Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty (eyelid lift)

In this patient, the goal was to reduce the bulging lower eyelid bags, smooth the lower eyelid skin as well as the transition from eyelid to the cheek, and lift and contour the upper eyelids. For the upper eyelid, I removed an ellipse-shaped area of skin and carefully placed the scar in the natural eyelid fold so that it is hidden from view. Preserving the delicate eyelid muscle also gives some youthful fullness. For the lower eyelid, I placed the incision directly beneath the eyelashes and then used a technique called “skin-skin/muscle flap” – this refers to separating the delicate eyelid tissues away from the fatty compartments. Bulging fat was judiciously removed and then the extra eyelid skin redraped to create a smooth contour and surface. Incisions are imperceptible
