Hey everyone,i am very strongly considering getting my 9 year old implants removed, and I have a consult set up w/ my original surgeon in a few days. I had something called breast hypoplasia (very asymmetrical and different shaped from each other) and was extremely self-conscious about it when I was younger. However, as ive gotten older I just want to be "me" again, and I wonder if the implants have made my Hashimoto's thyroiditis worse. I became a holistic nutritionist a few years ago, and I've been able to help many of my clients regain their health and put autoimmune conditions into remission, but nothing seems to work on me! My weight has steadily crept up in the last 5-6 years, despite very drastic lifestyle changes. I was was unable to breastfeed my daughter, and was so devastated because of it. My breasts had no change during pregnancy, which I thought was very odd. My lactation consultant said that it may not have been because of my implants as much as it was hormonal, and many women with hypoplasia are unable to (surgically enhanced and otherwise). Im worried about getting them out without having any reconstruction and no lift (currently a D cup), but I hate to do anything extra and possibly cause damage to my breasts during childbearing years (just in case I was ever able to breastfeed). I want to have healthy thyroid function most of all and feel good again--I'm very concerned that the implants have caused harm in that area. Im also worried about going back to where I was if I don't do any reconstruction. One side (R) was perky and an A cup, and my left was almost a C cup and much lower with a larger areola. If anyone has any advice on any of this-- thyroid improving post explanation, breastfeeding after reconstruction, or what I may look like with very asymmetrical breasts (will anything fill in?) after surgery, I would SO appreciate it!! Thanks to everyone in this community for posting your stories.
