I looked years younger but so natural no one knew why

Dr. Jeanie Lujan is a miracle worker AND she has a fantastic personality! Shortly after my surgery I had many people coming up to me to ask about my new hair style (didn't have one) or my new make-up (didn't have any) and when they learned that they would stare. They said I looked great but couldn't figure out the reason. I looked years younger but so natural no one knew why.....that's a...

Great Caring Team ! Can't Recommend Them Enough

I had my lipo done with doctor Chris Schneider and I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. My first surgery had to be interrupted because of me getting sick, and they were kind enough to postpone and help me schedule again. He is a sweet and patient doctor, he didn't push me to get anything I didn't want and I can't wait to see the final results!

Informative, knowledgable and caring staff

The staff and services Austin Face and Body were great. Dr. Paul and Emily, the esthetician spent time with me discussing my skin concerns (adult acne and aging) and the best treatment to meet my skincare goals. Emily did a chemical peel with great results, and Dr. Paul injected Xeomin for fine lines and wrinkles. Dr. Paul and his staff listened to my concerns and had made me feel comfortable...

Not worth the money - already seeing the sagging again

I have always had puffy eyelids that sagged as I got older. For the past 5 years I've been contemplating getting a blepharoplasty and finally did so since I had saved some money while quarantined. I'd had a consultation with the doctor years earlier but was able to have the surgery until recently. A couple of things concerned me at my consultation. 1) the doctor did not even consider sending...

Q: Is it possible to have these piercing scars minimized with surgery? (photo)
Answered by Dr. GayOctober 4, 2019

A: Yes your scars can be improved. Piercing scars tend to be indented and much more noticeable than scars from cuts. A scar revision is basically trading a more noticeable scar for a less noticeable scar. Non-surgical treatments like scar cream, subcision, and microneedling don't work as well for piercing scars. A small scar revision surgery can be done in-office under local anesthesia. Cost can vary widely based on the area you live. I recommend calling the office to get pricing. The type of surgeon should be a doctor who operates on the face such as oculofacial plastics, ENT facial plastics, or a general plastic surgeon.

Q: I'm 46 yrs old. Am I a candidate for Lip Lift Surgery? (photo)
Answered by Dr. GayOctober 4, 2019

A: Thanks for your question. The short answer is yes. You would be a good candidate for a lip lip. The filler in your lips looks good and helps a lot, but a lip lift will give you longer lasting results. You may still want to use filler to increase your lip volume, but your lip shape and appearance will be improved by the lip lift. Your skin quality looks good. You will want to have enough removed to have a good appearance, but be careful about having too much removed. The increased tension by being too aggressive could increase the scar and tension on the ala of the nose.

Q: Why is a fat transfer recommended for doing my lower blepharoplasty? And what will happen if I don’t include that procedure?
Answered by Dr. GaySeptember 12, 2019

A: Thanks for your question. It can be confusing with so many treatment options and plans. Surgeons tend to get the best results with the procedures they perform the most often and with the technique they most commonly use. Your surgeon may get excellent results with the proposed technique. If you talk to 10 surgeons you may get 10 different approaches. There are many different techniques that all lead to excellent results. I don't often do fat transfer to the eyelids. I don't feel that the technique is precise enough for reliable results. I find filler is more reliable if needed after surgery. Fat transposition during your blepharoplasty should be able to fill most of your hollow areas.

Q: How does a micro-autologous fat transfer support the lower eyelids and help to prevent hollowed eyes and ectropion?
Answered by Dr. GaySeptember 12, 2019

A: There are many different techniques that all lead to excellent results. I don't often do fat transfer to the eyelids. I don't feel that the technique is precise enough for reliable results. That being said many surgeons do this technique with excellent results. I find filler is more reliable if needed after surgery. Fat transposition during your blepharoplasty should be able to fill most of your hollow areas.

Q: What is the safest facial filler (in terms of toxins, etc.) including Sculptra?
Answered by Dr. GaySeptember 12, 2019

A: All the fillers currently in use in the United States have excellent safety profiles. The most common are fillers containing hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance in your skin. An option you may want to consider is fat transfer. This would be your own fat collected from someplace else in your body and injected into other areas. That is as natural as you can go.
