Partnering with patients for their aesthetic journey
Coming up on 1 year since my BA and I couldn’t be happier! I had the absolute best experience with Dr. Slenkovich and his team. I tend to overthink things, especially with surgery - but his staff was available for me to call at all times with any questions I had post BA. I went with 280cc and am incredibly happy with my results - I definitely wanted something more discreet and natural looking and thats EXACTLY what I got! Whether you’re looking for a bigger look or something more natural, I’d highly recommend a BA to anyone who needs the confidence boost.
Andre is amazing at her job and I love watching her on Denver Body Doc's snapchat. This review was created as part of a nomination to the RealSelf I Love My Injector Campaign.
I am 47 years old and was diagnosed with Lipedema in Jan 2016. In June 2016, I traveled to California to have two surgeries by a doctor that claimed to specialize in lipedema. He removed 4 liters of fat in the first surgery and 3 liters in the second surgery. Unfortunately, I did not lose anything in my saddlebag/outer thighs. That doctor offered to redo the saddlebag area for free... all I had to do was pay for travel expenses and surgery center fee. I decided to consult with local plastic surgeons and I am so glad that I found Dr Nick Slenkovich. After two consultations, he assured me that I would get dramatic results. He was very realistic and did not overpromise... as a matter of fact, I think he under promised and then over delivered. Let me tell you, my results are amazing and I could not be happier. The entire staff at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center have been amazing. Everybody from the front desk to the nurses. On November 28, 2017 I had a lower body lift and liposuction from the knees up. He removed 8,200cc’s of fat. I spent the night at the surgery center and I will say that the nurses were amazing. I had two nurses to attend to me and both gave me top notch care. It truly was a great experience. If you are looking for a plastic surgeon in the Denver metro area, I highly recommend Dr Slenkovich... You will not be disappointed! Photos are thru 4 weeks post op... will post 6 week photos soon
My experience with Lauren Dorsey, RN for facial dermal fillers as well as Dysport for my forehead was both a positive and pleasant experience. Lauren is a highly skilled professional who took the time to know what I hoped to achieve while offering her knowledge on how to best accomplish those results. She explained every step along the way and answered all my questions. In addition to her knowledge and skills she has a great bedside manner and is so pleasant to talk with. I am very grateful to have found her and will be continuing my treatments with her.
People say what's left of your body after childbirth should be a proud reminder of your children. My children are the reminder of my children and now that I'm done have babies I'd like to reclaim my body. Healthy eating and fitness for what I can control and medical assistance for what I can't. I didn't know if I wanted to share my journey publicly but now I believe doing so is a support to others going through the same thing. I have diastasis rectify which leaves me looking 4 months pregnant no matter what I do. I am 5'4, 150lbs. I have chosen Dr. Nick Slenkovich, a double board certified plastic surgeon at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center in Denver CO. Updated on 20 Apr 2018: I had my post op today and everything went well. The 360 degree photos you take were the worst part. Shared my wish pictures again. Weighed in at 150 which was a pleasant surprise because that means my clean eating and extra walks have helped me lose 5lbs in two weeks. My goal was to be as close to my goal weight of 145 by surgery as possible. I'm getting excited and nervous. I've scheduled a ton of post surgery lymphatic drain massage to keep swelling down as much as possible. I've stocked up on post surgery low sodium food and drinks. I'm sharing my wish pictures here. Updated on 1 May 2018: I've already packed my bag, rented a place by the surgery center, scheduled daily LDM, and binge-watched as much as possible to prepare for surgery. I have been battling a light cold so I'm trying to do everything I can to overcome that in advance of the big day. I know I don't want to have a single cough in my first week of recovery! Updated on 8 May 2018: Everything went well, very thankful for my husband being able to take a week off and care for me. Dr. Nick Slenkovich had great bedside manner. He put 1100 cc's per cheek which was more than I expected but a very pleasant surprise. I'm going to post pictures but keep in mind my surgery was today so my backside is a little dimpled but is supposed to smooth as everything softens and fluff. You can't see my waist because of the binder and foam but it was super snatched in the pictures he took for before and after on snapchat. Updated on 9 May 2018: These are the screenshots from the snapshot of my surgery Updated on 9 May 2018: I had my 24 hour follow up this morning and everything went great. Looking forward to my first lymphatic drainage massage today at 2. So thankful I got a walker like my sister in law recommended. Updated on 9 May 2018: Forgot incision photo Updated on 9 May 2018: I had my post Op appointment appointment and everything went great. Updated on 10 May 2018: Most difficult day so far. More swelling