TLDR: I wanted a natural look- my boobs but better if you will. Dr. Jerome Liu understood my goals. He’s extremely precise and I am obsessed with my results! My healing has been smooth without any complications. Highly recommend Dr. Jerome Liu :) My stats: Early 30s 5’5” 125-130 lbs 265 cc Motiva round, smooth, demi profile Subfascial placement 34A -> 34C I’ve wanted a breast augmentation for so long but wanted to wait until my frontal lobe develops before making any major body/life-changing decisions. I’m in my early 30s now and I love my body. I feel “womanly” despite small breasts. I don’t think I was missing anything but I just wanted a little OOMPH. Not saying you have to wait for surgery but I feel like it takes time to make peace with any changes to your body. Also it takes a lot to entrust your body in someone else’s hands. I did research for years and kept tabs on surgeons I felt aligned with my goals. I personally only consulted with Dr. Jerome Liu. From the initial consultation, I felt like he understood what I wanted. I came with a bunch of questions prepared and he took time to answer each one. The initial consult really made me feel reassured moving forward. I also want to thank his patient coordinators Noel and Kelly for being so helpful throughout this entire process. I’m about 3 weeks post-op and will update more along my healing journey! Updated on 2 Apr 2025: I’ve added a bunch of photos as an update Updated on 3 May 2025: Healing has been so easy! It was maybe slightly uncomfortable week 1 and 2 from the sutures. But from then on, I feel like they’re a part of me. My incisional scar perfect blends with my crease so it’s not very visible. I’m working on lightening it and using silicone scar sheets. I think the placement of the implants is perfect. I have a good amount of cleavage without a bra and even more so with one. I go back and forth whether I want to get them bigger but I do think they look perfectly natural for my body. Boob greed is real but it doesn’t mean bigger is better!! I was afraid that a highly cohesive implant would feel fake. But I personally can’t even feel the implant from my own tissue which is pretty cool. My natural breast was soft but had a firmness to it and the implants feel exactly like that :) overall so happy still and so glad I went with Dr. J Liu
TLDR: I wanted a natural breast augmentation (BA) and I'm sooo happy with my results. Dr. Liu is an excellent surgeon and his team is top notch. My boobs really do look like mine but better :) My stats: 5'5" 125-130lbs BWD: 11-11.5 Implants: 265 cc Motiva, smooth/round Projection: Demi (moderate) Placement: subfascial I've wanted a BA for years now but I wanted to make sure my frontal lobe developed before I make any life/body-altering decisions. I'm so glad I did because honestly I'm at a point where I love my body naturally (early 30s). I feel like a woman despite having small breasts. So when I decided to get implants, it was just because I wanted a little more OOMPH. Not because I feel like I was missing anything :) Not to say you should wait to feel this way but it was my personal decision to wait. I only consulted with Dr. Liu. I know girls tend to consult with many surgeons and I do recommend doing your due diligence, however, Dr. Liu checked all of my boxes. He met my standards in terms of professionalism, aesthetic eye, patient outcomes. So IMO, there wasn't a need to look elsewhere. His patient care coordinator, Noel also helped seal the deal with her professionalism and warmth. I'm so thankful to them both for answering all of my endless questions. Also, major shout out to patient care coordinator, Kelly, who also helped tremendously during the process. I never felt like my questions or requests were dismissed by Dr. Liu or his team. I'm 2 weeks post-op and I'll share more as I heal! Good luck on your journey girlies!
