The general hospital nurses, doctors and all the support staff from the lobby, lab and kitchen were exceptional. I never felt unsafe or left unattended. I had needed assistance to use the bathroom for several days after my plastics and I was help out of bed, watched over and helped back to bed Every Time! On occasion the the nurse would let me know they was my button push and that she would be back in a few minutes. That was just one of the many ways they went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and support the various surgeons who work out of the Hospital. Everyone I saw made sure I was comfortable and could rest before leaving the room. The food was good especially consider I just had surgery. I choose oatmeal and though it looked runny - well, it was, lighter for the tummy, but was also sweet and creamy. It just gotten better from there as I could handle more.
I was concern honestly ! Specially to go TJ but after seen reviews here and at Yelp I decided o check out the Hospital it actually look pretty nice and clean in all the pictures but before researching Dr Suarez I decided to contact a few top doctors from TJ that has reviews here at RealSelf well the fastest response I got was from Dr Luis Suarez . MJ contacted me right away I got a virtual consult and I got a answer really quick to. She game the price and procedure and available dates she answer all my questions and concerns ! Finally we agree on a date an Head at 4 am from my home got there 7 am by the way Carla the nurse that helped me was awesome. MJ was there super early o welcome me in which it was ice we did all the paper work by 8:30 am they had all the tests and the ekg done and I was ready to go . The only thing I didn’t like was the time I spend with the Dr it was very short and to many people on the one on one with him. by the way he was very profesional answer my few question he told me what he though it will work for me and what he was going to do and he was going to decide after trying a few sizes what worked for me .he did asked me what size I would ideally like ,I told him. he answer me with what was going to work good for me because of my case took some pictures and he left to get ready . After he left they got me into the operating room. I was out in a few hours an wham he’s choice was perfect for me the surgery went well hey game me all the meds instructions and I was set !! By the way the airplane ticket transportation from airport o hospital n back ,meds the bra the one nite stay and food it’s include in the price I couldn’t stay the nite because of family issue We drive here I’m so close to TJ and I wanted somebody with me it’s been 10 days know and boobs are getting better day by day first few days was uncomfortable but it’s normal an part of the process but I’m loving my results so far! once all the swollen it’s down and they settle it will be better by the way I got silicone implants . I trusted Dr Luis Suarez he is a great Job and I love the size he choose for me . I’m really happy with my outcome n the hospital was nice and clean thank MJ for all your help you truly are amazing and Thank you Dr Luis Suarez I can honestly say that you did a better job them my last 2 previous surgeries here in LA thank you . I had my surgery done on July 6th 2017 I'm about 3 weeks post op and I'm loving my results! I went to Tijuana Mex to get my procedures done with Dr. Luis Suárez (Cer Clinic) hospital. I had breast augmentation 350cc round high profile and liposuction in my back only and transfer the fat to my butt (Brazilian butt lift).
I have struggled to lose weight for years. I would lose and then gain it all back but for the last 10+ years I was never able to get beyond 130 lbs. (I'm 4'10"). At my height that is still considered overweight. My highest weight was up to 157.5lbs but where I would stay most of the time was around the 145-147lbs area. For my height, this was considered obese. My husband had VSG in August of 2016 and I saw what it did for him and I wanted the same for me. Besides the fact that I believe that it would be much easier for us to be on the same type program also. Since my BMI was between the 30-39 range I would qualify for the surgery; however, I would not qualify for insurance to cover it. My husband's surgery was covered by insurance (his BMI was 42). I knew there was no way I could afford to pay cash for it here in the US so I started looking for my options and saw that a lot of people go to Tijuana, MX to have this surgery done at a fraction of the price. I talked to my husband about it who I will say was a little skeptical at first. But after seeing more of the research I had found about going to Mexico he was finally okay with it. I searched a lot of different Bariatric companies and doctors and finally settled on Tijuana Bariatrics and Dr. Fernando Garcia. After having it done, now, I can say that I made an excellent choice also! From the first moment I contacted them, I felt comfortable. You are assigned a coordinator who will answer all of your