San Jose Medical Spa - San Jose

A friend of my referred me to San Jose Medical Spa a while ago. After going to other places for some treatments and doing some research on my own, I finally decided to check this place out. It's time to write a review and contribute to this site as I often use realself to read up on reviews.
I had 2 sessions of Picosure and some muscle sculpting Trusculpt thing, and also Sculpsure from them. The Pico is like an eraser to the pigments on my face! I thought I would be stuck with these dots forever until I met Dr. Chen. My acne scars is getting a lot better, and was told that it will take more treatments so I am patiently waiting for more sessions. I also had the Sculpsure and Trusculpt to work on my body. I can already tell a difference after 1 month. I not only see myself looking better with some "definitions" in my belly, but also feel stronger. This place is also really clean and beautiful. I am in remodeling business and I can tell that they use top quality tiles and fixtures for this place. This also tells me that they care about their quality and that really matters when we have to trust our doctors with our face and body. This will be my go-to place.

Hi have had 3 Picosure Focus laser treatments for hyperpigmentation and overall facial rejuvenation with Dr. Chen. She is very patient, caring and explains the procedure(s) thoroughly, from what to expect during the procedure to post-procedure care to possible complications (fortunately I had none). I have had 3 Picosure treatments over the past 4 months (one in Feb, one in March before the pandemic began and one in mid-June. I am extremely impressed with the results! The Picosure laser has brightened my face far better than RX strength Retin-A micro or doctor- administered acid peels ever did. I look like I've been airbrushed- no joke. I am 46 years old, Asian American with a medium complexion that tans easily. I've always had freckles, which I didn't mind until the last 4 years when I started experiencing hyperpigmentation. Some of my upper cheek freckles started to became more pronounced and started "connecting" with other freckles. In photos I noticed that it appeared as though I had three dirty
smudge marks on my upper cheeks. I also had some minor concerns with dull skin texture, the beginnings of fine wrinkles, and some dark post-acne spots in my t-zone. Picosure helped with all those concerns immediately, even after just one treatment. But most of all, Picosure lightened my freckles substantially reduced the three dark "smudge" mark areas. After the third treatment, I have almost no freckles and the smudge marks are extremely faint. You have to wear a lot of sunscreen to keep the freckles and dark spots from coming back, but boy is it worth it. Like I said, I look like I airbrushed my face and look probably 8+ younger after 3 treatments. I bought a series of 6 and can't wait to see how my skin continues to improve! The pain during the procedure is very tolerable- you want to be very generous in applying the numbing cream to your face. I recommend doing two passes. The Picosure laser feels like you are being snapped with a rubber band and your face will feel hot. You look quite sunburned for the first 48 hours but I felt okay to be seen and to put on makeup by Day 3.

I went to see Dr. Chen for a Picosure treatment to remove sun spots/freckles on my face. The results were amazing. After only 2 sessions, I saw dramatic improvements. I couldn’t believe it! It wasn't even painful, and each session was very quick. Dr. Chen is a very professional and experienced doctor. She genuinely cared about my well-being and making sure that I was feeling comfortable throughout the whole process. If you want to find a clinic that is professional, clean, has reasonable pricing, and high quality service, you should consider this place. Thank you so much Dr Chen!

I had a girls-night-out dinner with some friends that I haven't seen for a while. First thing I noticed was how they are looking younger from the last time we saw each other. I then realized it is their freckles that just disappeared from their face. I am always self conscious about my own freckles so I just thought it doesn't hurt to ask them how they got rid of them, and they told me they had been coming to Dr. Chen for some Picosure... all the way in San Jose (we all live in SF)! I knew it would be something really good or else why would anyone drive so far! Even with such high expectations, this place still impressed me in many ways! I was a quite busy place and made me a bit nervous at first as I have never done any aesthetic/needles before. I probably asked over 30 questions and Dr. Chen still took the time to explained everything to me without rushing and pressure of doing anything. Since I drove all the way there, I convinced myself to do the treatment. This maybe one of the best decision I have made for a long time. I am already seeing great results just after 3 weeks! Can't wait to go back there (although it is not the most comfortable treatment lol). This place is truly worth the drive and I am so happy with it!

I went to SJ Med Spa to address concerns with my face and to get rid of some belly fat. I met with Dr. Chen and Dr. Lee who explained in detail the treatments that they would recommend for me. They answered all my questions. For the face, I went with a introductory package. 2 PicoSure laser treatments and 1 Skin Resurfacing treatment. So far so good! I have already seem improvement! I also did 2 treatments of Sulpsure and have seen great results. I would totally recommend SJ Med Spa to my friends!

I had 2 treatments done (lower abdomen and flanks). I noticed a really big difference just after one session. Not only that, I noticed some skin tightening that not only makes my skin texture looks better, but also make my stretch marks less noticeable! I seriously thought I would have to live with my big tummy (which sometimes others mistaken that I was pregnant) and loose skins (where I seriously didn't even know where to tug them) before learning about SculpSure. I went in for my treatment during my children's nap time and came home to resume my mommy duty. Both my husband and I just Love Love Love the result from SculpSure, and most importantly, this is a catalyst to help me further regain my self-confidence. I will definitely go back for at least 1 more session.

I went to see Maggie for the first time a few weeks ago for a Sculpsure appointment, and found her to be very personable, welcoming and knowledgable about the treatment. She took her time to explain the procedure, and let me know what to expect. I really appreciated the fact that she made sure I was comfortable every step of the way, especially when she was preparing the applicators, to make sure they were not too tight but also letting me know, the more we could get into the applicator, the better the results. I also found the clinic itself to be very clean and inviting - not like some doctors' offices where you find yourself not wanting to be in after a few minutes, let alone a whole hour. The overall procedure took about 50 minutes (25 mins each) as I had two areas done, and the entire time she made sure I was relaxed and comfortable. I will definitely come back for my second visit in a few weeks!

For the small reduction in belly pudge...not worth it even with a 10 pound weight loss and 2 treatment cycles...should have followed my instincts and gotten the second consultation from board certified plastic surgeon to be better informed of options for the $$$...would have not wasted my time and money on Sculptsure and probably done Smart lipo.

I just had my 1st session of Sculpsure, and scar treatment last week by Dr. Chen, it's a pleasant experience. Dr. Chen is very caring and knowledgeable. Prior than that in my short consultation with her, I already could tell she is the doctor you can trust. So I got price quote the next day and made appointment right away. After the 1st treatment I felt very good about my decision. The equipment in this place is state of the art, and Dr. Chen is incredibly skillful, attentive and considerable. Will update final result here later.
I’m truly amazed how much laser technology can do for maintaining our health, youth and beauty. I’m planing to get some treatment in this Spa every year from now, certainly will recommend to my friends and family.

I treated my upper & lower stomach, and it felt like a "hot stone" massage. I was able to go up to the highest setting so to me it was not painful at all. It has been 4 weeks now and I definitely feel smaller. I can tell by just looking down at my tummy.
Can't wait till going back in 2 weeks to see my after photos!