I am 3 days post-op and Dr. Liu made me so comfortable and has been very amazing! Looking forward to my follow up as my breast augmentation is healing great and fast! He is definitely really great at what he does
I had a facetite procedure with Dr Tom Liu 3 days ago and I couldn’t be more happy with this experience, as well as my results. I’m 38 and the past couple of years I started to notice a little bit of sagging and fullness in my neck. What I liked about facetite is it tightens the neck as well as my lower face and I definitely had fullness in my lower face. Procedure day was great! I took some Valium to help me relax. Dr. Liu carefully marked me and made sure I knew what he was going to do and that I was happy with the plan. Numbing me up was the worst part, but even so, it was completely tolerable, especially with the Valium on board. He was gentle and took his time and after just a couple minutes I was numb and then felt no pain the rest of the procedure. He had some good music playing, I was able to talk if I needed to and he made sure to check in with me throughout the treatment. When we were done his extremely kind and knowledgeable assistant put a compression wrap on me, and then I was on my way home. When I got home I started icing and kept my head elevated. I took two doses of pain meds but honestly I probably didn’t even need it. The next morning I woke up with zero pain, unless I touched the treatment areas. But I’m on day three and haven’t needed a pain med, except for that first day. I only have three tiny sutures. One behind each ear and one of the chin. My neck is SNATCHED and I’m so happy with this whole experience so far and really glad that I decided to do it. I had no idea my neck could look this good, I can’t wait to see how it looks in a couple weeks when all the swelling goes down and the bruising fades. Highly recommend FaceTite with Dr. Liu.
Dr Jerome H. Liu is an amazing natural doctor! When he asked me what I was looking for I said something to fit my body and for me to still be able to hide it. He suggested 285cc or 300cc(gummy bear)! I had said 300cc but I went home and did the rice in a sock method. Every night, I tried on both. I was a little more daring and tried on 330cc. I booked my surgery and I ask for them to be bigger. He said "how much bigger do you want them" and I said 330cc. He looked at me and he said “that's not much of a difference”. LOL He didn't allow me to go bigger than that because he would have to create a new crease. Something about the baseline of my original breast folds being the foundation to it holding in place. He had place the same size implants in both of my breast. I was a little worried that it was going to look uneven because my left side is a little lower and bigger. Other drs used different size implants to make them "look" even. I asked him why he doesn't do that either. Something about one being heavier than the other and over time one will get more saggy. After he explained his many reasoning of his technique i knew i was able to trust him not only with this surgery but with my life also! When I had woke up from surgery I looked down and thought “wow i should have gone bigger”. It’s so weird you think you’re going to wake up with these crazy huge boobs and you really don’t. All in all, yes i pushed to go a little bigger but it was my decision with his guidance! I’m extremely happy that i did go bigger because when they had dropped and fluffed they were exactly how i imagined them to be in my head. They look good in clothes and they still look big enough without clothes plus the placement of them makes them look even too! I went from a 32A to a 32D. Thanks Dr Liu I LOVE MY BOOBIES!
I never really felt bothered by my cellulite. I always just thought it was something I would have to deal with, best I could do is make adjustments to my wardrobe, swim suits, and underwear to cover it up. To my surprise, I learned there was a very simple, minimally, invasive, minimally uncomfortable procedure that permanently removes the dimpling caused by cellulite, and the whole process took less than 2 hours! The Avéli procedure is no less than amazing! Coupled with the Alastin Skincare ReFORM and RePAIR, I saw results almost immediately. Over the weeks, my thighs and buttocks are dramatically more smooth and firm. I would 100 percent recommend the Avéli procedure to anyone who is bothered by cellulite and dimpling in lieu of a more invasive, more costly procedure like Liposuction or Brazilian Butt Lift. You won’t regret it!
Dr. Liu made me feel safe, cared for and very well informed during my entire journey. He didn't just answer questions, but rather helped educate with specifics and reasoning in a simple way for someone without medical background to understand. I never felt rushed or hurried in any of our meetings. His entire team is extremely detail oriented, prompt, informative and especially caring. You can truly tell Dr. Liu is passionate about his profession, METICULOUS and understands the heightened anxieties of undergoing the procedure with little ones at home. I am THRILLED with my results and although recovery was intense, I would do it all over again! I would recommend Dr. Liu to anyone considering the procedure, it is a big step but one I was so thankful to take with the guidance and encouragement of his team!
