Hello everyone!
This review is a continuation of my initial Tattoo Vanish review.
I had a HUGE tattoo done and experienced major regret and anxiety after the outline was completed. I decided to NOT finish the Tattoo and start looking into removal options.
I initially tried Tattoo Vanish as it was considered a natural method. I did three test areas and found scaring/chemical burns on my skin as a result.
Therefore, I moved onto laser options, only to find out that I was pregnant! I was happy but surprised. Needless to say, I’ve been waiting until my baby is born to start my Picosure 1064 treatments.
My baby will be here any day. I will start my treatments 12 weeks after I give birth. My doc said this would allow my hormones to settle and my pigment to go back to normal.
I will post initial pictures of the Tattoo in a separate update.
Stay turned!Updated on 16 Feb 2018:
I will be removing the large outline work first via the Picosure 1064 laser after I have my baby.
Note this was supposed to be a cover up, however I was not happy with the size of the flowers.
Once I see progress on the back outline, I will work on the original tattoo on my hip.
I will be sure to post an update after my first appointment and test spot! Updated on 21 Apr 2018:
Hello everyone! I had my consultation on the 19th at Dr. Behr’s Office and it went very well. The laser technician is a RN and she mapped out a great plan to remove my tattoo.
The removal will be done in 3 sections.
1. The black outline on my back.
2. The old color Tattoo and black outlines on my lower back & hips.
3. The black outline on my thigh.
I appreciated how honest she was. She said in rare cases they can clear the Tattoo in 6 sessions, however it’s more like 8-12 or more. They have every laser available to treat me, including Picosure 1064, Revlite, etc....This Removal process will most likely take 2-3 years. Looks like her and I are gonna be BFFs!
Each session will be $300 until the ink starts to fade, which I think is fair.
My first session will be on my back and she will section it off into 4 sections and try different lasers to see which one works best. It is scheduled for April 24th.
All of the staff were very friendly and made me feel welcome and comfortable.
I can’t wait to see results! Updated on 24 Apr 2018:
Ouch!
Hello everyone. I had my first session today.
The RN sectioned the Tattoo off into 3 sections and tried 3 different lasers to see which one I would respond to best. She used the Revlite 1064 (this one hurt the most), the Picosure 755, and the Picosure 1064.
I am very swollen and sore.
I’ll provide an update in a few days to keep everyone updated. Updated on 14 May 2018:
Hello everyone!
I’m officially 3 Weeks post my first laser treatment.
Here are a few pictures. I haven’t really noticed any difference, except for the lighter areas previously treated with Tattoo Vanish. I also noticed the laser treatment helped the dark areas of my skin that were damaged with Tattoo Vanish, so that’s a plus!
But as for my black lines, I don’t see a difference yet. =(. I’m kinda sad about that even though I didn’t expect much of a change.
Also, it took a total of 3 Weeks for the swelling and itching to go away. So I’m going to wait a little longer before going over the same lines with the laser to allow more time for fading. My next appointment is May 22nd and it will be on my thigh. I’ll post before pics from the dr office later.
I’ve finally started working out today. So hopefully exercising will increase my fading. Updated on 22 May 2018:
I had my second apportionment today, but this time they lasered my leg.
The RN did take a look at my back and determined the PicoSure 755 was working the best on this type of ink. Who woulda thought? I figured the Revlite 1064 would fade the lines the fastest but I guess not!
So she used the PicoSure 755 in my leg. I was secretly happy because the Revlite hurts waaaaaaay more haha. Updated on 21 Jun 2018:
Oh my goodness - today was my first session on my side and I couldn’t figure out WHY I was having so much trouble making it thru the pain.
I literally was about to get off the table when the nurse asked me - are you on your period?
I said yes - and she said oh that’s why! Do not schedule these treatments when you’re on your mensural cycle because the pain is MUCH worse.
This is my third season getting laser removal and I am so depressed I couldn’t make it thru to treat the entire area. I have a HIGH tolerance to pain - shoot I’ve had 3 kids naturally with no epidural! But today it was unbearable. =(
Here are the spots I managed to treat. Note I was supposed to to all of the solid area.
My next apt is at the end of July to finish the middle part.
Also, none of the ink has been treated more than once. I’m still trying to finish a full pass.