questions and let you know everything you need to know along the whole process. You fly into San Diego and they have a driver pick you up from the airport and take you across the border. You stay a total of 5 nights all together but broken up between the Marriott Hotel and the Hospital. The driver takes you directly to the Marriott to check in for one night. You have the rest of the day to do whatever you want to do. I didn't do anything that evening except hang out at the beautiful hotel. The next morning your driver comes to pick you up at 6am and takes you to CER Hospital where you will check in. They do blood work and then take you to get checked into a room. Before giving you your room they have you read and sign a ton of paperwork. Once you're in your room they do an EKG to make sure your heart is strong enough for surgery and then get you prepped with an IV and compression stockings. There are at least 5 different doctors that come talk with you and ask you all kinds of medical history questions and give you all the information you need to know prior to surgery. The nurses are plentiful as well. They let you know about what time your surgery will take place so you are not just sitting in the room wondering. Mine didn't happen until about 5 pm but the day seemed to fly by actually. When it was time to go they brought a wheelchair for me to ride in on the way down to the OR. I got up out of the wheelchair and got on the surgery table myself. The Anesthesiologist, whom I had met earlier, talked to me a little while I was getting adjusted and then the next thing I remember I was awake asking if it was already over. I don't exactly remember getting off of the table and getting back in the wheelchair but I know I did. The first thing I really remember was immediately walking the halls thinking I'm so groggy. They have you walking immediately after surgery as this helps prevent blood clots. They like you to walk as much as possible. That whole night I felt very tired but the next day I felt great! I had no pain at all. I was surprised I didn't have any from the CO2 that they use to blow up your abdomen. (My husband had quite a bit of pain from that.) I did get nauseated a little the first night but that was due to the anesthesia. It wasn't too bad though. While I was in the hospital there were plenty of nurses available for anything I might have needed. After my 2nd night, a nurse came in around 5:30 am to have me get up and shower so she could change all my bandages and I could get packed up. Before checking out of the hospital they have your driver come pick you up (and your group of others who had surgery the same day as you) and take you to a radiology imaging company somewhere else in Tijuana. The ride over there was a bit uncomfortable to me because the drain is very uncomfortable on bumpy roads. While at the radiology imaging facility they have you drink something with some dye in it so that they can make sure there are no leaks in your new tiny stomach. As long as there are no leaks they take you back to the hospital where they will take the drain out and remove your staples. You pick up all of your things and your driver takes you back to the Marriott hotel to stay for another two nights. The following day, if you would like and if you feel up to it your driver will pick you up and take you on a little tour around Tijuana. This was a fun day out and I recommend doing this if your feeling well enough. (This tour is free however they do accept tips as a form of payment for his time.) The driver will tell you what time you need to check out the next morning so that he can take you back to San Diego airport for you to catch your flight. Before doing this surgery I was concerned with the timing because I had a wedding to attend right after. It was scheduled for what would be my 5th-day post op. Well, I attended the wedding and even danced that evening. I have felt great ever since and feeling better every day. Currently I am 7 weeks post op and have gone from 157.5 lbs to 135.6 lbs. I have been able to eat anything so far. Nothing has given me any trouble. Although I am not eating any kinds of breads or pasta, etc. I am mostly eating lean meats with just a tiny bit of veggies, it's important to get your protein in. I can only consume about 3.5 to 4 oz of food at one time. I cook a few times a week and portion out my meals in 4 oz containers so that they are ready to go and so that I know that I am not going to eat more than I should. For me, portion control has always been my problem so I believe as long as I continue to measure out my food for a long while I should be able to get to my goal weight of 115lbs. To maintain later on down the line I am hoping I will learn what 4 oz of food looks like so that I can know better when eating out or away from home. I believe this has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Absolutely NO regrets! My husband has lost 102lbs so far since Aug 2, 2016, also. We both are trying to work out at least 3 days a week as well.
