Almost a year ago, I got abdominal liposuction in hopes of getting rid of my huge stubborn belly. Previously, I went to a center in Roseville, Ca and got an estimate which turned out to be $10k. So I looked elsewhere and found New body MD. I went in for a consult and happened to have a special so I had four parts done for about $5400. The tricky part about getting the abdomen done is there are different areas so you have to choose what areas you want done. I got my upper abdomen, lower abdomen, bilateral hips and flanks. I wish I could have gotten my upper back done too but it would have gone above my budget. I’m not a big person but I’ve always carried everything in my gut. I’m 5’1, about 115 lbs, and I do cardio about three times a week. No matter what I did, my stomach was never flat. I do love food so that may have been an issue there. Haha. The surgery my only way out at this point. So I went for the surgery! Two small incision under my bikini line and two above my buttocks (alingned to the hip bones). I was given oral norco and Ativan to help before the surgery as I was only moderately sedated. I believe I was given propofol and versed for the sedation. I only remember small parts of the procedure then I went home where I fell asleep and only woke up for dinner. I slept with lots of padding for the leakage and believe me, there was a lot of it. The next day, I drove myself to my follow up since I didn’t take any narcotics. The pain wasn’t too bad but it was uncomfortable. Ibuprofen helped although I was given tramadol. The leakage wasn’t too bad after the first two days. The first day when I woke up, I thought I was bleeding a lot! But I think it was just from the fluids they put in you during the procedure. I was back to work post op day 4. I do a lot of heavy lifting at work. I just made sure my dressings stayed clean and I changed it if needed. I was bruised and tender for a good 3 weeks. Some times I would feel stings but that was from my nerves returning from the damage during the procedure. Fast forward to today, I’m still not very confident in a bikini. I do have some fatty lumps which I expected but don’t like. However, the worst one is on my left flank which is a fatty bulge. It looks very uneven compared to my right side. Also, I have a line across my belly that the dr said is from the loss of elasticity that he wouldn’t be able to fix but I could try some laser procedure. Overall, I don’t regret doing the procedure as I am able to wear clothes more confidently now. But I refuse to wear midriffs or bikinis at this point in my life. I’m still trying to figure out what I can do that won’t require any invasive procedures that could help my current situation for the left over fat that didn’t get suctioned out. “( Side note: the provider was very nice. He made me feel very comfortable. However, after the consult, surgery, and day 1 post op, I never saw him again. Overall thought: lipo is helpful overall, but it’s not perfect. There are definitely areas it misses and causes fat pockets to standout compared to the rest of the abdomen that may now be flat.
I would like to say I had the best experience with Dr. Javad Tavassoli at New Body MD. Starting from the very beginning booking a consultation was very easy and they got me in right away. I spoke with Lisa Frazer and she was absolutely wonderful. She was very attentive, informative, and kind. During my consultation, Dr. “T” was very calming and informative. At NO point was I ever uncomfortable. Dr. “T” demeanor was very comforting and his bedside manner alone is five stars! No question was a stupid question during my consultation. I went and well researched and had an idea of what I wanted before I went in (Chin Lipo). He guided me with his professional opinion and helped me realize a few other healthy things that I need to do for myself after this “Fresh Start”. I have gone to many consultations with other surgeons before and they always made me feel rushed. Dr. “T” took his time with me. He even spent time speaking with my mom on a procedure she was thinking about having. She lives out of the country and will be back in March and will have her procedure with Dr. “T”. Once I paid, they gave me the prescription to go get my medications for surgery along with a detailed list of what to do and not to do before and after surgery. They went over absolutely everything regarding pre-operation and post-operation. I absolutely loved how detail oriented they are. The anesthesiologist and the nurse called me the night before surgery to give me the rundown and to make sure all my prescriptions were filled. Once it came to my surgery day, Dr. “T” and the staff greeted me with a smile. I met with the anesthesiologist and the nurse the morning of to go over everything and to get me prepped for surgery. Overall the whole experience was absolutely AMAZING. I am obsessed with the results and I'm incredibly happy. I would definitely recommend Dr. Tavassoli to anyone who is thinking about cosmetic surgery. He is super talented and really cares about every single one of his patients. I know that I could call him and his staff if I ever have any questions or concerns. He even gives out his own personal cell phone in case of any questions, concerns or emergencies. Five out of five stars for Dr. Tavassoli and his staff. I will definitely be coming back for future endeavors. Thank you!
I had a full tummy tuck a yer ago which left my hips and flanks to not match my stomach. I am Now 1 day post op body jet lipo where 2100cc was removed from my hips and flanks. Getting the BBL was something I've wanted for years. When I walked in to New Body MD in Stockton for a consultation the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They did not pressure me in anyway to make any decisions that day which I liked. I met Dr. Tavassoli and realized I was in the right place. I left with contact numbers for everyone and was encouraged to calI if I had questions at any time. I now have so much more confidence in the clothes I wear and my self esteem is through the roof. It's a struggle but I am following all the post surgery instructions to a T and I must say it is all worth it. I cannot sit for long periods of times which is different for me but I have made the adjustments nessecary to ensure ultimate results. I am still watching what I eat because as of right now (being 6 weeks post-op) I cannot workout. I took about 1 week off of work to give myself time to adjust. The healing is a process but it is definitely worth it. Updated on 5 Dec 2016:
