Three doctors with one mission: Keeping New Orleans beautiful!
Dr. Hendricks is very knowledgeable, kind and patient. I've never had fillers before, so I was nervous and ignorant as to the entire process. Dr. Hendricks, sat with me, explained in detail the difference types of fillers and suggested the best one for me, based on what I told and showed him what I wanted my lips to look like. Dr. Hendricks, didn't rush the process and waited until my nerves has subsided, to perform the procedure and during the process he took the time to let me look at the difference and wouldn't proceed until I gave him the ok. Dr. Hendricks is hands down one of the best I've ever met and so far, no one can compare to his skill set and his kindness and patience. I'm telling any and everyone about Dr. Hendricks. This review was created as part of a nomination to the RealSelf I Love My Injector Campaign.
I had breast silicone implants put in 6 years ago that were way too big for my body frame by another plastic surgeon; this caused the implants to eventually tear the pocket that the implant was sitting in and migrate laterally under my armpit which was pretty painful and ugly. Dr. Hendricks and I thoroughly discussed my options and he advised we remove my old implants and reinsert new, smaller implants. This procedure was especially complicated because he also had to go in and reconnect the torn tissue to make my pocket smaller while also securing it so that this likely would not happen again. I had done my research for a long time before deciding to go The New Orleans Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery, I knew when I met these doctors that I had found my place. Dr. Hendricks worked alongside Dr. Velargo (rhinoplasty which was also amazing) at the same time, so I was able to get 2 procedures done at the same time. Dr. Hendricks was gentle, patient and really listened to what my goals were which made me feel at ease and that I was making the right choice. I am very happy with my results!
When I was younger I knew when the time came I would have something done. Well let me tell you, the time has come! Lol. I am a jeweler and I was getting so tired of long time customers asking me if I was sick or if I was tired. The truth is when my face is at rest It just looks that way. I have been looking for around three years. Real Self has been such a help. All of the ladies that have shared their stories has been an unbelievable help. So I'm here to share my story in hopes of helping others. After much research decided that Dr. Parker A. Velargo at New Orleans Center for aesthetics and plastic surgery was the one. I am having a face/neck lift, upper blepharoplasty, and brow lift with hairline lowering. I was hoping to do this without being put to sleep. But because of a fast heart rate ,that I take medication for, it would not be wise. So general anesthesia it is. : ( Like many others here. I fought back and fourth with myself about spending so much money on myself. It's funny that we don't mind spending money on others but for some reason not on ourselves. Well I finally put that fight to rest and decided I was very much worth every penny spent. Husband has always supported my decisions but he dose worry and hopes that all goes well with no problems. We have been married for 39 years. I am to have surgery on March 28th. So it's right around the corner. We will be leaving Monday and staying until Friday. I think I have all my ducks in a row. I will post before pictures. No makeup and worst light possible. I will try very hard to keep all updated. Updated on 2 Apr 2017: Hello all. Sorry it took so long to update. Had surgery on the 28th. Surgery was supposed to be 4 1/2 hours but it ended up running a little over six hours I think. I think the reason for this was from what Husband told me I bled more than the normal person. Dr. Velargo normally does not use drains but in my case he ended up putting a drain behind each ear. Woke up with the big head wrap that everyone ends up wearing after surgery. Next day went to see doctor. He cut head wrap off then drained the drains behind the ears and wrapped my head up again for another night. Probably done to keep the possibility of any hematomas from forming. Okay now for the pain. For anyone having this type of surgery there will be pain. I have had two neck fusions, given natural birth, and the neck fusions was a walk in the park compared to this surgery. But in saying that. I would still do it again. As of now. I am five days out and still dealing with a lot of swelling. Mainly tired. And low energy which is expected. If you have any questions I will try to answer as soon as possible. I will also be uploading some photos. I will be so happy to see the results. I am so so happy with the surgeon I choose. I can't say enough good things about this man! Updated on 17 Apr 2017: Feeling a lot better. Still swollen but getting better. The thing to remember is that when it is you going through the healing process a week can seem like a long time. You have to have patience. Updated on 17 Apr 2017: Feeling really good. Still stiff neck and around jaw going all the way to the ears caused by swelling. But getting better every day. Dr. Velargo did such a great job. I have not had to call him one time for any concerns. I plan on having a chemical peel in the future to get rid of the dark spots on my face. If anyone has questions I will be happy to answer.
Can't say enough about how great my experience was with Dr. Parker Velargo in New Orleans. I had a full face and neck lift along with upper and lower Blepharoplasty. He was very accessible at every stage and told me exactly what to expect. He and his staff are highly professional and attentive.
I visited with Tisere to do coolsculpting on my chin and stomach area. She did such a great job and made me feel very comfortable. She is a complete professional. When the coolmax went on my stomach it hurt, and Tisere comforted me until the numbness soothed. Highly recommend her and the coolsculpting system.
