I had a deep plane face and neck lift with platysmaplasty 6 months ago. I was under the impression that I would be receiving a corset platysmaplasty (with the platysma muscles sutured to the collarbone) but the surgeon only sutured the platysma muscles down to the hyoid bone where they were sutured. When I turn my head, my neck looks terrible below the hyoid bone due to the platysma muscles. Is it possible to get a corset platysmaplasty after the platysma muscles have been sutured to the hyoid bone? Is the timeframe important, i.e., is it best to do it sooner rather than later? Thanks so much for any help.
Hi! I am scheduled to get a neck lift procedure next month and I am planning on asking my plastic surgeon about this at my preop, but Im curious to get an array of thoughts. I have seen some patient post neck lift have what looks almost like a hollowing under the chin around the throat area. Is this something that is expected to happen? Is this something that can be avoided or does this just depend on individual anatomy? If Im hoping to avoid it, it is something specific I can discuss with my surgeon?
I had a lower face and neck lift in Aug. 2024, and while Im satisfied with my jawline, my neck still has significant loose skin and sagging. It also has ripples when I look up. My skin is thin but Im seeing before and after pictures of much older women with similar-looking skin/before pictures that look much better than I do. Youd almost never know I had a neck lift. Am I exaggerating or not being realistic, and if not, should I go back for a revision with the same surgeon?
Ive gained and lost weight all my life and Ive always had a double chin no matter how thin I get but now my skin is starting to sag. I dont wanna get fillers and overfill my face. I wanna know what surgical procedures can be done to help me get a more defined jawline
6 months post lift with platysmaplasty. Used some sort of revised corset using individually tied stitches rather than a running stitch which could potentially come undone. I was told initially I would not need to have platysma muscles botoxed ever again. I have had to do so, unfortunately, but am finding it still looks loose. Had two cool peel sessions and one RF treatment elsewhere.
I had a SMAS face and neck lift (with lipo) 13 months ago by fully qualified surgeon. I have read all relevant Q&A here with most recommending complete revision. After much hesitation, Ive decided to see my original surgeon. My question is, how much are these complications directly attributable to the practitioner as they are not so uncommon? I want to give him the opportunity to address the issues but am once bitten, twice shy. Recommendations also please. Mortified Down Under!
I had a deep plane neck and facelift 6 mos. ago. I am 51 and had significant neck laxity due to weight loss. The turkey neck was removed, but Ive been left with hollowing and sagging on each side. I posted previously, but some of my pictures were omitted. Im reposting with additional photos of the issue. My surgeon wants to do Forma and CoolPeel which Im reluctant to do. I was told by another surgeon that revision surgery would be too risky because I had deep plane. How can this be fixed?
Im 44 years old and feel like I look decent for my age. My neck, however looks terrible. Its all I see when I look in the mirror and I find myself holding my head in uncomfortable positions to try to mask it. I plan to get a facelift in 5-6 years, but my neck cant wait that long. What is the approximate cost and minimum expected down time? I had a chin implant and neck lipo about 10 years ago and there is no excess fat under my chin. Its all just saggy skin.
A few yrs ago I Iost 100 lbs. My skin does look bad but i had a couple things done that medicare covered due to rashes. My neck and lower face looks horrible and its keeps me in therapy due to loww self esteem now. Even with the weight loss. What is the best thing I can do? I dont know that I can Afford it though.
I don't want the scars in front of the ears. I'm 40. I believe my cheek area is in decent condition, where deep plane facelift is not really warranted yet. I had jawline lipo and didn't give me the definition I wanted. I think I have deep neck fat, maybe glands that need trimming. Is my hyoid high? I'd like to get deep plane necklift with incision under chin and behind ears. I keep reading from some surgeons, neck lift only does not work or last, just because SMAS is connected with platysma. If you are removing deeper structures that add bulk and tightening the platysma, it should last many years, despite not doing a facelift. I'm also considering maybe doing a ponytail facelift in conjunction with deep plane necklift, but concerned about raising of lateral canthus of eyes, potentially feminizing the eyes? I would do the deep plane face and neck, if it wasn't for that ridiculous scar in front of tragus, as a man, we are more prone to scarring, keloids, is unacceptable for a younger man and people will notice the scar even with makeup