Dr. Liu and his team are true experts. Early December 2023, I had a tummy tuck, breast lift, liposuction and fat transfer (into breasts), and my experience with Dr. Liu and his team was nothing short of EXCELLENT. Dr. Liu spent the time explaining my range of options, shared his professional expertise on what would give me the results desired (even if different than what I walked in asking for), and with his team provided me with an end-to-end wonderful experience. While the lead up, surgery, and aftercare itself were fantastic, Dr. Liu had a wonderful eye for what would be great for my frame and my aesthetic (wanting natural!). My breasts and TT incisions look amazing, but I have to say the lipo results are over the top fantastic. The flank (love handle) liposuction was done so well that it looks like I received a new tush! Waist is snatched, bum and breasts lifted. Feeling and looking amazing. With respect to my recovery, my pain management was so much better than I expected and my after care was attentive and effective. I'm so grateful for my experience with Dr. Liu and the SVIA team. I only wish I'd had my procedure earlier.
I had been wanting a breast augmentation for as long as I could remember and I finally got my boobies done on January 19th! I must say I am super happy with my experience with Dr. Tom Liu! He is truly a master of his craft and I never once doubted choosing to go with him. My surgery day went by like a breeze. The staff at the surgery center had nothing but great things to say about him and consistently assured me that I was in the best hands. I wanted to make this review to not only recommend Dr. Liu to anyone interested in getting a breast augmentation but also to share what low profile implant results look like. There weren’t a lot of reviews with low profile implants so it was hard to find good reference photos. I hope this post helps any ladies looking for a small boost! I’m 5’3 and 124lbs. My bwd is 13 cm. I got sientra 250cc on the left and 280cc on the right. I will be honest- I am experiencing a little bit of boob greed! However, this is exactly what I asked from Dr. Liu and he delivered! The goal was to fill out my tops more and achieve a more natural appearing result. I also wanted the option to dress my breasts up or down so low profile was the best option for me. I am a week post op so there is still quite a bit of swelling. I’m excited to see my final result once I’m fully healed. Updated on 6 Feb 2024: I feel like they’re settling in and softening up pretty quickly. I’m loving my results more and more everyday. I have occasional zingers that last maybe 2 seconds then go away. Other than that, I’m healing nicely. I’m feeling grateful and happy with the sizes I went with! My family and friends have told me they look so natural! Updated on 29 Feb 2024: I have officially hit 6 weeks post op. The recovery has been painless and quick! My nipple sensitivity has finally returned to normal. I never lost it but it was hyper sensitive the first 1-4 weeks post op. I started out wearing AA or A cups and today I’m fitting a C cup perfectly.
I am not one to write reviews...good or bad, but there is no way I was going to pass up the opportunity to share my experience with Dr. Liu and the master surgeon that he is. My breast augmentation has been years in the making...like literal YEARS. I have wanted to increase my bust size since 8TH GRADE! That's right...I was 13 years old and my best friend was gifted by the boob gods the minute puberty hit. The envy was REAL. My natural size was always around a 34A-36B. All the push-up bras and chest exercises in the world would bring me no closer to my dreams. The only reason I didn't end up with a pair of big beautiful implants sooner was my desire to breastfeed my future children and a lack of disposable income. I religiously followed other reviews on Real Self, convinced I would have to travel to Miami or Orange County to seek out the premier plastic surgeon. I would scroll through countless photos of women with my same body type (height/weight), making mental notes on size, placement, recovery necessities, pre-op supplements, etc. I was blessed with my awesome kid approx. 