Comforting and professional ! Alyssa and staff were nothing but professional and comforting from the moment I entered the office. Alyssa performed a cool peel on my face, neck and chest. After topical numbing was applied for 1 hour, it only took 45 minutes. So happy with my results. My skin is fresh and tightened!! I will be back for more procedures. Thank you Alyssa!!
Alyssa Capawana is amazing! She recommended a medical grade skin care routine and a series of laser treatments after listening to my specific concerns. She is professional and informative, but also fun and relatable. I trusted her recommendations and have now completed a series of BBL laser treatments with her that have far surpassed my expectations. My skin is glowing!
I had the “Apeele” chemical peel applied at Dr. Salujas office by Kristy (medical esthetician). I am In the process of receiving microneedling treatments every 4-6 weeks to reduce the appearance of acne scars and scattered hyperpigmentation. Kristy recommended a peel in between treatments to enhance the overall effects of microneedling. My skin has drastically improved after 3 microneedling sessions yet I still received many compliments at work on day 7 post peel. Many people commented on the improvement of texture of my skin. My skin appears softer, brighter and rejuvenated following this peel. I highly recommend this office as the vibe is always upbeat and staff are friendly & courteous.
I am 33 and have dealt with hormonal acne since my twenties, through diet and lifestyle I have gotten through the worst of it, but I still occasionally get breakouts and pretty consistently on my jawline because of PCOS. I went because I wanted to address a scarring area on my cheek that I don't like, but they suggested since I still get jawline and occasional acne to do sebacea laser first. Sebasia kills oil glands by targeting them with gold particles. Because I have sensitive scar prone skin, I researched a lot, (Paithankar, 2015) and studies all confirmed this is a gentle laser and skin should not be damaged, redness should only last about a day and you could go right back to work (Not!!). *I opted not to treat my forehead, since my skin there is much drier than the rest of my face (have not had acne there for over 10 yrs), and I did not want my oil glands being destroyed. Clinician: Beth Perry and assistants Treatment 1: Went as expected, there was pain but it was bearable and only a few spots were really painful (inner cheeks), my pain tolerance is pretty high though. You could smell burning skin in the room and it was hot, they offered me an ice roller afterwards to use myself. Otherwise no pain management or skin care products given. I am glad that I researched ahead and brought my own ice packs for the drive home and knew what cooling skin care to use. I had a painful cyst develop on my cheek, they told me to expect breakouts. Redness lasted until day 3 (I expected this for pale skin), and days 3 -6 I had really flaky, scaling skin. By day seven things look normal. Treatment 2: This treatment was awful, it felt like electrocution by a blowtorch (I later learned I was one of the only ones to go through the treatment non stop). My skin was on fire for days, and this is the first time I have experienced PTSD pain. I would have phantom electrical shock pains In my face the next few days. Redness was much worse and I had track marks going down the right side of my face. By day three it was evident these track marks were going to scab really bad and deep. It looks like she went heavy-handed on the right side, because the left side did not have track marks. The scabs were not healed by day seven. Also they had lasered over the painful cyst, and it was still extremely red from this. By this point I was very worried about scarring, because I could already see around my temple a depression scar was forming. Treatment 3 Cancelled: I shared my concerns about scarring and asked if they could not laser over top of the scabs, Beth said no. Assistant assured me all scarring would heal (no textured scars don't heal) and they worked hard to convince me to get the third treatment. I asked why the pain was so high since the laser maker said participants rated pain a 3. They laughed and said that was marketing, they mentioned that most people need gas to get through this treatment and they have seen grown men crying in tears from this procedure. All things they never mentioned to me before the treatment, and they did not offer pain management at any point. Like I said I have an extremely high pain tolerance, so I had no outburst, but this was terrible pain. I absolutely was not going to risk further scarring, so I canceled treatment 3 since they were unwilling to go around past skin trauma. 1 month: purple track marks are still evident, and that deep scab had finally healed. I could tell there would be scars by my temple and on my cheek where that scab was and over the cyst they had lasered. 3 months- Maybe a little improvement in acne, but not much, I was surprised that I still had the same amount of blackheads in my nose. At this point I was worried about scarring and invested in Marie Veronique skin care, intensive repair serum and gentle retinol treatment. They were game changers for my blackheads and refining my skin. 6 months- I am mostly clear, still get the occasional jawline acne. But it is evident I have 2 new depressed scars on my cheek, and the new scar from the laser on my temple has connected with old scars now forming a line demarcating exactly where the laser started. If you don't have scars I would not risk getting this treatment, particularly if you have sensitive pale skin. I gave two stars cuz there are potentially people who have thicker skin that could handle this. I already had scared skin so what happened is not as heartbreaking, but still sucks.