Picking a surgeon is so much harder than I expected, I have a small budget so I've been mostly looking in Miami, the Dominican Republic and Mexico. I'm 95% sure I'll be using Mel Ortega from Spectrum Aesthetics. My quote was 6800 for a tummy tuck, breast reduction and lift, and lipo of the flanks. I'm waiting on one last quote from mexico . Updated on 21 Apr 2016: Just got 3 quotes from mexico today, really great prices and it will run about that much if I go to Miami, with the cost of hotel, flights etc! Something just scares me about getting surgery in Mexico but maybe I'm just being ignorant. So my quoteb from Mel Ortega was 6800 and very little lipo My mexico quotes were 8500 to 9500 and that included lots of lipo and bbl! Updated on 22 Apr 2016: So right now im leaning toward Dr. Lara, good reviews and I like his price. The issue im having right now is that he takes so long to respond to my questions, like hes very busy. It's annoying! Updated on 23 Apr 2016: He has many good reviews and he's willing to do all procedures in one day, it looks to me like he does a pretty small BBL and that's fine with me, I don't want a huge butt. The cost is $9500, I find it strange that they want 30% down to save the date!! That seems like a lot! Did anyone else have to do that? Updated on 27 Apr 2016: Well I was excited, I just keep bouncing all over the place with doctors. I'm back to Dr. Ortega, or maybe someone at Coral Gables? I really like Dr. Lara in Tijuana but he's pretty bad at communicating , I keep trying to get my questions answered and he takes days to get back to me. Its really annoying because I'd really like to just make an appointment since I pretty much only have the last part of September to go! Updated on 30 Apr 2016: I feel like I did a great deal of research on doctors, and I'm back to Mel Ortega. The whole reason i looked into other doctors was because i don't feel like he does a super small waist, especially compared to DR, I'm assuming its due to the liposuction laws in FL. For $6800 he will be doing my breast reduction/lift and also my tummy tuck, and lipo on the flanks. I told my husband that I'm scared i wont look that small after im done, due to the lack of lipo, but he said i could go back in 6-12 months and get more lipo if I'm unhappy with it. Doctors in Tijuana are willing to do more lipo and BBL for about 8k-9k, but i feel unsafe about having all of those procedures at once. Vanity was out because of the scamming that goes on there Coral Gables was out because i didn't feel like there were enough reviews. so that's how I ended up with Mel Ortega :) Updated on 4 May 2016: Well I booked my room, and I'm making my appointment tomorrow for September 26th , I'm $50 short for the $500 deposit, so I had to wait a couple extra days. I decided that if im not happy with the results, then I can get full body lipo in the DR and we can also make a vacation out of it. Updated on 14 Jul 2016: The time is flying by and I expected it would. Does anyone question their decision almost every day? I'm always wondering if I'm making the right choice, mostly its about the finances, its such a large amount of money, then the health risks, I have 2 kids and if something happened, I would feel so stupid! Part of the problem is I don't feel like I'm giving myself enough time in Miami, I get there the 25th and my surgery is the 26th, then I leave on the 2nd. Should I stay longer? The Dr said this amount of time was OK. Updated on 21 Mar 2017: It's been a long road, I was supposed to get a mommy makeover with Mel Ortega September of 2016, but that has since fell through, due to my blood disorder (hetrozygous thalassemia). I felt uneasy about going so far for my surgery and decided to stay closer to home and have a mommy makeover with Luis Suarez April 19th. Updated on 9 Apr 2017: I got back and forth between being excited and nervous. I'm more excited right now and every day I feel better about going with Luis Suarez, praying he won't let me down and it all goes smoothly. I haven't gotten on the scale recently because I haven't been eating that well and I've been so lazy due to the cool weather we've been getting, make me just want to be cozy on the couch :( The communication between me and cer hospital has been outstanding, Cassandra emails me back within 20 minutes every time I have a simple question. If I didn't have this stupid blood disorder, then I doubt I'd be hardly nervous, but I have been turned down by a bunch of surgeons and all the sudden he's willing to do it, so that kinda freaks me out. I don't wanna die, that's all lol. Updated on 18 Apr 2017: Arrived this morning around 11. Miguel drove us to Cer Hospital, met 2 other women from Seattle coming here for a different procedure, really cool talking to them! Got my blood draw as soon as I arrived. The guy fished around for my veins until I almost threw up, then they called a lady in to do it and she got it in one shot :) Paid off the rest of the surgery and I go in at 7am!!! I'm so nervous, I have a light headache, but I'm also very excited. Wish me luck. Updated on 20 Apr 2017: Had my surgery yesterday and it went very smooth! I did wake up during surgery, which I read about before, so I wasn't scared. I told them "I'm awake" and they knocked me right back out :) I was in recovery for a very long time because I needed to lift my legs up before they'd bring me to my room. Our room was huge and everything at Cer hospital was so clean. Dr Suarez made me so