32A to 34C - recommend him to everyone

I had been debating getting a breast augmentation for 5+ years and made the decision to have a consult with Dr. Burden. The consultation was great and we addressed all my concerns, he gave me his opinion and reasoning behind why He was suggesting what he was suggesting. I was initially concerned with the amount of CC’s he had suggested (400&425 gummy bear silicone) but decided that he i...

So happy with everything he did - actually feel sexy naked again

Dr Burden did a 50 year makeover for me. From the moment I walked in his office I felt welcome. He was so down to earth and spent time going over everything I wanted. He performed 2 procedures, full trunk liposuction and 8 weeks later an implant exchange and scar revision. I cried when I looked in the mirror after it was complete. They were tears of joy!! I am so happy with everything he did...

Simply Transformational

If you are considering a facial cosmetic procedure, the surgeon you choose will be one of the five most important decisions of your entire life. I’m not being over dramatic. If you get this decision wrong you will be painfully reminded fifty times a day for the rest of your life. No exaggeration. Twenty four hours after my neck/face/brow lift the immense gravity of my decision settled in. ...

Q: Is there a difference in scarring when getting a transaxillary or a inframmary incision?
Answered by Dr. BurdenMay 27, 2018

A: Of the three incisions, Transaxillary, Periareolar, and inframammary fold, the transaxillary incision is under the least tension.  As all Plastic surgeons know, a tension free closure of a wound is highly desirable for wound healing and scar formation.  Using fiberoptic technology, the transaxillary approach has the greatest precision of placement.  I presented an abstract at the SESPRS in Boca Raton Florida clearly showing the low contracture and zero infection rate using the transaxillary technique.  The highest infection rate is through the periareolar incision.  The second highest through the inframammary fold and the lowest through the underarm incision. The implant is placed in the dual plane position using the transaxillary technique which has the lowest contracture rate.  Finally the scar is well hidden in the crease under the arm.  When you are topless the underarm incision is the only incision that is not seen on the breast.

Q: What surgical procedure is doctor KAO talking about when he mentions "the ponytail facelift"?
Answered by Dr. BurdenJune 13, 2017

A: One of the basic procedures indicated from the video, in my opinion, is the endoscopic brow and midface lift.  This is an advanced procedure that only a select group of plastic surgeons has been adequately trained and has experience performing.  The other parts of the procedure contribute to the results, but in my opinion, not in a major way.

When considering facial cosmetic surgery, you should focus on the goals of the procedures, not so much the name of the procedure or the celebrity promoting the procedure.

The advantage of the procedure is the absence of  an incision across the scalp from ear to ear.

Q: I was wondering if I should get electrolysis or laser hair removal for a unibrow?
Answered by Dr. BurdenMarch 4, 2017

A: Electrolysis is somewhat better than plucking the hair.   Laser hair removal can result in a permanent solution but is not as precise and you may end up with an unusual and unequal shape to you eyebrows. If you pluck the eyebrows you can shape them the way you want.  Find someone who is experienced at eyebrow shaping and your long term result will be satisfactory.W MORE

Q: Who is the best to perform an Upper Blepharoplasty? A plastic surgeon or ophthalmologist?
Answered by Dr. BurdenJanuary 6, 2017

A: Both a plastic surgeon and an ophthalmologist experienced with eyelid surgery can give a good result.  Often a browlift is needed in addition to an upper eyelid surgery.  If only the upper eyelid surgery is performed, the rejuvenation of the upper eyelid area with not be complete and the patient will often perceive little improvement following the surgery.  I suggest that you see a plastic surgeon to determine if this is the case for you.

Q: How long do I have to wait to exchange implants to a bigger size?
Answered by Dr. BurdenOctober 6, 2016

A: I recommend that you  wait 3 to 6 months to allow the breasts to become soft and  the post operative swelling to resolve. This may allow for a better selection of the larger implants.