6 years ago and breastfed until she was a little over 2 years old. Occasionally my engorged breasts were made of dreams! They looked amazing, but alas, temporary. I was lucky to never have issues with sagging, but the little volume I once had left as soon as preschool started. This is when my search for a plastic surgeon started to become a real option. I would save money every month, not knowing how much I would need, especially with the changing economy and global impact Covid had on elective cosmetic procedures. There are several well-known surgeons in the Sacramento area, some have even performed breast augmentation mommy makeovers on close friends. But their before/after work online wasn't convincing me that they were MY surgeon. I have always said, "If I'm laying down, I still want my breasts to stand up." I wasn't looking for the "natural" result, but I also didn't want to be a guest on "Botched". This January, I happened across a review for Dr. Tom Liu and his practice Silicone Valley Institue for Aesthetics (SVIA). Not only was the review extremely flattering, but I found myself impressed with every single one of his before/after gallery photos. Booking a consultation with Dr. Liu felt like a no-brainer. While I don't believe I personally knew anyone that had gone to him, his work spoke for itself. Dr. Liu has multiple office locations, but luckily for me there was one in the Sacramento Area (although I probably would have travelled!) My consultation was in March and I booked the same day for an breast augmentation with an internal galaflex mesh bra this November! Dr. Liu was incredibly professional, took his time to explain everything, even answered my "silly" questions. Even though I come with a healthcare background, he did not rush through any information. His process was thorough and I never felt pressure to add-on a breast-lift or mommy makeover. Dr. Liu made it clear that he wanted to give me the aesthetic that I wanted to achieve, in a realistic manner. There was no judgement of my request for larger implants and he made sure his focus was on me and not my boyfriend when it came to understanding what MY goals were. In addition, Dr. Liu's front office staff and medical staff were sweet, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience comfortable and enjoyable. Two weeks prior to my surgery, I met with Dr. Liu at the office again to narrow down final sizes and profiles for my implants. I was 145lb, 5'3" at my pre-op appointment. We decided together that to achieve the aesthetic I was going for, I would need a 575-620cc high profile implant that would be placed sub-fascially through an infra-mammary incision, along with the galaflex internal bra. My goal was to have 620cc on both sides, and Dr. Liu said he would try to achieve this, but I deferred to his discretion if I needed different sizes in order to achieve the most symmetrical look. I opted for the internal bra because the implants are on the larger side and I wanted to decrease the chance of the implants "bottom-ing out" or migrating laterally off my chest wall. The galaflex would be placed through the same incision as the implants, but would require bi-lateral drains that would be removed approx. a week after surgery. The drains would help minimize the odds of developing a hematoma or capsular conracture. Dr. Liu also uses local nerve blocks at the ribcage in order to minimize pain for the first 24 hours and potentially less use of narcotic pain medications during the recovery. All of my pre & post op medications were available for me to pick up a week before my surgery at my pharmacy and then the waiting game began! Day of Surgery: I took a prescribed Valium so that would actually sleep and then an additional dose on the way to the surgery center. I was his first surgery of the day so I was there by 6AM! The check in process was a breeze and the nurses at the surgery center were kind and helped ease my nerves through laughter. Dr. Liu stopped into my pre-op room and drew all of the landmarks and measurements directly on my chest, explaining everything again with such precision and compassion. He joked about being OCD and I told him that I wouldn't have picked a cosmetic surgeon who wasn't OCD! I took my prescribed Gabapentin and put on a Scopolamine patch prior to meeting the Anesthesiologist, who assured me he would not tape over my eyelash extensions (probably my biggest concern for the last 48 hours!) The last thing I remember was scooting onto the OR table from the gurney and telling Dr. Liu that was as long as I had ever remained awake prior to surgery (I typically don't make it out of pre-op!) He told me to try and remember what the first song was during surgery, but once I closed my eyes in the OR suite, there was no remembering anything! 