Dr. Rad uses silicone (not saline) for implant reconstruction. Implants are FDA-approved and are ideal for patients who want the least amount of surgery and who do not need radiation treatment. This 42 year old woman had bilateral mastectomies for invasive breast cancer. The silver lining is that breast reconstruction can offer patients a better appearance than before mastectomy. Dr. Rad placed 555 cc silicone gel implants and performed fat grafting to define her cleavage line and to give more fullness throughout her breasts. (In the "before" photo" the left upper chest shows visible mediport used for chemotherapy).
