Q: How will scar tissue from previous lipo affect second round of lipo?
Answered by Dr. ClaytonJune 27, 2017

A: Thank you for your question. Generally any type of revision procedure is more difficult than the primary procedure. Liposuction create scar tissue regardless of postoperative complications like a seroma.  Generally, the skin does not redrape as well after a secondary procedure. It's often necessary to remove the excess skin in order to get the maximum amount of tightening affect. Without examining you it's difficult to say what your particular situation would require. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

Q: At What Age Do Your Breast Stop Developing?
Answered by Dr. ClaytonMay 17, 2017

A: Your breast are not fully developed until you're been pregnant and have breast fed. Normal growth is generally finished in your late teenage years to early 20's. That being said, your breast will continue to change in size and shape as you age. When you're younger, your breast are more glandular and dense. As you age, the breast tissue gradually become more fatty. If you gain and or lose weight you'll notice the size and shape or your breast change. Gravity will always affect your breasts.

Q: Is it normal to have a lot of trapped wind after surgery?
Answered by Dr. ClaytonMay 17, 2017

A: What you're experiencing is mostly likely some trapped air around the implant. This condition is generally harmless and will gradually resolve over time.

Q: What is Hemosiderin Staining and How Long Does It Last?
Answered by Dr. ClaytonJanuary 31, 2017

A: Thanks for your question. Hemosiderin staining is bleeding underneath the skin. The iron from the blood gets deposited in the skin. It takes a long time to resolve because a full skin cycle (meaning the amount of time it takes for the skin to turn over) is 16 weeks. If the hemosiderin gets into the deeper structures of the skin, it can take even longer to resolve - years. Sometimes the staining in the skin is permanent. Treatment with the Alexandrite laser can speed the process along. Hope this helps!