2 hours later, I awoke in recovery....NAUSEOUS!!! No pain, incredibly groggy, but so so nauseous. The recovery nurse gave me some IV zofran but nothing was helping. I had nothing to actually throw up, but my stomach was doing flips. The Anesthesiologist checked in on me as well, because the only words I could say repeatedly were "I'm just so nauseous!". My boyfriend helped put my pajamas back on and the nurse taught him how to empty my drains. I remember being so grateful to know how to perform this task, because he has a pretty weak stomach when it comes to anything medical...but he powered through and I made a promise to him in my head that I would take care of it all once I was more alert. The drive home was smooth, I never threw up, but continued to say how nauseous I was...I'm sure he was thankful nothing ever came up! At home..I slept...HARD. It was glorious! When I woke up about 3-4 hours later, the nausea was gone, I still didn't have any pain, but I was starving. Plain toast has never tasted so good! Around 5pm that night, Dr. Liu called to check on me and let me know that the surgery went extremely well. He was able to put 590cc on my left side and 620cc on my right side for near perfect symmetry! I had asked him to take a photo in the OR, which he usually does not like to do, but because I am a nurse, he obliged and sent me the image that night! They were PERFECT! If I was a crier, I would have been balling! Because my first follow-up appointment falls during the holidays, one of his very skilled medical assistants will evaluate my drains and remove them if I have had adequate output. If not I will wait until the following week to have Dr. Liu remove them. My plan is to return to work in 2 weeks after my surgery and so far I feel like that is an attainable goal! Post Op Day 1: A breeze on the pain front, but my arms/chest/back were sore and tight. Because the implants are not under the muscle, I have no animation or squareness to my implant. I also started taking Bromelian and Arnica to reduce inflammation, swelling and bruising around the clock. The only medication I am required to take until completion is Keflex (antibiotic) and I have Tylenol, Valium, and Oxycodone for pain relief and muscle stiffness. I am also swollen...like 6-8lb of inflammation. I can feel like in my sternum, back and abdomen. Bleh. Post Op Day 2: A harder day to start, I slept through my timing of pain medication at night and was trying to play catch up all day. The pain is hard to describe, as it is mostly just chest tightness, but I started getting "zingers" to my left nipple with movement and OH MY GOD...those are f*cking awful! Ice packs have become a necessity. The lateral portion of my breasts are numb, so I have to be careful not to put the cold directly on my skin but the ice offers sweet relief! I also empty my drains about 2-3 times a day and the color has improved with every drainage which make me happy! Post Op Day 3: Morning boob...it's a real thing! And it's NO joke! Luckily a little ice intermixed with heat works quite well and I can gently massage the upper and outer poles of the implants. (They are already pretty squishy, I love them!) I tried to stay out of bed today, mainly because the kids were home and I wanted to be with them, so I set up on the couch and we watched holiday baking shows while I shopped on Amazon for breast icepacks meant for engorgement so I wouldn't have to steal my daugther's unicorn and flower lunch icepacks anymore! I can tell when I overdue movement or wait to long between pain medications, so I will try to be better about it tomorrow. Post Op Day 4: Better...it's just better. The nipple zingers are still fully in effect...100% do not enjoy those. Pain is still minimal, but I took an Oxycodone to stay on top of the pain...forgetting that I no longer had the relief of the scopolamine patch and the nausea/room-spinning immediately hit me...YUCK! Luckily Dr. Liu also sent me a prescription for Zofran so I took that and it seems to have helped. I will actually try to just take Tylenol from now on because the narcotics do not agree with my stomach at all. The drainage color continues to improve and lighten, so I remain hopfeul the drains can be removed tomorrow. A new experience is the intense itching at the incsional sites and drain sites under the tegaderm. If this is the most discomfort I have to experience other than my suprise nipple lightning bolts...I'll take it! No showering until after tomorrow's post-op visit but nothing a quick sponge bath hasn't taken care of! Updated on 27 Nov 2023: Day 5-Day 10 Do you know what makes all the difference in the world….DRAIN REMOVAL! I should have known, but omg…the pressure drains create when working properly…OOPH! I had my “week” follow up on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving with the office staff at SVIA. They were all incredibly sweet and accomodating, even during the holiday season! My little one waited in their gorgeous lobby and ate chocolates with the girls while one of Dr. Liu’s staff did my check up and drain removal. It was literally the oddest feeling having the drains pulled. The process was fast, no pain, just lots of pressure and a good nerve zing. And then all sudden I could breathe! The days prior, there was so much pressure and I assumed alot of that uncomfortability was due to normal surgery aches and the fact I had large implants inserted, but all of that extra pressure was immediately gone! A literal breath of fresh air! I stopped taking narcotic relief Day 5 and only continued on Tylenol, Valium, Arnica & Bromelian. Oh and the antibiotics. The Tylenol/Valium was only as needed so I would take before bed and first thing when I got up, as my chest definitely felt tighter first thing in the morning. Also of note, with the surgical technique that Dr. Liu performs (under-fascial), it was actually not recommended to use a “breast-band” over my chest as the implants are already close to where they would sit normally in their pocket. I was also instructed on how to lightly massage in order to encourage the “drop & fluff” that all patients look for…although I did not find that this was needed as they are already settling incredibly well on their own. The bruising has remained minimal and my scars are still under surgical glue but I got to take a real shower that evening and it couldn’t have been more welcomed! Of note, my nipples are more sensitive than usual (I guess I am lucky I haven’t lost feeling!) I am almost tempted to try silicone nipple flowers, as they get sore under clothing. A great find that I purchased was “engorgement” icepacks that nursing mothers use during breastfeeding…LIFE-ALTERING, and easily found on Amazon! I will continue to recommend these to friends under-going similar procedures. They are so helpful with the soreness and swelling…can be heated or put in the freezer, depending on needs. I have found that wearing a breast band BELOW my breast sometimes relieves the “heaviness” of the implants but I have found myself wearing it less and less. Just a light bralette. I still fit all of my tops which was a welcomed suprise! But I did get to Black Friday shop for some new bralettes to wear for work! Purchased mostly through Cosabella & Spanx (I will update with photos/fit once they arrive.) I actually plan on fully returning to work at 2 weeks post-op! This feels unheard of! I wish I could take credit for this recovery journey due to the gift of genetics…but alas…this entire experience has been in thanks to the artistry of Dr. Liu! Updated on 27 Nov 2023: For whatever reason, the photos uploaded poorly the first time and the way this site works, you cannot just update the photos in the review, so no I have had to add them again, a little frustrating but I want to make sure I keep this review as up to date as possible, given how happy I am with the results!
Thank you for your posting and submitted photos! A Mommy Makeover can include a variety of different procedures, and what is included in your surgical plan would be based on your individual goals. Patients who are wanting to remove fat as well as loose skin, and tighten their abdomen area, are typically great candidates for a tummy tuck procedure as it addresses all of those concerns. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon near you for an examination. Cost differs by the region you are wanting to have your cosmetic procedure. It can be helpful to call a few offices near you to get an accurate range. Best of luck!
Thank you for your posting! These two procedures are best done separately as one procedure requires a patient to be laying face up, and the other requires a patient to be laying face down. Also, in terms of recovery, a patient who has had a BBL will need to avoid sitting or laying on their bottom for at least two weeks to help prevent fat reabsorption. This isn't possible if these procedures are done at the same time. Consult a board-certified plastic surgeon regarding your individual surgical plan to ensure your safety and satisfaction with your results. Good luck!
Thank you for your posting! Many of the moms in our office ask this same question. It is definitely important to know this information ahead of time so you can plan accordingly. After an augmentation-mastopexy procedure, it is best to avoid lifting anything over 5 lbs for at least six weeks. However, you should consult your board-certified plastic surgeon regarding his or her postoperative protocol and it can be unique to each surgeon. Good luck in your upcoming procedure!
Thank you for your posting! It is very common to feel "stuffy" after rhinoplasty. This is a result of the swelling during the healing process, and it can take some time for this to subside. Many surgeons prescribe a nasal spray to help with this discomfort. Consult with your board-certified plastic surgeon regarding any additional recommendations for you. Congratulations on your procedure!
Thank you for your question! The space between your breasts is called the intermammary distance. During your examination at your consultation appointment, your surgeon likely measured this. This measurement is important to consider when marking and preparing for surgery, and it is unique to each individual patient. This distance can be addressed with surgery, but results can depend on the patient's anatomy. Consult your board-certified plastic surgeon regarding your concerns.
