Hello ladies,I have been worrying myself sick about my breasts over this past week. I had breast augmentation in October of 2015. I received the Mentor textured gel implants. Well, Sunday morning I work up and I noticed that my right breast was sore. I figured that I slept on it wrong and it would get better...it didn't. The next day the pain got worse and the swelling did as well. The right breast swelled up 3 times its size. I sent a picture of it to my Dr's office and they had me come in right away. It did not appear to be infected but I had to go in the next day to have an ultrasound. I ended up having 100cc aspirated off my right breast and it did not get all the fluid. The radiologist that did the procedure kept my Dr informed by telephone as my Dr was in surgery all day. He described the fluid as maple syrup to my Dr however it just looked yellow to me. I have had zero trauma to my breast so I have no clue what is going on. They sent the fluid off to be tested and one of the things that they are testing for is Anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) . I am scared to death of this but trying to stay positive. If you have experienced this type of problem or have been diagnosed with ALCL, can you tell me what to expect? My insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) will not cover this due to it being from plastic surgery and I cannot afford any more surgeries. Who paid for your procedures-the surgeon? the manufacturer of the implant? I checked and Mentor does not cover ALCL surgery!
