Neveskin is a trio of noninvasive treatments designed for shaping, toning, and firming.
Developed and manufactured in Italy by Pagani, the device offers a trio of precise hot and cold therapy treatments to stimulate new collagen production and reduce circumference in the treatment area. Neveskin has not yet been FDA approved, but it is CE certified in Europe.
Neveskin Shape is most commonly performed on the abdomen, but it can treat a variety of body areas, including the flanks, thighs, and arms. Some providers also use it to reduce the appearance of a double chin.Â
A 2023 clinical study of 100 patients, ages 20 to 70, showed that series of 5 to 10 treatments led to a significant reduction in circumference (with the results supported by ultrasound measurements). This study found:
This "lunch break" body sculpting procedure takes about 45 minutes.
Your provider will apply a specialized massage wand to your desired treatment area. You'll feel a warming sensation for the first few minutes, followed by rapid cooling.
The heat tightens the existing collagen bands in the skin's dermal layer, to modestly reduce circumference. Then the immediate temperature drop stimulates new collagen production.
In the weeks following the treatment, this new collagen makes skin look increasingly firmer and more youthful.
Side effects are usually mild and limited to redness and/or soreness in the treated area for a few hours post-treatment.
You may see some improvement after your first session, but a minimum of five Shape treatments (every 14 days) are recommended for the best results. For patients with moderate skin laxity, an initial series of six or more sessions may be needed.
You can expect to see initial results within two to three weeks of your first treatment, with optimal results developing two to three weeks after your last session.
Your provider will recommend a maintenance treatment plan to keep up your results over time.
Tone treatments use cold massage to smooth, lift, and firm skin on the legs, buttocks, and abdomen, improving the skin’s texture and quality. The contrast of the cold massage device and warmth from the technician’s hand temporarily dilates the blood vessels and increases circulation around the treatment area.
While clinical data isn't yet available for this treatment protocol, Pagani (the device manufacturer) claims that this increase in circulation stimulates the "production of collagen and elastin while helping to tone, smooth and shape areas lacking elasticity." Over time, increased this may help thicken, firm, and smooth the skin.
A series of at least least five Tone sessions are recommended for best results, and you’ll notice the most difference in the first few days to week post-treatment. Your provider will likely recommend quarterly check-ins to assess when you'll need maintenance treatments.
During a Neveskin Facial treatment, your provider will use one of 8 different protocols (involving heat, cold, or both) to increase blood flow and bring more oxygen and nutrients into the skin on the face and neck.
This skin rejuvenation treatment promotes new collagen production, which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone, boost elasticity, and give your face a brighter, more radiant glow.Â
You may see some initial results after a single session—decreased puffiness and inflammation, improved pore size, tighter-looking skin—though most patients need an initial series of at least five treatment sessions, once or twice per week, for best results. Your provider will recommend a treatment plan that's tailored to your concerns.
The price you pay will depend on how many Neveskin treatments you have, your provider's credentials, their location, and a few other factors.
The longevity of your Neveskin results will depend on the type of treatment you have, how your body responds to it, and lifestyle factors.
Providers typically recommend quarterly check-ins to see when maintenance treatments may be needed.
All three Neveskin treatments use similar technology, the only difference being the setting to which the wand is programmed. The wand has built-in sensors that help keep the treatments safe.Â
As we mentioned earlier, the Neveskin Classic is CE-approved (the European safety standard) but not yet cleared by the FDA.
A 2023 clinical study of 119 patients found that Shape treatments were “very well tolerated and the device is safe to use” in “the normal treatment mode.”
A small number of patients in the clinical study reported mild side effects, including:Â
Only one study participant had a serious adverse event: abdominal pain that was diagnosed as pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas). They were treated and reported feeling better within a few weeks.Â
Finding an experienced provider who understands how to administer the treatment safely can also lower your risk of side effects. It’s also good to let them know in advance if you have very sensitive skin, so they can tailor your treatment accordingly.
Like all body contouring treatments, Neveskin Shape is not intended to be a weight loss treatment.Â
It's best suited for people who are already near their ideal weight who wish to subtly slim and tone specific body areas.
