Hi All,
Just finished 32 trays. I started invisalign with minor cosmetic issues due to crowding on my bottom teeth. My top teeth (cosmetically) were fine, and two of my five consults actually recommended just leaving them and doing the bottom teeth. In any event, I opted for "full" (top and bottom) treatment after reading some testimonials about bite issues doing only top and/or bottom. Anyways, everything was going fine until I hit about tray 29, and all of a sudden, one of my two front teeth has become noticeably longer (think cartoon rabbit tooth). There has been no attachment on this tooth since tray 13, and was not even being moved according to Clincheck. I got scanned for refinements the other day, and I was kind of put off by the lack of explanation by my ortho (ortho, not dentist, who is an invisalign "platinum provider"). I asked what may have caused this given his experience, and if he would file/do IPR when finished with refinements, and he said something like "well, maybe we'll try to move that one up, ...or try to move the others down". I was just kind of stunned he didn't have more to add. It was as though he had never experienced what I thought would be a seemingly common issue. Waiting to see how many refinement trays will be recommended.
Does anyone have any similar experiences, and having such, what course of action was recommended?
At this point I am obviously kicking myself for having touched the top teeth in the first place. And with the lack of direction from my ortho, I am debating switching orthos or just stopping treatment all together.
Thanks for any input.