and burning but these pictures are after my 1 hour LDM and it brought serious relief! Updated on 11 May 2018: I was sick for 12 hours. Sick like diarrhea over 20 times. I got so dehydrated and didn't have the energy to pick my head up. The Dr told me to stop the antibiotics and colace. I've been better since that. The bruising actually doesn't hurt. What does hurt is my through from the tube during anesthesia and the entry points for my tubes. Updated on 12 May 2018: Worse thing today is the pain in my throat from the intubation. What is working is a throat spray with numbing agent, popsicles, soft food and ice water. Some of the Dimpling and swelling I was worried about in my butt area is reducing which is nice. Bruising is moving around. Drain areas still burn a little. Updated on 13 May 2018: Sore throat is gone, I went out for an hour today for mother's day. Spent half the time in a wheel chair at the botanical garden and half hour with my walker. After my massage I could stand straight up. Bruising is getting lighter. Burning at the drain sites is still there. Updated on 14 May 2018: Still swollen af but bruising is reducing massage was a life saver this week Updated on 15 May 2018: Everything went great at my post Op. I freaked out a little when I accidentally broke the line on one of my drains while trying to milk a clot. The nurse was able to fix it though. By butt measured at 44 inches and my waist swollen and with binder on was 37 so I can't really know that true number for awhile. My incision and belly button were beautiful to me. They want my drains in one more week. I have been so happy with everything and now I'm headed back home. Updated on 18 May 2018: I've been home for 4 days from the condo I rented in Littleton for recovery. It's much easier to recover in a space that's quiet without the goings on of all the kiddos, husband, pets and work. I've missed my massage therapist terribly. Her visits were the highlight of my days and made the healing go by easier. I've had one drain removed and the only instructions for my healing are wiping all incisions with wound care and bacitracin twice a day. I have weekly lymphatic drain massage scheduled until swelling is gone. You will see lots of swelling in my pictures and dimples in my butt however the massage therapist said at week 6 she can start to massage all the that and the scars so that everything is smooth. I take my boppy everywhere and am thankful for all the support around me. Updated on 18 May 2018: Someone asked what my measurements were before surgery and I hadn't taken them but I just found a sheet of paper where I wrote all my measurements for a corset I ordered 2 months before surgery: Under bust: 33 Waist: 35 Hips/butt: 38 I will update here later as my swelling goes down where I'm at. Updated on 21 May 2018: Got my last drain out today! Still sleeping in my recliner, regular lymphatic massage is helping me manage the swelling and I'm almost completely pain free. Went and tried on a few dresses to see how I looked with the swelling in my butt down. Updated on 24 May 2018: Feeling good, back to work, in these pictures you can see I still have the swell especially lower back, mons pubus and left abdominal more than anywhere else. I really believe it's because of the lymphatic drain massage and now lymph tea that I've NEVER had burning that so many describe from their lipo (and I had 360 with aggressive lower back). Started the belly marble this week, glad I found out about it. Updated on 24 May 2018: Obviously make sure you are at the point in healing where you can do this but here's my routine. The entire point is to have a cute, well formed, circular in y or basically as close to your goal as possible. The swelling can cause deformations and outies. I'm uploading in 3 parts because it's too long for rs. PS Yall I'm in swell hell tonight. My dear husband made dinner and after I blew up I looked and it was 1100 MG sodium so sweet of him but I'm dying Updated on 30 May 2018: Still happy, less swollen, headed to a retreat so no LDM for the next 9 days Updated on 9 Jun 2018: You can see the areas that are still swelling very well here in my abdominal area and lower back but better day by day Updated on 13 Jun 2018: I had my 6 week post Op appointment early because I'm going on vacation. Everything went well and the Dr said everything is healing beautifully. One side of my stomach has always been about twice as swollen as the other so the did an ultrasound to see what was going on. That side is just retaining more water but no big pocket in need of extraction like a soroma. The measurement for my butt is down a little however since my waist gets smaller as swelling goes down it makes my butt look a little bigger. Measurements pre surgery, at the height of swelling 1 week out and at 5 weeks : Weight: 155/165/150 Under bust: 33/35.5/32 Waist: 35/37/34 Butt: 38/44/42 Updated on 9 Jul 2018: Abdominal swelling is still happening but I've recently returned to the gym and healing is going well. Weight 151 Under bust 32 Waist 32 Butt 41 Updated on 10 Aug 2018: I'm at 3 months and couldn't be happier. Finally seeing my shape without much swelling and how much of the transfer is staying. I still swell in my upper abdominal area and if I eat too much sodium it can look like I'm 3 months pregnant but I've read that just takes time. Here are my numbers from pre to 3 months post: Weight: 155 to 151 Under bust: 33 to 31 Waist: 35 to 32 Butt: 38 to 41
