I chose Dr Clayton because of his amazing bedside manner and before and after photos. Getting a breast reduction has always been a plan but life and breastfeeding push it out. While I was waiting, I did go to Mexico and have a tummy tuck (you can find those results on my profile). Even though Dr. Clayton was my first choice, I couldn't resist the pricing and insanely good results I was seeing. Unfortunately, it proved to be a mistake as I had a very large scar opening that I had to have taken care of her. That's how I originally found Dr. Clayton. He spent weeks healing me up and closing me open wound. He was absolutely incredible and I knew then that I wouldn't have done surgery with anyone else. Skip to March - I ended up with a very strange shape because of the way that the tummy tuck was done in Mexico. I had lost all of my curves. I was sure that I wanted to move forward with the breast reduction and augmentation through Dr. Clayton. But I grappled back-and-forth if I should also add all the liposuction to fix the fat pockets and give me back my curves. I research a couple other alternatives that are claiming to be a lot more aggressive to get your results, most notably MIA Aesthtics with Dr Van Borem. Dr. Clayton assured me that he is extremely aggressive and could give me the results I want. Dr. Clayton's nurse Quinn goes above and beyond and really makes you feel so welcomed while you are in the lobby, quotes and check ups. This was another reason I choose him over MIA. As I found them much more sales oriented and hard to contact. Dr. Clayton literally gave me his personal phone number to text with any issues! How could you not feel important? As of 4/8 I went into surgery doing a breast reduction with a small implant; Lipo on my chin, all of my back and all of my stomach and fat transfer to my butt. The results are still in the making but I'll continue to update with pictures as I progesss
Dr. John Clayton did an amazing job with my recent surgery to repair my abdominal wall separation (diastasis) after my 4 children were born. I’d been living with constant back pain and no core strength and I can’t recommend him highly enough. The surgery had the side benefit of flattening my stomach at the same time, so he is now one of my favorite people on the planet! He’s very confidence-inspiring, competent and put me at ease and calmed my fears. My husband is a physician, so it was also pretty important to him to find someone that we both trusted. Can’t recommend him highly enough!
5’5” 170 36G cup- hoping for D. After meeting 2 different doctors I chose the one who seemed to hear what I wanted a little more. In the end I am wanting for sure a lift and reduction. I (attempted) to breastfeed 4 kids, and now that season of life is behind me- I am ready to take the plunge. My insurance approved the procedure with a requirement of 575 g per side according to the shnur scale. I wasn’t sure if that much of a reduction was right for me, so we are paying for the procedure out of pocket . Updated on 17 Apr 2018: *rant post* I keep getting feedback from people I tell about the choice I’m making. One remark I seem to keep hearing is “well your body is not very slim so why would you want smaller breasts?” Did I miss something? Just because I am a curvy girl - it does not mean that I should be doomed to a lower quality of life with size G breasts. Also, do they think I don’t know my body is? I dress my body every morning, I understand what size my body is. Good riddance to these large boobs- about 8 weeks to go! Updated on 2 May 2018: So now that it is officially May, I can tell myself that my breast reduction is in approximately one month. It seems like since I have scheduled my appointment that they have become even more bothersome than they used to be and I just can’t wait for a pretty new set of girls! Updated on 31 May 2018: 11 days until surgery! Final pre op today, Dr. Clayton was so nice. He spent a good 20 minutes and answered all my questions, making me feel validated all the way. We discussed after use of blood thinners because I do have a clotting factor. He is very confident and reassuring. The final plan is to remove around 350 ccs (and a lot of excess stretched skin to bring me down to a D/DD cup, approx 2/3 cup sizes smaller. Smaller and higher nipples. I’m getting nervous, I bought this bralette today at cosco, I couldn’t resist. This is my goal bra to wear comfortable without popping out on all sides. Updated on 31 May 2018: Updated on 10 Jun 2018: Geez so many pre op updates! This is one of my last pics with big saggy boobs! Getting nervous hope I can sleep. Surgery is not until 2:30, I might be a little hangry by the time I get there Updated on 10 Jun 2018: From the side- Tata , big tatas Updated on 11 Jun 2018: 400 from each breast. Surgery was a breeze! Why was I nervous so easy and quick. Just pain