comfortable and he explained everything so well before I went in. It's day 2 and I'm pretty sore, I had to get to our hotel and it was a lot of moving around, I felt like I used my stomach muscles too much. I'm staying at the tijuana grand hotel on the 11th floor where it's all medical rooms. Very reasonable and so nice!! I seriously can't say enough about CER Hospital, they took such great care of me and I'm so happy I didn't end up in Miami in an out patient situation, I felt like that hospital stay was so necessary! Updated on 20 Apr 2017: Pics from our stay Updated on 22 Apr 2017: Had my check up today with the doctor. Everything went well, I feel more swollen today than the other days :( I did eat a pretty salty soup last night. He said everything looks good and that my breast should even out once the swelling goes down. He said I shouldn't be walking much and to keep low for the next week and a half. Just going to my appointment wore me out. I'd highly recommend Dr. Suarez and the Grand Hotel Tijuana, staying on the 10th floor was such a good choice, I don't know what I would have done without a hospital bed and a wheel chair! Updated on 8 Jul 2017: I'm so happy with the work he did. I went into a surgeon here in Oregon to make sure the seroma that had formed was gone, thank goodness that's over. The surgeon here commented twice on what an excellent job Luis Suarez had done. I'm so happy! Itso truly life changing. I still need to lose about 20 pounds, but I'm glad I can be happy with myself while doing that. Updated on 10 Aug 2017: I'm starting to feel like my old self, the swelling is finally going down. Here's my before and after, as of today. Updated on 18 Oct 2019: I'm so happy with the results I got here in Happy Valley Oregon, my BBL done by Dr. Max Grishkevich is amazing! He's a wonderful surgeon who takes an incredible amount of time making sure you're educated about your procedure. I was shocked after my surgery to see that he even did liposuction in extra areas that were problem spots for me, at no extra cost. Him and his staff are kind, funny, friendly, pretty much everything you could want in a medical team. I'll definitely be going back for abdominal liposuction. Highly recommend this place!
I joined this site because I want to be able to give real advice to help others with this process. This is my BBL Journey: I shopped around with a few surgeons for this procedure, but my budget was the main determining factor in selecting my surgeon. I ultimately chose Dr. Suarez because he is board certified by the American Plastic Surgeon Association, his price was great, and I saw someone else write a positive review for a BBL from him on here. Although I live in Atlanta, where there are tons of very talent BBL surgeons like Dr. Jimmerson, I cannot afford to drop $8000 for a surgery... which is why I'm going abroad. I also don't want a big butt like one of Dr. Jimmerson's famous video vixen behinds, and I read that Dr. Suarez injects less cc's into his patients, so that was also what swayed me. Right now, I have my surgery booked for mid-December. So far, the whole process with getting a quote/ consult/ paperwork and all other communications has been great. I received an amazing quote within 2 days of sending in an email with pictures. This whole fat grafting surgery plus the garment is costing me less than $2200! (Granted, I don't have very much fat on my body and I don't want a huge butt so my quote was less). He is located in Tijuana, Mexico but he has a San Diego number, and every time I've called, I've had great conversations with his assistants who took time to answer all of my questions. Violet, especially, has been answering all of my concerns over email. So far I think I've sent her like 20 emails with questions concerning this procedure (Since I've never done anything like this before). I also found some negative reviews for him on this site too, so I also brought that up with his assistant... and she sent me tons of BBL patient before/ after photos that made me feel more confident in my choice. I put down my deposit last week to secure the surgery date... it was a little odd that they wanted me to direct deposit into the doctor's bank account and that they don't accept credit cards or anything- not even wire transfers... But they sent me a receipt and everything for my deposit so, I guess it's legit. I sent in all my paper work and now I'm just waiting for my surgery day to arrive. I hope to be able to sit down in person and discuss with Dr. Suarez further about what I want from the results. Updated on 12 Dec 2012: So today is the day. I am heading to Tijuana for my surgery. They're sending a lady from the office to pick me up at the border... I'm really excited and nervous at the same time. Hopefully everything will go well. I'll post a post-op update withing next few days if nothing goes wrong... a little scared. Updated on 16 Dec 2012: So the whole picking me up at the border thing didn't work as planned. They closed off part of the entrance and there was a ton of traffic, so I ended up having to ask a taxi driver to call CER Clinic and they arranged to pick me up in front of a different place. The taxi driver had no idea where the clinic was, so I'm glad they offered this complimentary pick-up service. When I finally walked to the new place where they were picking me up, there was a lovely lady who had a cute little sign with my name on it waiting for me in her car. She was really nice and