I recently underwent a hair transplant at Esteworld Turkey, and it has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish. My intention is to share my harrowing experience to warn others contemplating a similar procedure ay Esteworld in Istanbul. Already from booking the process was unprofessional and stressful. At the airport on my way to Istanbul I received a payment link from an unknown sender also stating that my contact person I had spoken just minutes prior all of a sudden had “left the company”. and I was directed to another person who demanded I paid for the procedure. Very scary, but I was also already at the airport. The new contact person assured me that he actually did work at the clinic and forced me to send money so he could make the arrangements. So I did.. Upon arrival in Istanbul, the promised transportation was nonexistent, forcing me to struggle for one hour to get a cab in the middle of the night. The designated hotel which was supposed to be included had no reservation under my name, causing further delays and frustration. On top of me having to pay myself. Next day after 2,5h sleep my transport that was supposed to be arranged by the clinic was 1,5h late. And at the clinic - they had no idea I was coming! I felt extremely unsafe. On top of that, the clinic itself was outdated and of low standard. I regret not leaving immediately Then to the actual surgery and where the nightmare really begins. I had booked a non-shave transplant. I have long hair and only wanted a little bit more fullness in the folds and since they wouldn’t shave anything in the front, it would even be noticable. Now in hindsight, completely unnecessary and I wish I had never even done it. The nurse asked me why in earth I was doing it, but the doctors insisted I was going to notice a HUGE difference and “of course I should do it and need it”. The process from there was brutal. Without any warning, they shaved the ENTIRE back of my head. I screamed and cried hysterically as soon as I realized what they were doing, but they refused to stop. I’m now bald. I’ve looked at pictures of course of how big the “donor area” normally is and it’s nothing like mine. I look sick, I have no hair left. One would think they would understand that a minor improvement and quite few grafts wouldn’t require a larger area than I’ve seen on anyone else. And that it goes without saying that it might not be worth being bald for a minor improvement. And regardless - a warning or some information about the procedure would be appreciated, at the least! It doesn’t help that they speak very poor English. And the Swedish interpretator isn’t exactly very good at Swedish. On top of now looking like a chemo patient, the few strands of hair that I do have left are now exposed to so much damage so they are just getting shorter and shorter. It will take several years for my hair to even grow back. The aftercare was equally bad. I received a message from someone at the clinic giving contradictory instructions, and when asked for clarification I could not reach them. Even worse because it also said in the intructions and everywhere on the internet that the aftercare is crucial and super important to follow your doctors exact orders. I got instructions to both immediately wash my hair for the first time (which I wasn’t allowed to touch before, it’s super sensitive) and make sure to even use a little bit of force and get rid of the scabs. At the same time they instructed I MUST wait another couple of days for the follicles to really set. So complete opposite instructions. Very unsettling. And I couldn’t reach them. Now, checking around and knowing much more about this procedure and the market - I also learnt that i was completely overcharged. And I still negotiated my price down a lot already. So they will scam anyone. All in all - PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND DON’T VISIT ESTEWORLD!!!!