at the incision sites- more to come. Updated on 11 Jun 2018: 400 g removed each side, which prob means I had dense tissue, original plan was about 350, I requested to have him take a little more if it was very dense. Also get a very small amount of lipo in this patch of fat between chest and armpit. So I have bruising in that area. Very little bleeding during surgery, means I was able to drive home- 2 1/2- 3 hours. We stopped multiple times and walked. We walked for an hour around in cosco! It felt so good. I have my embolism stockings on, just took my first blood thinning shot, pain pill, and antibiotic. I have pillows stacked up all around, laying here my chest feels so light. I just feel like a weight lifted. Hooray! Updated on 12 Jun 2018: This post is about drains specifically. I am glad that I am have them. yesterday six hours after surgery my right drain had 60 mL and the left had 20 -they have been continually filling up and I feel like if I have not had these drains that I would be heading down the road of a hematoma. so I’m so glad for my doctor for watching out for me and even tho they are causing a little bit of pitching on the sides they’re really not as bad as I would think that they would be Updated on 14 Jun 2018: The big reveal! Gauze off and drains out today. I’m am shocked with the size- although it is what I wanted, they look so itty bitty to me. I have noticed that they don’t hang- and aren’t heavy. I don’t have to reach around them. Today I wore a size SMALL shirt. Oh boy- I’m can’t explain how excited for my new life. Stitches out in another week. I am getting ready to take my first pre p shower sans garbage bag poncho. Updated on 16 Jun 2018: Oi! Positives first -I can feel both nips since the first day -my chest is significantly smaller! -my nips are significantly higher - I feel pretty good, I am taking half a pain pill as needed, not on a schedule - I can reach a little ways with my arms and pick up my baby if I’m careful - I can shower /bathe Negatives - this bruising ouch- trying to maintain a good diet and using dry brushing to help it along. Also using an Arnica/msm/hemp cream on the bruising. - the bottom of my breasts are numb. It is freaky to touch that area and not feel it - I am still wiped out bad by the end of the day. -swelling , I woke up this morning extremely swollen and have been icing all day every area besides the nipple, and it is outside my clothing but it helps so much. - if I try to reach a little too far- OWie! Trying to remember my limitations. - I started my monthly. So I am getting double whammied. Yuck Updated on 20 Jun 2018: Today I am seven days out from my procedure. I am wearing a strappy jumpsuit because it’s HOT outside. I feel so lightweight and confident. Yesterday I finally felt like I’ve turned a corner with my healing I have more energy, and the bruises are starting to fade. I begin going through my bras and getting rid of some of the contraptions that have kept me a prisoner for these past years. When I tried them on I am surprised at how tight they are and how much they dig into my ribs. On at least a few of my bras I have Band-Aids or extra bits of fabric sewn on so they didnt create sores where they rubbed my skin. One of my older bras is wrinkly in the cup and that makes me so excited. One week out I hope that I continue to be a bit smaller as the swelling goes away. Now these bras go out with the trash, as they are in pretty rough shape, this is a symbolic breaking free from the chains. Updated on 20 Jun 2018: Day 8 - healing and moving on Updated on 21 Jun 2018: Updated on 24 Jun 2018: -Original pre-op in November -2nd pre-op in May, 2 weeks before surgery -surgery June 11 -follow up post op - unbandaging, drains out 3 days after surgery -2nd post op follow up 10 days after surgery, stitches out -3rd post op will happen, 4 1/2 weeks after surgery I am so happy with how things are turning out. I am happy with the size, although at first it was a shock. I am leaving my tape on at the suggestion of my PS, it is supposed to help keep the incisions moist and allow the scars to heal flat. He gave me an option to use scar gel, but tbh I am terrified of taking off the tape and having my incisions pop open. I feel much more secure with it on and i am not in a huge rush to see my incisions until I am further along in the healing process. They don’t bother me much and I just wash over the top. ***can we talk stitches out for a minute tho? The process of taking them out didn’t bother me, well I had heebie jeebies about it. After they were out, I felt quite a bit of pinching especially in the incisions near my armpit. I think the incisions were leaning on those stitches and with them out there was a transfer of weight onto the internal stitches. So I used ice and my arnica gel, and it is now 3 days later starting to ease up. But gosh I have been