explained to me that I should tell Dr. Suarez exactly what my expectations are for the surgery because he tends to give more natural and subtle results, which was good to know. Finally we arrived at the clinic (I was supposed to be there at 8, but due to the delay with meeting at the border we got there closer to 9). The place was nice, clean, and well-lit. When I went to the reception area, I finally met Violet (after having emailed and talked on the phone for weeks) and she was very nice and even more adorable in person. Dr. Suarez's staff was mostly women, all of whom were very nice and pretty. It's funny to me how plastic surgeons always seem to hire good-looking receptionists and coordinators lol. Violet gave me some paper work to fill out and went over all my labwork. Then she asked me to pay for the remaining balance before showing me to my surgical suite... which was a little strange that they expected me to pay before having my consultation with Dr. Suarez or even having met him! But I had good vibes about the whole thing so I paid and they took me to my suite. It was a nice cozy little room with a bed and tv. There was a big window with sunlight coming through, so it definitely wasn't as stuffy as most hospital recovery rooms. Immediately the nurse handed me a gown and hairnet and asked me to strip down. I thought she was going to leave the room and let me change, because I'm really conservative with my body, but nope.. two other nurses walked in to help her prep so finally I asked to go to the bathroom and change. I came back and all three women were all still in the room, and one had a camera in her hand. They asked me to take off my gown so they could take the "before" pictures for my file... They took 6 pictures in total, but I was really uncomfortable the whole time because all three women stayed in there and watched while the one lady took pictures. I felt like I was on display... I mean, I was butt naked in front of a room of people that I didn't know! After the pictures, I put my gown back on and immediately one of the nurses started threading the IV. I had previously read a review on here that said the nurses didn't wear gloves, but all my nurses were really good about wearing gloves and all the needles were new. Then the anesthesiologist came in and explained to me what they were doing. Luckily, they were just going to sedate me and use an epidural to numb the lower half of my body, which was great because I hate going under with general! Shortly after he left, Dr. Suarez came in for my consultation. This was my first time meeting him, and my first impression was that he was a nice, soft-spoken guy. He drew on my body where he planned to lipo and a grid on my butt for where he was going to inject. I wanted some fat taken out of my inner thighs and arms, but he said I only had skin there haha. He explained how if he took fat out of areas that didnt have a lot of fat, it would leave uneven dimpling and lumps. He said that my butt was really square and that he would give it a nice round shape. I felt like we were on the same page, so I didn't say much and just trusted his judgement. A few minutes later, I was in the OR. I don't know if they're always this efficient with their wait times, or if it was because I had arrived late and they didn't want to be behind schedule, but I didn't have to wait long at all for anything that morning. They put me on the operating table, and then I was out. I mean, usually they give you a warning before they knock you out but nope! I just remember laying down on that table, and then the next thing I know I'm waking up in the recovery room. The bed was really comfy and warm. I was in the room alone, and I didn't know there was a button on the bed I could press to call a nurse, so I just started hollering out for someone haha. A few minutes later, a lady came in and asked me how I felt and if I wanted anything to drink. She turned on the TV for me and lifted the headrest. I was still numb from the waist down so I felt great! Dr. Suarez came in to check on me, and said that the surgery went great and that I was going to love my new shape. I was really excited! They gave me all my post-op medication and bandages in a discreet and non-conspicuous christmas gift bag to take back with me (which I thought was brilliant!) Then they called the driver to pick me up and take me back to my hotel (this service costs an extra $45), but when the driver got there I still couldn't stand up because the epidural hadn't worn off... so I stayed there for another 3 hours until I could walk again. They had a lot of channels on the TV so I wasn't too bored. But I was hungry. I don't think they had food. Finally the driver came and picked me up. My hotel was back in San Diego (because I'm not familiar with Tijuana hotels) so getting back across the border was a pain in the butt (literally). When the numbness wore off I felt really sore in my sides. My butt, surprisingly, felt fine, but my hips hurt so bad! There was so much traffic at the border and so many cars... it took forever! I finally got back to my hotel at 7pm, so the transportation and surgery and everything literally took up an entire day! I finally got something to eat that night, and they recommended a mild diet after the surgery (nothing that will cause bloating or abdominal distention). Then I went to bed. I woke up in the morning and took my dressings off (which were a disgusting bloody mess). I had no idea there would be that