Hi lovely realselfers!! I wanted to share my experience with you to thank this website for being an amazing resource in the run up to my surgery and to give props to my surgeon Mr Inglefield and his lovely team. I'm 30years old, around 130lbs, 5'6 and a mum of two. I have always been really small chested but after children if possible I looked even flatter- like barely an a cup! As promised to myself this was the year I would finally have a BA!! I had my surgery on March 23rd paired with another surgery but I'll review that one separately as I appreciate not everyone will be interested in reading about both. I had a few consultations but finally decided on Mr Inglefield as he was the only surgeon that filled me with confidence after each and every consultation I had with him. He was also always very professional, as well as confident and experienced in both the procedures I desired. The initial consultation involved a conversation about what I desired and why I wanted the surgery, 3D imaging and trying on sizers! Mr Inglefield thought 405cc would give the best result based on my anatomy, measurements and desired look. I did do an at home rice test after just to reconfirm in my mind on the size and for me it was perfect! I did learn from my consultations with various surgeons that my nipples are more lateral and I have a slightly wide sternum which worried me that I was going to have a big gap between my implants (I detest that look). Mr Inglefield was reassuring and said I will get a lovely result regardless. I had 405hp under the muscle, Inframammary incision with B-lite anatomical implants which would likely get me to a large C, small D! My biggest advice is research, research, research to give you an idea on desired breast size/shape- collect wish pics to show a few surgeons (don't just see one) and read as many realself reviews as possible. They really helped me prepare mentally! Also definitely do the rice test! It just helped reassure me that I was picking the right size! It's an absolute minefield understanding everything from cc's to profiles etc and this website was amazing- if I had a question no doubt someone had already asked it! But ultimately trust your chosen surgeon and his expertise to get you your desired look. Day of surgery- I was surprisingly calm and felt incredibly well looked after. I did feel really groggy and not at all with it after surgery. To be honest the initial post surgery part is a bit of a blur. I think it was a mixture of the anaesthesia and strong pain meds but all I really wanted to do after the surgery was sleep. I had people checking in on me continually- I had the surgery at Queen Anne street Medical Centre which is literally just around the corner from where Mr Inglefield carries out his consultations in London and I truly couldn't fault the care I received there. I had my op at 8.30am and left at around 6pm that evening. I was given two post op sport bras for after surgery which have to be worn 24/7 for 3weeks and then just during day for further 3 weeks. They have a strap across the front which encourages the implants down and into their pockets. They placed one of these on me straight after the surgery and the other to take home. I also had drains in directly after the op and these were removed just before I went home. I also had a weeks worth of anti-biotics and pain meds to take home with me as well. I wanted to add that I purchased the best pillow in world for after surgery: it's a kind of maternity pillow shaped in a big 'C' shape! I could not have done without this - I have always been a side sleeper so i had no idea how I was going to get through sleeping on my back post op! However this baby has kept me not only on my back, with head and chest elevated, but it is also super comfy and apart from when I was unwell on day 2/3, I have slept without issue every day since my op! I bought mine off of amazon: (here's link) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00SN2XOTG/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1490970440&sr=8-5?=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=maternity+pillow&dpPl=1&dpID=51SoH-cuFIL&ref=plSrch Ok, so worst days for me was days 2&3, I suffered badly from nausea & sickness and generally felt pretty unwell. I even had a little cry! It was a low point! I contacted the on call nurse who's no. I was provided with after surgery and she advised to stop taking the tramadol I had been given post op as It can occasionally have this effect on people and sure enough she was right-next day I was a million times better! I've since just stuck to paracetamol as and when I feel I need it - which has been sufficient with any discomfort I've had anyway. By day 5 I was out of the worst of it and started feeling much more myself! I also have had lymphatic drainage treatments as part of the before and after care. This helps to reduce swelling, remove toxins and speed up recovery- I had my first treatment day before op, second at one week check up and last at two week check up! It just feels like a very light massage. Lynsey also makes you feel super comfortable and chats away the whole time. Natalie one of the nurses who I have to say has truly been amazing throughout my 'surgical journey' so to speak, carried out my post op check and Mr Inglefield popped in to check all was looking well as well. So far so good! I currently have some numbness on my left breast near the incision and a complete contrast on my right breast which im suffering oversensitivity - not fun but I'm sure that will resolve itself eventually! So I am really pleased with my results at present.... Any questions just ask! I'll add my progress pics so far! Updated on 10 Apr 2017: Updated on 16 Apr 2017: Still pleased with my results! Starting to feel a bit softer and managed to start sleeping back on my side! Went back to work on light duties and they didn't cause me any discomfort! Happy happy!! Updated on 16 Apr 2017: Updated on 2 Aug 2017: Just an update as I haven't wrote one for a while, but just to say still really happy with my new assets : ) They've settled a lot since my last update. Still occasionally wear my support bra at night as sometimes I just feel more comfortable sleeping with it on! Couldn't be more grateful to Mr Inglefield for choosing the perfect sized implants that fit my frame so perfectly! The scar is perfectly disguised in the crease too - just love them.
So i didn't think i was going to share my story but i thought i would and i know it will help anyone who finds themselves in the same situation -don't worry :) I had surgery on 30th June, i'm 7 weeks post op. Surgery went well and i'm very happy. I had my surgery in London at LBPS, surgeon was Dr Christopher Inglefield. I have just had my 6 week check up and my scar is healing well and scalp is healthy. About 1 week after i got my stitches out i started to notice my hair coming out at the front. As you can see from the photos it has come out quite a lot since which has been very distressing. I have done everything right and have taken CE Furlic in the morning and Regaine (men's one) in the evening. I also purchased Viviscal hair growth tablets. They are quite pricey but i got them in the Holland & Barrett penny sale -6 months worth for £90. I love my new face and i can already see hairs growing through...i just know it will take a good couple of months for this to grow back...bittersweet feeling. The LBPS team are fantastic and Dr Inglefield is a great surgeon. If anyone has any questions or any experience with hair loss like this please get in touch, would love to hear from you's! Updated on 11 Oct 2016: Hair starting to grow..lots of baby hairs at the front. Hopefully all good by christmas!! Using regaine every night and taking hair growth tablets. Updated on 16 Nov 2016: 4 months since op. Hair is fluffy and short at front but growing very quickly :) i'd say i'd be able to have a fringe in about 8 weeks. The hairs are about 2 inches or so long so sweeping them to the side until they grow longer. Updated on 29 Nov 2016: 5 months since surgery :) Fluffy hair at front...waiting for it to get a bit longer and then i can stop wearing hats!