getting the dreaded zingers. I am still using my orange juice and protein shakes religiously, I want these babies healed for summer. I plan to update in just over 2 weeks (pending I have no complications) when I get my final before and afters from the doctor. Updated on 24 Jun 2018: Next time I will get my bellybutton in the picture Updated on 25 Jun 2018: Yo! Couldn’t be smooth sailing this whole journey could it? I have decided I do have mondors cords certainly on the left, and possibly on the right as well. That would explain the pinching and discomfort of my bra rubbing certain areas. I will be contacting my PS about them, and seeing what his opinion-the best course of action will be. As I understand they are supposed to go away in their own? Updated on 27 Jun 2018: First time seeing them without tape, gauze and stitches. Prob let them breathe overnight and will apply more tape tomorrow Updated on 27 Jun 2018: Updated on 30 Jun 2018: So I am in this review to be honest- I came down with a horrific yeast infection I think from the antibiotics. And- I found out the piece of fat that is in my armpit- that I wanted/had liposuctioned out- has a name. It is called a tail of Spence- and it is pretty common- who knew? Updated on 13 Jul 2018: Healing, babying these incisions along. Still wearing tape. Still a little sore, in fact as I get more feeling back in my breasts I am tender in different areas. Right is still a little bruised, and has a harder texture on the bottom. Still have swelling that varies day to day. I haven’t had depression but I do have moments of doubt. Are they too small? Majority of the time the answer is NO!!!! I check them out nearly every time I pass a mirror. Sometimes twice! All in all though I can’t complain. I am living my life, wearing clothes more comfortably. I would do this 1000 times over. Updated on 14 Jul 2018: I bought this before surgery with wishful thinking and now! I am not totally healed but it fits pretty good. Hooray for bralettes and being able to wear them. I think I am somewhere in the range of a 36dd at this point. I have a wide chest and rib cage so i don’t have a constant cleavage, something I am super happy about. Updated on 17 Aug 2018: Braless status achieved! I love going braless, these little perky boobs don’t need industrial support. If anyone stops by unannounced I find myself running for a bra! I’m not 100% sure what size they are, I have been wearing xl size in soft wireless bras and my life is amazing. I have tried to occasionally slip on an underwire bra, and after a few hours my scars are so irritated, and my ribs are so squished- I have no idea how I managed along with huge breasts for so many years. There is about a 5/6 inch difference between my rib cage and the fullest part of my bust. They are enough for a little handful, my nips point forward, not down. They are still tender when my 1 year old kicks me in the chest (*-*) my scars are a little red and angry. Once in awhile I get a small Whitehead pimple along the scar line which I believe is dissolving stitches. The ends of my incisions, the scars under my armpits started out a little bumpy but are now smoothing out and softening. My breasts are soft and bouncy, not hard and stiff. Basically all bruising is gone. I can sleep on my back, or my side. I went back to Zumba this week. I bought a bikini top for swimming lol. Now if I could quit looking at tummy tucks ....... and ass lifts ——— Updated on 29 Sep 2018: A couple small things to update. I am attaching a few pictures. First my breasts at 4 months out -have shrunk a bit and softened. They are bouncy and perky. No longer are they heavy and droopy. I have been wearing soft bras and sports bras, I’m not exactly sure what my cup size would be- I guess about a D. Everyday I am so glad to have this chance at a new life! Second, I haven’t seen anyone else post a pic like this- my stitches are sill dissolving and I can see each one- yuck! Hubby calls me the corpse bride- all sewn together. I have experienced a bit of itching through the dissolving process. Third and final picture is an up close view of my nipple, when I saw these small white marks I was confused until I remembered the stitches around my nipple- they are little teeny scars! Like quite a few of them and they are on both sides. My breasts are still tender and I have some keloiding along my anchor incision lines especially near my armpits and the center of my chest. All in all, I am still extremely happy with my results. My external stitches kept my incisions together and prevented any large openings. The internal stitches will eventually dissolve and no longer be visible. I have a tiny dog ear type spot on the right breast where it doesn’t round out perfectly like the left, but it doesn’t bother me enough to go through additional surgery. Can’t wait to see how they look in another 4 months!