much drainage after surgery!! I looked in the mirror and everything looked GREAT! My waist was smaller, and my butt was round... although it wasn't quite as big as I had hoped. I squeezed into the garment that they made me buy after the surgery... it was really uncomfortable. The paint wasn't bad. It was a lot of soreness on my sides, but my butt did not hurt at all. I think the places that had lipo were really the only areas that hurt. Then, I spent the next 10 hours in and out of airports trying to get back home to the east cost. They said I was cleared to travel the day after my surgery, but I would NOT recommend doing that. Give yourself at least a couple more days to heal. Somehow, through all that pain, I made it home in one piece. When I took off my garment and looked in the mirror I had a TON of bruises! I barely had any bruises that morning, but then after all that traveling and stuff I ended up coming home with a bunch of huge purple painful bruises. I finally took a shower and put the garment back on... I hate that thing. I got a follow-up email from Dr. Suarez too asking me how I was feeling, which was nice, but he got my name wrong lol. Day 2 post-op: Painful! I woke up feeling super super sore. Luckily I had some Vicodin leftover from my last surgery so I took some of that. I was really swollen, and when I got on the scale I was super heavy! My garment was so tight on my hips that day I didn't want to wear it anymore- but I had to. Violet recommended arnica montana, which works really well for swelling and bruising. I also drank a lot of fluids that day hoping it'd help with the swelling. Day 3 post-op: Woke up feeling better than the day before. Not as much pain or bruising or swelling. My back aches from lying on my stomach all the time though, and my arms are a little sore from pushing myself off the bed all the time. I'm fairly happy with the results still... I'm just worried that once the swelling goes down my butt will shrink (which I don't want!!). If my butt could stay this size that it is now that would be awesome, but if it shrinks I might have to consider getting another BBL... I will post photos soon. Updated on 16 Sep 2013: I am finally updating this again after almost 10 months. It's not as big as I wanted it, but it still looks great. I had actually asked Dr. Suarez about maybe doing another bbl to make it bigger and he said I didn't have enough fat, and that implants would be the only other option. But I don't want implants. Overall, I am happy with my results. Very natural, but still turns heads :) Also, anyone worried about traveling for surgery should not be. I was in great hands with Dr. Suarez, and he has a great, thoughtful, and kind staff.
I have always hated my nose. My nose originally had a large bump on the top of it. My Grandmother who shared this facial feature with me, paid 1200 dollars when I was 16 to have it removed. It was the best thing that ever happened to my self image up to that point. I started to be more confident, I had boyfriends after that. I actually looked in the mirror and was happy with what I would see. I stopped dressing so gothic and punk rock and actually took care of my appearance. The situation had gone from hopeless to hopeful for me after that. Now I find myself, 2O years later, and the wear and tear I have placed on my body, is really staring to show in my face again. I have been absolutely miserable with my appearance again for the last 2 years since my cheeks have started to sag and wrinkles sit where my smile lines can not ALWAYS be. My nose is starting to look crooked as well and drooping in the front, and the bulbous tip has become the prominent focal point in every picture of me I see. Knowing I could never afford plastic surgery on the money I make while also supporting my kids, I felt so hopeless and depressed. Being single and approaching 40, I was convinced that if I’m only going to get older looking I would have a hard time finding any kind of attractive man interested in me much longer after this. I found myself hiding at home, afraid to go out and be seen in my wretched state of ugliness. I was really feeling bad. Then one day it occurred to me that a lot of people I know were having weight loss surgery in Mexico. Why not plastic surgery too? I was so excited to see the low prices, the immaculate facilities and Board Certified Surgeons with many years experience and good recommendations. I patiently await my Rhinoplasty and cheek lift procedures at CER Hospital in Tijuana MX, with Dr. Luis Suarez on April 2nd. Wish me luck! I’ll keep you posted:) Updated on 11 Apr 2018: Back home in OR now after my Rhinoplasty and Cheek Lift at CER hospital performed by Dr. Luis Suarez. I will say so far I am very happy with the results. My nose is still swollen, and my cheeks are slightly bruised, as I am only 9 days post op, but I can see the differences and am very pleased. The hospital was immaculate clean, even more impressive in person, and I thought the pictures of the place looked good. The cleanliness and friendliness of staff are the first thing I found super impressive, completely exceeded my expectations. The driver that picked me up from the airport was prompt and friendly. He had a thick accent but spoke English very well. Upon arrival at CER hospital I was immediately engaged in the PRE- op process. I went directly into the lab for blood work, then was greeted by Maricella, my hospital liaison, who had communicated with me often and