About

Doctors

Patients ask me : "Do you enjoy performing Liposuction?" and my response is always the same: "YES!". My goal for each patient is to help them improve their self esteem, renew their contours, help them to return to their "pre-baby" shape, and remove several inches from their waistline.

I'd pick Lipo over a root canal any day

After hitting a roadblock in three different clinics, I was almost ready to throw in the towel on my Lipo dreams. Then, enter Dr. Hennessy—recommended by a friend of a friend, and boy, am I glad I made that call. Maureen, the office manager, was a rockstar—informative, professional, and as welcoming as a warm hug. Finally meeting Dr. Hennessy was a game-changer. He radiated confidence in the...

Q: Bad results from outer thigh Vaser lipo - what has happened? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. HennessyDecember 5, 2022

A: The downside of infusing the Tumescent Anesthetic under your skin prior to the Vaser treatment is that there is a large volume of fluid intermixed with the fat cells which makes it difficult for any surgeon to be certain that (s)he has removed the maximum amount of fat from one segment of the body. Also, many surgeons will quantitate the volume of fat removed from one thigh then try to remove an equivalent volume from the other thigh to maintain equilibrium of the natural curves of the female form. Given the fact that it is a localized issue you have several options to "fix" the lack of harmony; Emsculpt, Vanquish, and other non - invasive treatments vs. a revision lipo of the left thigh.

Q: Bigger on left upper and lower abdomen 2 years post op. What happened to me? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. HennessyDecember 5, 2022

A: One half of a person's body is not a mirror image of itself. Organ sizes differ, nerve locations differ, and fat deposits are not equivalent. That being said, the bigger question is what would help improve the aesthetics of the appearance of your abdomen. #1 Lose weight! It may be simply a difference in the angle of the camera, however I would guess that you have not lost weight during the past two years and I will also go out on a limb and state that in all likelihood that you have gained weight. The most important advice that I share with my patients prior to undergoing lipo is: AVOID gaining more than five pounds post op. The residual fat cells hypertrophy at a variable rate which results in one side being large, lumps and bumps and an uneven appearance of the skin. It is definitely an option to repeat Lipo, go for a laser or electromagnetic therapy, but I would advise investing in personal trainer and a dietician first.

Q: Which procedure would help target stubborn bulge in the abdomen? Concerned about invasive procedures and uneven results (photos)
Answered by Dr. HennessyNovember 21, 2022

A: Judging by your photos and history provided, it is my opinion that you are a the perfect patient for 360 Liposuction. All of my patients present for Lipo: nervous and sleepless but they leave stating:" If only I had known that this would be so easy ...then I would have slept soundly last night". Unlike Coolsculpting, you be able to see the fat that has been aspirated into a container, at the end of the procedure. I suggest that you watch a few educational videos about Lipo and converse with patients who have already completed the procedure. Also, continue your exercise routine, you appear to have elastic healthy skin and good muscle tone which bodes well for your post-lipo body. Hoping this is helpful.

Q: Should I go for my second attempt at Vaser lipo with the same surgeon if there was no change the first time? (photos)
Answered by Dr. HennessyNovember 17, 2022

A: The prior to photos would be helpful. I am unable to see any scars on your skin (perhaps located under your clothes). Do you feel any firm areas on your abdomen? What is the opinion of your lymphatic massage specialist? During your follow up visits with your surgeon did (s)he state that you had achieved 100% recovery? Have you lost or gained weight since your procedure? Sorry I have more questions than answers.

Q: 30 years old, 5'7, 167 lbs, I want zero flanks and a waist, are my Vaser Lipo expectations real? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. HennessyNovember 17, 2022

A: The photos of the athletes/models on the left side of your photos submitted, do not represent the results that could be achieved by any outpatient procedure. This does not mean that you should not consider Liposuction with the goal of having a smaller waistline and a defined hourglass figure. Keep in mind that Liposuction is NOT a weight loss procedure, it is an outpatient procedure that offers refinement of contours and the removal of stubborn fat.Given your height and weight your BMI is 26.15 which is considered overweight. Would it be possible to lose 8 lbs? Then you would have a normal weight, your results would be more impressive, and your recovery would be more timely. You have a nice figure already, but to go to the next level requires life style changes then a procedure. Hope this is helpful.
