After seeking help from multiple doctors, he found his solution by traveling from Las Vegas to Dr. Katzens office in Beverly Hills.

Patient developed a recurrent hernia after an abdominal surgery in 2012. She then underwent gastric bypass in 2013 and lost over 80 pounds. In addition to the continued hernia, she had problems with irritation from excess skin. She elected to undergo abdominal wall reconstruction with ventral hernia repair with biologic mesh, component separation, and panniculectomy. (Note that the umbilicus was purposely sacrificed during the reconstruction)

56 year old female who underwent gastric bypass in 2010. She lost 70 pounds and presented with problems with skin irritation and wetness in the waistline folds. She was unable to pursue cosmetic options for abdominal contouring due to financial constraints. She chose to proceed with insurance-approved panniculectomy with removal of the skin below the waistline only with no surgical efforts to address abdominal contour or aesthetic appearance. She had improvement in skin irritation and was pleased with the outcome. A full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) or fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty would have produced additional skin removal and far superior aesthetic outcomes, but these procedures are not covered by insurance and are considered cosmetic and involve out-of-pocket costs.
