Q: If I were to invest in one procedure to increase my overall attractiveness, what would you suggest?
Answered by Dr. WardDecember 16, 2020

A: Thanks for your question. Based on the photo, I think that you have attractive facial features that could be enhanced with some procedures. Seeing other views of the face would be helpful to try and get a better idea of the 3D structure of the face. Having said that, I think that a rhinoplasty would help as would buccal fat removal. Good luck!

Q: Is it necessary to prep the thick oily skin for rhinoplasty? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. WardDecember 16, 2020

A: I have never heard of that particular regimen to prep the skin prior to surgery and I am not sure how it would improve your result. Having said that, I think that your question definitely highlights the issue of thick skin and how to deal with it prior to surgery. There are some facial plastic surgeons who will have their patients use accutane before and after rhinoplasty to help improve the skin. This can lead to improved results. I think that I would advise you to talk to your doctor about the reasons why those treatments were recommended prior to proceeding.

Q: Mens Closed Rhinoplasty: am I a candidate given the tip ptosis and dorsal hump? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. WardDecember 15, 2020

A: Thank you for your question. A rhinoplasty can be a life-changing procedure. Whether you want to proceed with an open or closed rhinoplasty should be considered after conversation with your surgeon about the pros and the cons of the procedure. In my opinion, the choice of approach to the nose is less important than the overall goal. There are multiple great surgeons in your area. I would look some up, go on some consults and see which surgeon is best suited to you and your goals. I wish you luck!

Q: Callous 1 year post rasping revision rhinoplasty. Is another rasping needed? Should I go with a different doctor? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. WardSeptember 19, 2020

A: Thanks for your question. I would definitely recommend that you discuss with your surgeon. I suspect that your surgeon suggested that you press on the area to see if that resolved the issue. Swelling and scar tissue can be a big issue in rhinoplasty. If the issue did not resolve with massage of the area and with time, you may need to have another procedure and I am certain your surgeon would want to evaluate it. If you are interested in sending a photo of the area, we would be happy to take a look and make further recommendations. Good luck!

Q: Would a revision be necessary? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. WardSeptember 19, 2020

A: The answer to your question about whether you need a rhinoplasty revision or not depends on you and your wishes. Your nose certainly has some issues that can be improved with a revision procedure. Your nose certainly has some issues that can be improved with a revision. I advice that you seek out an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon.
