7 Q&A

Q: Why is lipo the same cost (or more) than a tummy tuck?
Answered by Dr. MoisterMay 26, 2022

A: I cannot speak to the cost difference in your location, but in my practice these procedures are used to address similar but different areas of concern are not interchangeable. I would recommend having an in person consultation with someone familiar and experienced with both procedures.

Q: Tummy Tuck - will my surgery scars cause any issues? (photos)
Answered by Dr. MoisterDecember 29, 2021

A: There are many factors that increase the likelihood of an issue when undergoing an abdominoplasty, including a previous incision such as yours. However, it is possible that you can still undergo abdominoplasty with a low risk of complication. I'd recommend scheduling an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. It is always useful to bring the operative note from your previous abdominal procedures with you to this appointment.

Q: Can someone with a heart murmur get liposuction?
Answered by Dr. MoisterDecember 29, 2021

A: Liposuction can be performed safely in patients with a variety of heart conditions including a "heart murmur". However, safety depends on a variety of factors including nature of the heart condition, amount of liposuction, and type of anesthesia. A full assessment of the safety and risk of a procedure requires a conversation between the person managing your heart murmur, plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist.

Q: Breast sagging after weight loss - will a donut breast lift with fat injections help me?
Answered by Dr. MoisterNovember 20, 2021

A: The first thing I would recommend is speaking to a a board certified plastic surgeon in person about your goals and concerns. Weight loss after bariatric surgery affects every persons body differently. Without knowing more about your history I will say that the "donut" lift with fat grafting will provide an extremely modest improvement.

Q: What is the best treatment for deep dynamic under eye wrinkles? (photo)
Answered by Dr. MoisterMay 5, 2021

A: It's difficult to give a complete response based on your photograph but in general fillers are less effective for any dynamic wrinkles. Fillers can be used with caution and in the hands of an experienced practitioner at the tear trough around the eyes. However, I recommend against filler treatment for the lower lid crease as this can make these wrinkles more prominent. Adequate treatment of this crease usually requires surgery. I would recommend an in person discussion with a board certified physician experienced in lower eyelid procedures.
