I actually had my HUE transplant with Dr. Reynaldo Lee-Llacer. DEC 4, 2020. At the Bethesda MD location. The entire process was seemless. The staff were compassionate, patient, friendly and very knowledgeable. The office followed Covid protocols. And surprisingly it was a great experience.. natural transplants are skilled in Diverse hair treatment. And personally they have a great in depth knowledge of African American or curly coarse hair. And highly recommend their services for your transplant needs.
I am a 30(now) yr old black woman and I went to Dr. Siegel back in April 2017 and he did such an amazing job on my hairline! The staff, was so amazing too! I became a nervous wreck during the numbing process and they all calmed me down and made me feel so comfortable! I loved my FaceTime updates with the doctor and I got to say hi to the staff! Worth every penny!
I started suffering from traction alopecia back in 2013. I used rogaine, other oils claiming to help with growth and nothin really worked. So I finally broke down and got a hair transplant August 15, 2019. I'll be posting pictures monthly. Updated on 20 Aug 2019: Before procedure the little bit of growth I got with Rogaine Updated on 20 Aug 2019: Post op Updated on 12 Sep 2019: Today marks 1 month. So far only updates are sutures have been removed and all the scabs are gone. Hair is starting to grow over the suture line. I’m still bald lol. I’ve been wearing headbands and some days a wig. Will update next month. Updated on 10 Oct 2019: It’s been two months and still no sign of hair. I sent these pictures to my doctor and he said it looks fine and it’s still very early. I feel like other people had more hair than this at 2 months but I know I can’t compare my progress to others. So the waiting game continues... 4 months is supposed to be when the growth starts. I’ve never wanted time to move any faster lol Updated on 5 Nov 2019: Starting to get a lil bit of fuzz but still barely any change. Patiently waiting.... Updated on 8 Dec 2019: 4 months. This is when they say the growth starts. I’m seeing a little more density but it’s still very thin. Glad to see a hairline forming. Still waiting.... Updated on 29 Dec 2019: Updated on 20 Jan 2020: Finally growing! Trusting the process Updated on 29 Feb 2020: So excited to see the progress! The waiting process is so hard but it’s worth it! Updated on 24 Mar 2020: 8 month update! Updated on 25 Apr 2020: Can’t believe it’s been 8 months! Even more amazed at the amount of growth! Still have 4 more months til I reach my maximum results! I have no regrets Updated on 8 Aug 2020: It will make one year on 8/15/20. I am so glad I did this. It was worth it! The growth is amazing. My hairline is full, the transplanted hair is healthy and it is growing in length. The donor area is completely covered and the hair is growing back just fine. The only thing I will say is I wish the top grew in as thick as the sides, but considering nothing was there to begin with, I really have no complaints. Definitely recommend this if you can do it.
Title: Highly Dissatisfying Hair Transplant Experience - Beware of Unnatural Results Review: I deeply regret choosing this clinic for my hair transplant. Dr. Rose performed the procedure, and I am thoroughly dissatisfied with the results. Despite discussing my expectations and asking pertinent questions beforehand, I feel misled and disappointed. The entire process felt rushed and nonchalant. One major issue is the unnatural spacing of the transplanted hair. It appears as though hair was inserted in a haphazard manner, leaving noticeable holes and an overall unnatural appearance. The growth pattern is erratic, with hair sprouting in various directions, further contributing to the unnatural look. Additionally, the decision to place hair in my temple area without prior discussion or consent has led to new issues. Since the procedure, I have experienced problems with bumps and pimples in this area, which were never a concern before. This unforeseen consequence has added to my dissatisfaction and frustration. Furthermore, the neglect of my crown area, despite discussing it as a problem area prior to the procedure, is a major disappointment. Instead of addressing this concern, I was informed afterward that I would need to return for an additional session. This lack of transparency and failure to meet agreed-upon expectations is unacceptable. The procedure, promised to take half a day, lasted only three hours, leaving me questioning the thoroughness of the treatment. Considering the exorbitant cost of $7,000, which depleted my life savings, I expected meticulous attention to detail and care. However, the outcome has left me emotionally devastated and financially burdened. The clinic's outdated techniques have also resulted in a large scar at the back of my head, extending further than necessary. As a result, I am now seeking a reputable and experienced doctor who can rectify the damage caused by this clinic. In conclusion, I strongly advise against choosing this clinic, particularly for individuals of color. They have failed to meet my expectations, wasted my money and time, and left me in a distressing state. The transplanted hair appears unnatural, with noticeable spacing issues and erratic growth patterns. Additionally, the decision to place hair in my temple area has resulted in unexpected bumps and pimples. I am eager to find a competent professional who can provide the quality treatment and care I deserve, and rectify the subpar results of this clinic.
I am a 30 year old Black women who has struggled with hair loss since childhood. I've never head a healthy hairline. Tight braid pulled my hair out at the edges. Despite my hair loss I never saw a dermatologist. I just assumed is was the braids. After seeing before and after transplant videos on line I thought that was the best possible avenue for me to take. I contacted a few places for consultations. When I contacted natural transplants Dr Segiel did my consultation. He was very nice and told me that I would be a great candidate. He told me this even though the only thing he knew about my scalp was that I wore braids. He never suggested I go to a dermatologist. I know I should have gone on my own, But he was willing to and did perform surgery on my scalp without know anything about it. When I went in the day of my surgery he did even exam my scalp. If he did he would have seen that I actually have scaring alopecia. I 100 PERCENT should not have gotten the surgery. This place is a business. They are nice but they don't care about you and your life. They only care about getting paid. My life is ruin. Like i can't even cut my hair because of this terrible scar. Please ladies go to a dermatologist before having this procedure done. These doctors will operate on you no matter what. It's a business. Please really think about this before you go through with it. if I could back I would have NEVER done this.
Thank you for your question. The hairline can be transplanted to even out any inherent unevenness along the temporal edges. The beauty of the transplant is that the new hairs can be designed to blend in with your existing hairline and achieve a natural look. Once the hairs have been transplanted and matured (typically at 12 months), the hairs can be styled and cropped. The hairs can be cut or cropped earlier, but they may appear less dense until the 12 month mark.
Thank you for your question. Each patient varies, however there is definitely still growth from 8-10 months post-op. Typically, a good gauge of the density can be appreciated at about the 9month mark. The final result isn't truly appreciated until 12 months. Certain areas such as the crown, tend to take a little longer and can be up to 18 months. The best way to appreciate the progress is to take photos in the same location every month.
Thank you for your question regarding Minoxidil. It is not advised to keep Minoxidil on all week. Generally, it is best to wash your hair regularly, at least every other day on Minoxidil (Don't wash for at least 4 hours after application).
Thank you for sharing your photos. The result looks on track for 10 months and the final result won't be appreciated until the full 12 months. Before making any decisions, it's advised to wait for the final density. There still will be more maturing and density in the next few months. Given the fact that you have dark hair on lighter skin background, micropigmentation may be a great adjunct to the transplant.
Thank you for the photos. You definitely have good quality hair and may be experiencing the very beginnings of Male Pattern Baldness. The term describes a "pattern" and typically males will have receding of the hairline and/or the lateral recessions (corners) that you are depicting in the pictures. It appears to be very early in the process. In your case, it may be advised to wait until there is more area to transplant before undergoing a procedure. For small cases, DHI (FUE) may be advantageous. There are many factors to consider when deciding the right time to transplant and it is specific to the patient. There are also preventive medicines, topicals, and/or a laser helmet that you may want to consider if you decide to wait given your strong family history.
