I first met up with Dr.Day after I had my surgery in Istanbul, Turkey, who messed up the surgery and ended up in ER at evergreen Hospital. Dr Day was called. He has been nothing but kind , understanding and overall very helpful with my recovery and also not only fixed the messed up surgery from turkey but also my self esteem. Thank you Dr. Day .Very grateful and i have to add at a very reasonable price. Anybody reading this , please think twice before going out for surgery when you can get it right here at home at reasonable price and excellent care
When it comes to Botox, you can and should treat what's needed for treatment. Now, areas that aren't yet affected could have wrinkles prevented with pre-emptive treatment. But that doesn't mean you have to treat areas you're not concerned about and don't have something you would iike to address. Thank you, Dr. Kris Day
This is an interesting question. Sometimes botox, which is a nerve agent that decreases contraction of muscles, usually used in the face, can be used in a targeted fashion to create greater symmetry. In fact, if there is an asymmetry of nerve function after a trauma or surgery, then botox can be used on the other side to even things out.
I hope you don't mind my saying, but this is a very interesting pattern of wrinkle. While not common, this may be related to loss of volume in your cheek, more than a neuromuscular phenomenon, which would be typically treated by botox. I would suggest a consultation with assessment of static and dynamic changes as well as putting these concerns in context of other changes you've noticed in your face overall. I suspect that there may be a good deep cheek filler option for you as well as some surgical alternatives.
Hi Kam, Botox can treat the muscle component of plastysmal bands, but its not just the muscle that causes these. Any excess or loose skin over the platysma muscle will also contribution to band formation and is usually best treated by removing the excess skin, as you referred to in your comment. A neck lift can be performed on its own or in combination with a facelift and may be - despite the hesitation related to recovery, which you are wise to consider - your best option. Thanks
I see why you might be interested in botox as a way to address additional tissue of the upper eye, but unfortunately the way this injected medication works is to decrease nerve and muscle function for wrinkles moreso than to eliminate extra tissue. If you are interested in removing excess skin, then an upper lip blepharoplasty is really what you probably want to receive a consult for.
