This 46-year-old woman was searching for a surgeon proficient in breast reconstruction for a microsurgical perforator free flap DIEP following her right mastectomy for breast CA. She had been without a breast for several years and decided to undergo the procedure to obtain a wholeness. With a very active lifestyle, she sought this particular surgery specifically to spare her muscles and utilize her own tissue to reconstruct her breast. This was done successfully, even with the paucity of abdominal tissue. She underwent nipple and areolar reconstruction to complete her journey. She continued with her activities and exercise soon following her breast reconstruction. She is shown here at 14 months postoperative from the DIEP flap.
