Only one treatment in, but wow! Smooth in pubic region and can easily skip days shaving the legs. Could barely go 24 hrs without rough think stubble on the the legs before. Can’t wait for next session.
I wish I could give Renova zero stars. I’ve been a customer for over five years, spending thousands of dollars on full-body laser hair removal, full-body touch-ups, and multiple 3-section packages. Instead of solving my hair growth issues, these treatments have caused an even worse problem. After the first few sessions, I noticed the hair on my face and neck growing thicker, darker, and coarser, while the rest of my body responded fine. Each time I voiced my concerns, I was told it must be a hormonal issue and advised to continue with more treatments. So, I did—spending more money on countless sessions, doctor visits and blood work, only to watch the hair on my face and neck grow back thicker and darker than before. Sure enough, there is nothing medically wrong with me (thank god!!) and I have been misled and lied to by this place. It wasn’t until recently that a technician finally admitted the truth: in areas with minimal hair growth, laser hair removal can cause paradoxical hypertrichosis—the exact issue I’ve been experiencing. But by then, the damage was done. My facial hair is now thick, dark, and patchy, leaving me feeling self-conscious, depressed, and hopeless. After years of treatments that only made the problem worse, I demanded a refund. Instead of taking responsibility for their error, the owner flatly refused. They offered a few "free sessions," but this is completely useless—more treatments cannot fix what has already been done. The follicles have been stimulated, and the damage is irreversible. Not only have I wasted thousands of dollars on these treatments, but now I must spend even more on corrective procedures like electrolysis to try and undo the damage caused by Renova. These additional treatments will likely cost me far more than I’ve already spent, and I’m left with a significant financial burden. Renova’s treatment of my concerns has been disgraceful. They took my money, ignored my repeated complaints, and now I’m left to deal with the consequences. If you're considering laser hair removal here, be warned: they don’t prioritize your well-being. Once they have your money, they don’t care about the results. Before purchasing any sessions or packages, save yourself the heartbreak and do your research. Even if they tell you about the risks of paradoxical hypertrichosis, ask yourself: Do you want to trust a clinic that treats its customers with this level of disregard? I know of at least four other people who’ve experienced the same issue at this location—this could easily happen to you or someone you care about. Renova has ruined my appearance, my confidence, and my finances. The owner’s (Dr. Naghavi) refusal to issue a refund is further proof that they don’t care about their clients. Don’t make the same mistake I did. There are plenty of other places that will actually listen to your concerns and deliver safe, effective results. Renova is not one of them.
I wish I never lost time, money, and energy on this place. Here's why:1) You won't get results. I had 3 sessions so far and have yet to see any hair shed. Last time, I asked the tech what the highest fluence settings they'll ever use are, and she said 22J/cm2 for Yag and 14J/cm2 for Alexandrite. These are both way lower than what the scientific research and any forum would recommend, and this is the highest they'll ever go... no wonder my hair won't shed.2) Laser hair removal techs are completely inconsistent and there's no quality control. I get that each person has their own way of doing things, and that's fine. But all the techs should at least agree on what each area to the laser is! I've been doing upper leg laser and some techs think it includes the knee, some don't. Some think the bikini starts at your underwear, some think it starts 3 or 4 inches away and won't go any further because "that's not the leg area." Some offer aftercare instructions and lotion/cream to apply right after the laser session is complete, some don't and just walk out of the room. I asked a tech once about the brand of laser used, and she said "I don't know, we just call it Yag." (Yag is a type of laser, but different manufacturers/brands work differently.) How would a laser tech know what they're doing if they don't even know what device they're using? 3) They make false promises. About a month after my 2nd session with 0 effects, I called and asked about my settings. The person I spoke with sounded surprised and said that I should get a free session if this hasn't been working for me so far. She also said that I can request the Alexandrite laser at my next session since their default is Yag for everyone. When I went in for my next session, no one was aware of this call, and the tech said that the Alexandrite laser wasn't available that day. Given how tight scheduling these appointments can be, the idea of just rescheduling and hauling myself back over there to maybe have the same issue come up again didn't sound like something I wanna do, so I just stayed and went with the Yag. (And still no results.)Basically, the settings are too low to have any effect, the techs are a wild card in so many different unsettling ways, and calling to figure out what's going on doesn't help. Good luck.
