Dr. Garazo is known for his thorough, expert, and friendly care, and patients benefit from his low-pressure, kind bedside manner. A native of Hagerstown, Maryland, Dr. Garazo returned in 1997 to become partners with Dr. Michael Hall at Plastic Surgery Services, originally founded in 1961 by Dr. John Clark. Dr. Garazo attended North Hagerstown High School, where he graduated with honors and was presented with a Maryland Distinguished Scholar Award (for graduating in the top 5% of the State of Maryland). He went on to earn his M.D. degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his General Surgery Residency at State University of New York (SUNY), Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Garazo completed his Plastic Surgery Residency at Medical College of Georgia, Hospital and Clinics, Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Garazo received advanced training with the Chairman of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and became board certified in plastic surgery. He went on to become a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Aesthetic Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Garazo also holds membership to the John Staige Davis Society of the Plastic Surgeons of Maryland. In the past, Dr. Garazo was the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Washington County Hospital (now Meritus Medical Center) and he now serves on the consulting staff for both Chambersburg Hospital and Waynesboro Hospital. Dr. Garazo has been listed in Vogue, Glamour, Allure, and Self magazines as one of the “Outstanding Plastic Surgeons in Maryland” and has been honored as one of “America’s Top Plastic Surgeons” for eleven consecutive years. He was among a select few to have earned this prestigious recognition by the Consumer Research Council of America and is named in the 2009 – 2016 editions of the “Guide to America’s Top Surgeons.” The selection process is based on a point value system that awards points for education, years in practice, and affiliations with professional associations. Dr. Garazo has been in practice for over 20 years and has a strong commitment to excellence in plastic surgery.
