2 years ago I had a mommy makeover and my results were not the best and I had a surgeon that flew in from GA do the surgery because the original surgeon I picked was on a permanent leave of absence. I waited 2 years to go in and see the new surgeon Dr. Barnes for revisions because i was so nervous to get revisions and have the same thing happen so I wanted to make sure Dr. Barnes was sticking around and hear some reviews about him. I had my pre op/revision appointment with him and immediately he made me feel comfortable and saw the areas I was concerned with and said he could fix them. He was very knowledgeable and his bedside manner was impeccable. Also the staff has always been amazing at Athenix from the front desk girls to the nurses to the anesthesiologist. I am 4 days post op from my revisions and could cry when I look at myself! Dr. Barnes did an incredible job! He is definitely a 10/10 surgeon and I would recommend him to any of my friends! I’ve lost 30 pounds in my first 2 months. I’m almost at the end of month 3 and haven’t lost a single pound this week. I read the weight loss levels off after 3 months, so I wonder why I can’t just get it out? I need to lose another 50 pounds so it’s frustrating to think I might not lose anything after this point. But… I could not have lost 30 pounds on my own. I tried and tried and tried. Pros: Rapid weight loss Get in the habit of having small portions Get sick if you have greasy, very unhealthy food and learn to avoid it. Quickly helped joints, stomach fat, etc. Not permanent can remove any time (pro for me because helped me realize I don’t want a perm change) Cons: Nausea & vomiting if overeating or eating unhealthy Adjusting to not having hunger Low energy Not able to drink enough water Can’t eat what you want Stomach is often uncomfortable COST!! $$$$ Tips: TAKE YOUR MEDS ON TIME (unless you like vomiting lol) You will probably be bloated the first weeks. Massage your tummy, walk after eating, etc it will get better. It’s normal to vomit and struggle keeping liquid down the first 3 days, sleep sitting up to help this. Sleep on your left side or back Track everything for a while Don’t freak out if your weight doesn’t budge for a week, it will move when it’s ready
I had an arm lift and thigh lift in Oct of 2020. I have been left deformed and scarred beyond believe. Two days after surgery my armpit split right open and I was left to wait for three days with a large gaping hole before they would stitch it back up. Within a week of surgery my inner thighs, armpits and arms had large holes. The surgeon stated there was nothing he could do for me. I then contacted my primary care physician who was horrified and had me squeezed into kaisers special wounds unit. I had 25 visits to special wounds unit between Oct 23 and Jan 18. I battled for my life for nearly three months; not a single phone call from athenix to check in. I lost thousands of dollars due to not being able to work for months; not to mention $16k/$17k I paid for surgery and the out pocket expenses for recovery. I had to hire an in home care nurse as I could barely move for two months. I am scared and look like a monster. I reached out to them to see what my options were; they suggested revision surgery (at a large cost to me of course). I would never ever recommend anyone do business with this company based on their lack of compassion. I understand there is such a thing as human error which is why I didn’t sue, but this company lacks ethics and remorse towards their patients. I have been left permanently scarred, disfigured and traumatized.
Thinking about more procedures. Came here because it’s close to home. Great customer service. I’m available only Wednesday’s and they had a Wednesday appointment. Prices were very reasonable compare to Bay Area. Quoted me $10,500 or a bbl with everything.
