This is a great question! One can usually expect to have a speedy recovery in a primary breast augmentation. With newer medications, local anesthetics to block nerves, pathways for muscle relaxants the recovery process; it is much easier than before. Depending on patient body type and goals of the breast augmentation one can expect a little different recovery time period too. If a patient is wanting to augment by several cup sizes it can be associated with slightly more difficult recovery than somebody wanting to augment by a single cup size. I like to minimize the recovery time by using multiple techniques.
This is one of the most common questions for patients. Breast augmentation is widely variable in cost because each patient is different in their goals for the procedure. Depending on factors such as body type, frame, skin type, and look there are a wide variety of implants that meet each goal. The technology is vastly improved from previous versions of the devices but in general saline cost less than silicone. Silicone has different cohesiveness to it and each level that you increase the cohesiveness can cost more. Also, different manufactures (allergen, mentor, sientra) have different cost for similar technology. I would recommend going in for a consultation so that you can see, feel, and learn about the differences between them. At that point you could get accurate information on cost as they very from physician to physician, practice to practice, and patient to patient (as other procedures may be needed).
