African skin treated with TCA

It is common knowledge that acne scar revision is based on only 3 variables- the acne scar type, skin type of the patient and downtime. In this case the rate limiting factor is the skin type. This is an African patient with ice pick and box car scars. Difficult to treat, but it can be done. I used a special formulation of TCA CROSS to focal areas. The brown marks are secondary and will fade with time, sunscreen and fading agents. Two treatments were performed 8 weeks apart. This proves that dark skin types can be treated safely and effectively. Laser is not the first answer but the last.
