I had my surgery on October 29, and now six months later, I finally feel like I’ve come back into my body enough to put this into words. The first month… I was in so much pain. My body didn’t respond to the initial medication, and I felt trapped in that discomfort for a bit. But Dr. Desai adjusted my prescription to something that actually worked for me. That moment mattered more than I expected. I also went through post-surgical depression. My nervous system felt scrambled, like I had been unplugged and reconnected slightly wrong. Everything felt distant and heavy at the same time. I don’t think people talk about that enough.
