After much research I decided to go ahead and get started with my first cool scuplting treatment. I did my left love handle area and this is how it went. First she applied a wet slippery pad onto the area after outlining where she was going to suction with a marker. Then she applied the device. You can feel some tugging as the machine sucks in your skin, and as everyone else said, for the first 15 minutes you can feel the cold and a little pinchy, but not pain. After 15 mins you really feel nothing. I was on my phone doing stuff the whole time. When she took it off, there was a block where it was frozen. After she massaged it, the block broke up and I was on my way. The area was cold to the touch and a little swollen, but now after about 5 hours, it's gone down and just a little numb. Not much bruising yet, I've been taking Arnacin since Monday. Will update with pics as the days go by and report my results. Going to do the other side next week. Updated on 6 Aug 2015: Here is my (slightly) before picture, taken the day after my left flank procedure. Just did the right side yesterday. Will post updated pics. Updated on 7 Aug 2015: The only thing I can report thus far is tenderness to the touch on both sides. I massage them whenever I think of it, and it hurts, but nothing too bad. I wanted to add though that for the last two days I have been extremely tired. Took a nap. Not sure if it has anything to do with the procedures, but I did hear some people got flu like symptoms, so maybe this was a slight case. Not sure. Otherwise, everything is fine. Still too early to tell if any fat loss. Updated on 9 Aug 2015: So it's been 10 days post on left side and 5 days post on right. If anyone is thinking of doing their sides, do it! Just numbness so far and pain to touch at first but both sides have no pain at this point. So now waiting for the results. Would recommend so far and thinking of doing abs at belly button. Will let you all know. Updated on 12 Aug 2015: So it's been almost 2 weeks since I did my left side, and a week from the right side. I wanted to that both sides are still tender to touch but nothing more. I also feel like the left side actually looks smaller. Going to take pics on Friday and post. Wanted to mention something that might be a coincidence but might be the flu-like symptoms I heard about. I wrote previously that 6 days in from my first side (the left side) I became exhausted needed to nap. Well, strangely enough, yesterday - same thing happened only this time I got a weird stomach ache. Had to sleep it off. And it was the same amount of time from my right side procedure. Soooo ... while it only lasted a couple of hours and only that one day, there seems to be a pattern. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. Could be coincidence but never have felt so tired and not so well that I had to nap in middle of day. Will post soon. Updated on 19 Aug 2015: Friday will be 3 weeks post for my left side and today is 2 weeks post for my right. What do you think? I feel like the sides look a little smaller, however I feel like my abs look fatter and kind of twisted in a weird way. I did eat a lot this weekend so not sure. Would love your thoughts. As for pain, tenderness gone, slightly numb.
?With all honesty, I wish I had a better experience at the Nazarian Plastic Surgery. This is a first negative review that I ever wrote, so I am not a habitual complainer. I came in for a Miradry procedure in September 2017 after being referred by another plastic surgeon. A medical assistant who greeted me, provided an exuberant description of the procedure and its results. She stated that it was the best thing she had ever done for herself, and the results were “amazing” and positive across the board. I remember that because I made a point to ask. She said that most people need just one treatment, and a few might need a second for touch ups. At this point any doubt that I had, was gone. I was full of hope and excitement to get rid of this embarrassing sweating that I suffered from for a long time. Although the procedure itself was not painful, the injection with tumescent solution was very painful. Just try to imagine your underarm being poked with a thick needle multiple times, and then inflated with all the liquid- not fun (the anesthetic takes care of most needle pokes but not the pain from the solution injection). I was not concerned about pain then; I had my eyes on the prize- to stop sweating- well, that never materialized ?. Actually, for the first month, there was mild to moderate pain/swelling, but no sweat. I was on top of the world. Finally, I thought, I can wear something else but black and not be worried about the sweat stains. (Sorry for the visual. Those who suffer from hyperhidrosis can relate, I’m sure) To my great disappointment, the sweating had gradually returned. I was miserable, but still hopeful, thinking that I might be ‘one of those few that need a second procedure for touch ups’. Originally, I was told that if I needed the second procedure, it would be half price. I happened to call in the end of December to book an appointment. The receptionist said “Oh, good timing because the promotion for the discount ends today, you need to pay right now!”. When I tried to explain that I was promised that price with no time restriction, she referred to “multiple emails that were sent” to me. It did not happen, I never received the emails! Yes, I checked the spam folder. The reason I’m putting this here is the amount of frustration that builds up when people indisputably claim that it is your fault, not theirs. I made a point to look for those emails, but never found it because it was never sent. What is wrong with just admitting an error on their part? Customer is always right? Nope, not in this office. When I asked if I could pay the next day since it was the end of the day and I did not have my card, I was told “No, Dr. Nazarian said today is the last day, no exceptions!!” Ok, okay, long story short, I paid, made an appointment, came in for the same thing expecting different results. For those who are tired of reading, well, you can guess, Miradry did not work again. For those who are still reading, here is more. The second time was different. No, the crazy pain and swelling was the same, what was different that I started sweating right away after the procedure. Imagine, still numb from anesthetic and sweaty. I called to the office and explained, they agreed that it was unusual and said that maybe it was the Miradry device that didn’t work. The employee said the office would contact Miradry and ask them for another applicator. After two months of waiting for a phone call, I called to get an update. I was promised that an employee will call me. There were no calls back for two days, after which, when we finally spoke, I was told that Miradry office refused to replace a questionable device. The recommended a third procedure. They said that “it was my body that did not respond due to my age and hormones.” I am nowhere near menopause. Why is it always hormones when it comes to women?! Apparently Miradry is not interested in patient satisfaction. Anyway, here I am, after two painful experiences, still sweaty and extremely upset and disappointed. This my experience. If Miradry worked for other people, I am very happy for them because I know how sweating can negatively affects one’s life. Thank you for reading
