I decided on CO2 for acne scars from years of cystic acne on my cheek and chin. I also am almost 40, so aging was a motivation as well. I take good care of my skin, IPL, microneedling, retin A, injections hydrafacial, I do it all. The procedure: I was given Vicodin, Valium, nitrous and numbing cream. I won't lie, it still hurt in certain areas. About a 7 on a 1-10, and felt like being burned with a hot pan. Downtime: I was fully aware of the downtime and the massacre I would look like for several days. The first 3 days you look awful, but feel fine, no pain. I am on day 7, and I was able to put some mineral spf tint on and go to the gym. Still lots of redness, as expected, and lots of flaking. But no make scabs or wounds left. Results: My scars were improved by about 70% and I will continue to see results up to 6m. I am very very happy already with the results I have, almost unreal! I also have zero fine lines left around my eye area and smile lines that I had prior.
