Kate Beckinsale’s Skin-Care Secret For Looking Youthful at 46 Is Legit

Kate Beckinsale took to Instagram to share her skin-care secret to minimize fine lines at wrinkles at 46, and it's legit.

Real celebrity skin-care secrets are hard to come by. After all, Hollywood’s elite tend to keep their true complexion boosters a secret (especially if they rely on in-office treatments!) or disclose only those products they’ve been paid to endorse. Because of this, it’s a rare insight when a celebrity opens up about their actual routine.

The latest celebrity to give us a peek inside her regimen is none other than actress Kate Beckinsale. The 46-year-old took to Instagram to post a video of herself with full hair and makeup before attending a Christmas at the Grove event in Los Angeles.

“Makeup by @robscheppy and hair by @peter.savic,” she captioned the post. “The most amazing part is they can do it while I’m sitting on a fairly energetic mini horse.”

In response to Beckinsale’s post, one Instagram user asked the star for her secret for looking so good, to which Beckinsale responded, “Happiness, freedom and rejuvenating hydrator cream by Skin Medica [sic].”

The cream Beckinsale is referring to is the SkinMedica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator ($120). As implied by its name, HA5 contains a blend of five different forms of hyaluronic acid (HA): time release HA, sodium hyaluronate, uncross-linked HA, cross-linked HA, and nano HA. Each version of hyaluronic acid serves a different, skin-boosting purpose, from providing a sustained release of the ingredient over time (time-release HA) to soothing the skin (nano HA). As you can imagine, all this hyaluronic acid works to immediately iron out the look of fine lines and wrinkles while creating a smooth, soft complexion.

Now, it’s important to note that even though this product is called a hydrator, it is not a moisturizer. Instead, it’s a serum designed to be layered on before your moisturizer. As defined by the brand, “A hydrator is a cosmetic treatment product that promotes epidermal health by supporting the skin’s natural ability to replenish HA.” So even though Beckinsale swears this is her skin-care secret, she’s certainly using other products along with it. Hopefully, she’ll list those products as well so we can piece together her full regimen.