I loved working with Dr. Clayton. He was great when I first went in for a consultation. We spoke about my needs and what the insurance would cover. I even had a follow up consultation after the insurance was approved so we could go over more of the actual procedure. The surgery itself was great. He came in before I went back for surgery to do all of the markings on my body and we spoke about what to expect. I have had two follow up appointments with him since the surgery. He cares about my results and how I feel about them. I also had an issue with one of my wounds not closing properly and I was able to text him to see if I needed to come in for a visit. His response time was very fast and I ended up going in and he helped with some additional dressings to help healing. I would recommend Dr. Clayton to anyone!
Excellent overall. So happy I chose Dr clayton! He was so quick to get back to me with any questions or problems I had. Very patient & respectful. He was able to explain things to me in an understandable way & had good reasons to back up his opinions when I asked him what I should do. I am so happy.
Dr. Clayton is fantastic. He was great to answer all my questions during consultation and post surgery. Even giving me his cell number in case I needed to speak to him. He and his staff are very professional and make you feel very comfortable. I am very pleased with my results.
Dr. Clayton is very kind and caring. He is always running on time or early when I come to my appointments, which is very convenient. I had a Rhinoplasty about a year ago and he was very nice before and after the procedure and genuinely cares about all his clients
Was very impressed with the whole job/experience. Very professional. Was hesitant about getting a breast lift and very happy with the results. Hospital staff and doctor was great. Would definitely refer people to him.
Dr. Clayton was amazing! He knew just what I wanted and needed with my breast reduction and followed through. He is easy to work with and was easily accessible for any questions or problems that I had! Great bedside manner. I would highly recommend him!
Dr. Clayton is very professional & kind. He was referred to me by my very well respected OBGYN and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. His staff is caring & answered all my questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Clayton to anyone.
We're you perfectly symmetric before surgery? Based on your pre-op photos - no. Your left breast sits below your right breast. Looking at your post op photo - that asymmetry is magnified. You're also very early in the post operative course and the scar tissue around the implants is going to soften with time (with or without performing massage) and the skin is going to stretch and soften more, resulting in the implants dropping and 'settling'. Give you body some more time. It's too early to be talking about the final result. You may need a lift to get the nipples centered behind the implant. But I think it's early to discuss any type of revision 5 weeks post op.
We're you perfectly symmetric before your breast augmentation? Maybe, but more likely, you were a little asymmetric before and now that you've been augmented with 560cc implants, this asymmetry is more noticeable. I'm sure your plastic surgeon discussed this with you pre-operatively. Your implants will soften and settle over the first 3 to 6 to 12 months. I wouldn't even talk about a revision at this point in time. You need to give your body more time to heal.
If your nipples are sitting at or below the crease beneath your breasts I would tell you - you need a lift. If you need a lift, you need a lift. Going with a big implant to 'fill' out the skin envelope created after prior pregnancies and or weight loss, will causes the skin to stretch more, and the nipple to descend more after breast augmentation (on average about 2cm or an inch). You'll need a lift sooner rather than later. Yes a lift involves a vertical scar - most of the time (unless you just need a small amount of nipple elevation). The best size implant depends on the width of your breast and your goals in terms of volume. Your plastic surgeon can discuss your options more throughly after a careful exam. Hope this information helps.
Which type of implant will be best depends on your breast measurements and your goals. Ultra high profile implants tend to be very narrow and very round. They provide the most projection, but can look less natural compared to other implant styles. The implant should be centered behind your nipple. Based on your photos, you appear to have moderately wide breasts and a moderate profile or possible a high profile implant may be best for you based on your goals. I'm very cautious about using ultra high profile implants. I'm sure you've discussed your goals with your plastic surgeon. If you're looking for a natural look, I'd encourage you to consider a moderate profile implant. But it really depends on the width of your breasts. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your question. You're early in the post operative course. Your implants are going to settle as the skin stretches and the implant capsule softens. I think you'll find that the scars will not be sitting as low as they currently appear. Hope this helps.