thoroughly since my first investigation about there services a month earlier. She provided all requested information promptly to myself, as well as my concerned family members who rang her often post op with care questions and concerns. She never treated us like a nuisance. It helped alleviate all our concerns. My room before surgery was comfortable, private and quiet. I was able to rest after fasting from the night before and taking an early flight. The room after surgery was huge, beautiful, and sparkling clean. The entire ward smelled fresh cleaned from one end to the other. The staff was professional, clean and friendly as well. Ok so now for the cons- there is always something right? The one thing that scared me but ended up not mattering very much is the time I spent with my Doctor before surgery. It was literally only a minute. I did consult with another member of the surgical team for a slightly longer time about my goals for the surgery, who was also with me immediately post op, as well as the next morning. He was awesome and reassuring. I can not remember his name unfortunately. There was another doctor who acquired my medical history who old me he was jealous of my job as a bartender, so again all the staff was impressively friendly and warm. Even though I only saw my Dr. momentarily before the surgery, he was clean, friendly and informative just the same. He helped me understand what was realistic to expect from the results. Recommendations: If I had it to do ideal, I would have rented a hotel in TJ Mexico instead of staying in the states the week post op. It would have been nice to know I could, if necessary, return to the hospital with any concerns. Border crossing is inconvenient and lengthy with Passport requirements. Luckily I healed well and as expected. My nose pack had to be left in longer than the normal case as my rhinoplasty was a revision rhinoplasty, and proved difficult, albeit successful. It would have been nice to have the pack changed after a few days. It was really gross and smelly after 4/5 days. It did not come out until day 7. I would also have brought a support person to look after me in the hotel a well as for safety in a foreign country, merely for company in the hospital room which was huge and more than accommodating for one to have a guest. There was a comfortable couch area a grown man could easily sleep on, huge bathroom, gorgeous city view from completely glass wall. Truly better than most hotels I can afford! Another detail that surprised me was the post op pain management is only an NSAID medication. Was expecting something stronger, or opioid in nature, as the discomfort the first few days post op was very high. The most painful thing of all was residual damage to my throat caused by insertion of the breathing tube, followed by a week of sleep breathing through my mouth. The dryness this caused left my throat extremely raw. It was excruciating. Numbing throat spray and honey helped. Overall, happy and satisfied. The price can not be beat as compared to the U.S. surgeons and I am satisfied that Dr. Suarez and his team are every bit as qualified, skilled, and professional. I will post more photos as the weeks go on. Good luck to all considering out of country operations. It is my experience that it is the best way to get ones money’s worth:) Updated on 11 Apr 2018: Uncomfortable recovering first few days. First 3 are before pics. You can get an idea of the long and bulbous tip I had. The sagging of my cheeks is very pronounced as well. Now all is much improved:) Updated on 7 May 2018: Updated on 16 May 2018: Less swelling in nose. Wish cheeks were tighter but he warned me it would only be subtle.
The body naturally forms a capsule around any foreign object, including implants, it can lead to excessive tightening. While capsular contracture is not fully understood, the solution is to change the implant in order to relive the pain and discomfort, although it doesn’t guarantee this happen again, it will give you the alleviation you need. Hopefully this helps!
You can combine multiple cosmetic procedures in one surgery, it's crucial to evaluate your health first carefully. Health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity plus longer surgeries can create a risk. Your board-certified plastic surgeon will ensure that your body can safely handle the anesthesia and the recovery process.
The typical procedures involve a thigh lift with liposuction and a flank lift to target excess skin and fat on the thighs and sides. These surgeries aim to improve the contour and tighten the skin in these areas. It's important to have a virtual or in-person consultation and evaluate your specific situation, taking into account your weight, age, and medical history in order to provide personalized recommendations that will help you achieve your desired outcome effectively.
Facelift surgeries typically last 2 to 6 hours, including time under anesthesia. Anesthesiologists carefully monitor anesthesia levels to ensure patient safety and comfort. Before surgery, patients undergo evaluations to confirm they can tolerate the anesthesia and duration of the procedure.
The outcome depends on factors like how severe your lipedema is, your skin's elasticity, and your surgeon's expertise. Generally, a reduction of 1-2 inches is more achievable. It's important to have a discussion with your surgeon to confirm your objectives and to emphasize overall improvement rather than precise measurements.
