Everyone talks about how having incontinence is normal after giving birth. So I figured don't worry about i will deal with that for the rest my life. But about a year ago I was done. I was 37 years old and tired dealing with wetting myself. Every time I sneezed, laughed, jumped even working out was a problem. I really didn't want to wear depends or liners for the rest of my life. I wanted to feel young and have that confidence to go out and do what I wanted. So about a year ago I did some research and found Dr. Rosenfield. I was nervous going in for a consult but after I was done I was very excited to find out all that can be done. It wasn't just incontinence, it was a few more issues like constipation and UTI I have been having way too long. I also found out I had to get a hysterectomy. With everything going on I knew it was time to get everything fixed and Dr. Rosenfield was top notch the best person to fix me! He made me feel comfortable with the whole process. I am at 5wks post Op and feeling great. I had a little scare about bleeding but Doc. Says I healing great! My friends have asked what I had done and are thinking about fixing their own incontinence, I recommended Dr Rosenfield for each one of them. He is amazing! If you're thinking about getting anything done go to The Pearl Women's Center and ask for him. All the staff are great. I can't say enough on how great everything turned out and how wonderful the process was. Thank You!!! I had a colpopexy with graft, laparoscopic hysterectomy, sling, vaginoplasty and rectocele with mesh.
Everyone at Pear Women’s Center is so friendly, from the front office to nurses and Dr. Rosenfield. I made an appointment three years after the birth of my son to find out about options to treat incontinence and overall issues with tightness. I was very nervous but Dr Rosenfield and his staff made me feel so comfortable and explained my options without any pressure. I opted to do the femilift treatment and am so happy with my decision. After three sessions I have no leakage and experience a noticeable difference with tightness. This treatment is not a miracle by any means but there is definitely an improvement and for that I am grateful.
I scheduled with Dr. Rosenfield at Pearl womens center for a vaginal wall reconstruction/tightening and a labiaplasty. Next week I have my 6 week post opp. I'm a mother of four children who I delivered all vaginally. Each of my children weighed 9ib 9oz, 9ib 8oz, 9ib 10oz, 8ib 9oz. Even prior to having children I had vaginal laxity due to a sexual assault from when I was younger, but after having children, each delivery caused more laxity to my muscles. After having my fourth child the vaginal walls were separated, four fingers to 5 fingers could easily fit inside. My labia hung low and became a nuisance and irritation when wearing underwear and pants. Durring intercourse I couldn't feel much of anything. I had no control of my muscles. The procedure was alot of money out of pocket, near $14k to cover the vaginal reconstruction and labiaplasty, but the cost was worth the improvement of this area. Dr. Rosenfield and his staff were very professional and kind to me. Dr. Rosenfield has been very accessible in answering any questions or concerns. The first week after surgery was the most painful, but the painkillers prescribes helped alot with numbing 99% of it. After the first week pain was gone, however some aching was left and random twinge of pain from the surchers remained. I'm now at 5 weeks post opp and all the desolate sutures are gone, there is zero pain and it feels normal. I'm not extremely thrilled with the appearance of my labia as I also had a clitoral hood repair and some of my orrigional labia akin was used to construct this hood. It looks a bit off to me. However, I am not disappointed as the appearance is 1000 times better than how it looked before. Going into this procedure you cannot expect perfection on the labia repair. If you have excess dropping skin, dont expect miracles! Im happy that it looks better and isn't a nuisance in my clothing. I havent had intercours yet because I havent had the go ahead from the Dr. So I'll update when I'm able. I would say if the condition of your vagina is in the same place as mine was, and you are considering doing this procedure, I believe it is worth it. Our sexual health is important. I do wish insurance policies would stop considering this to be a cosmetic procedure and consider it medically necessary. Our genitalia should be functional, and when the muscles are separated and a whole hand can fit in your vagina, your genitalia should not be considered "functional," in sexual health. As women we need to demand this. Men get viagra covered in thier health insurance policies, trans women get this same procedure covered for gender affirming care so thier sexual health is functional! Why are women not covered?
