I recently underwent an extended tummy tuck with abdominal repair, flank lipo and gluteal fat transfer to hip dips with Dr. Wheeler and I am more than satisfied with the experience and results. I feel so much stronger and confident with my body (see ya loose skin!) Dr. Wheeler is very professional, gentle, attentive to every small detail and amazing at his craft. His bedside manner is exactly what I needed- confident and reassuring... with a little bit of humor. I was concerned about safety and wanted to make sure that this surgery would be successful without complications. I did a lot of research and talked to friends and trusted professionals who had had procedures done by Dr. Wheeler and after meeting him, I was confident he was the perfect surgeon for me. Without a doubt, he was the best choice. When I went in for my consult, I was expecting a standard TT. Then by the time I left I was scheduled for an extended TT, lipo and GFT. One of Dr. Wheelers talents is that he can look at your body and tell you what you want, even if you don't know what you want. He doesn't just quote you what you came in for, he looks at your body and tells you what your body needs. That is what you WANT in a plastic surgeon. He took the time to explain, in detail, about each procedure, risks, myths, how procedures used to be done vs. how they are done now, safety, etc. and it completely put my mind at ease. His entire staff is so kind, knowledgeable and overall, I can't praise Plastic Surgery NW enough for the care they gave me. For those of you wondering (because I definitely wondered this myself pre-op), a TT and GFT at the same time is not fun. You can't lay on your side or tummy, and you can't put weight on your butt for 2 weeks. So what do you do!? I recommend some sort of wedge pillow setup (from Amazon) so you can prop your back up and prop your thighs up and let your butt hang. This was the most comfortable. My husband had to help me get in and out of this bed setup for about the first week, then I figured it out on my own. The first week is the worst, then it's all up hill from there. I wanted to wait 3 months before writing a review so I could fully heal and give my honest review about the whole process. I had no complications with surgery, aftercare or healing. I followed every rule to a T and listened to my body when I needed to rest. I have noticed that each week my belly button evolves and looks better and better. From what I have heard this will continue for a year+. At 12 weeks post op I can workout 5 days a week, but I still am not doing abdominal exercises. It causes some pain in my belly button area so I'm going to give that a bit more time. For reference, I am 5'2, 117 lbs pre op, went down to 113 right after surgery then by 12 weeks was back up to 117. I had a twin pregnancy and 2 singles, 3 c-sections and a very separated abdominal wall/loose skin from all those kiddos. I am forever grateful to Dr. Wheeler for giving me my body back. Here's some words of advice: >You are allowed to want your pre-baby body back. Don't feel guilty seeing a plastic surgeon to make this happen. I did... and now I don't. This surgery was for ME. >Listen to your body post op, take it one day at a time. >Plastic surgery is for CORRECTION, not PERFECTION >I highly recommend not choosing a plastic surgeon based on your wallet. There are so many horror stories out there. You get what you pay for. Save up if you can't afford it right now. Choose Plastic Surgery NW and choose Dr. Wheeler. You will not be disappointed!!!
I had gastric bypass surgery June of 2020 and successfully lost 127 pounds. I’ve maintained my weight for over a year and was ready to take the next step with loose skin removal surgery. My experience with Dr. Wheeler was incredible. I had my consultation with him in June 2022 and my surgery was schedule for October 2022. He was 100% honest with me regarding everything. He recommended exactly what I needed. I am now a little over 3 weeks post op and am right where I expected to be. Swollen and sore, but on my way to be fully healed. The day of surgery was a breeze. I walked in, changed into my gown, was re marked and was calmed by the presence of the nurses that were there taking care of me. The anesthesiologist was very comforting and made me feel better about going under. Before I knew it I was awake and in the recovery room. Recovery was tough but I made it through and was comfortable through the night. The next more I was released and sent home to heal. The recovery process at home has been the hardest part. I had a drain-less surgery, therefore I did not have to deal with drains which was amazing. I had my 5 day post op check and everything was looking good. I then went in for my 2 week post op appointment and had some fluid drained that was sitting at the bottom of my stomach, I am hoping that I will just have one more time where I have to be drained and will be able to see my results. Recovery requires patience and the ability to rest, so take your time and go slow. I have no regrets with the surgery and cannot wait to see my final results. Dr Wheeler is an honest, incredible surgeon who does beautiful work. He takes pride in his work and for that, I’ll pay good money. Thank you Dr Wheeler and staff at Plastic Surgery Northwest for taking such good care of me. Updated on 7 Jan 2025: Update! The scar is barely noticeable and swelling has gone! Next up, boobs and upper body lift I have noticed that I do have a little bit of loose skin when I’m sitting down, but I think that is normal!
I relied on RealSelf reviews so heavily when I was considering a breast augmentation but had a really hard time finding reviews for anatomic (teardrop shaped) implants placed over the muscle. I wanted to share my experience in case anyone out there is in the same boat! Going into my consultation with Dr. Wheeler I was (I thought) 100% set on round silicone implants placed under the muscle. Everything I researched online favored this style of augmentation, arguing it was the method that yielded the most natural results (a 'natural' appearance was my top priority). After an incredibly thorough consultation with Dr. Wheeler, my mind had been completely changed. He explained to me that natural breast tissue lies on top of the muscle, not underneath, making it a little senseless to place an implant under the muscle. He also explained animation deformity and how it tends to be much more prominent when the implant is placed underneath the muscle. He explained the risks and the benefits to both methods and always let me know that the choice was ultimately mine. He has a great video on his website that details all of this information and is well worth a watch. When I looked through his Instagram page (which is a great resource you should check out!), every single before and after photo that I liked was of someone who went with anatomic implants placed over the muscle. I gravitated towards those because they looked so NATURAL. I researched more and more...and more... and ultimately decided my trust belonged to Dr. Wheeler and if he felt that an anatomic implant placed over the muscle was my best bet, that's what I would do. I am SO glad I trusted him! I ultimately decided on Sientra 255 cc high projection anatomic textured implants. The surgery itself was a breeze. I arrived at their surgery center, changed into a gown, was marked up with a Sharpie, crawled into a nice heated bed, had an IV placed, was given a small dose of valium to help calm my nerves and then headed back to the operating room. The gals in the OR were so kind and encouraging and the anesthesiologist was a saint. I was nervous about going under general anesthesia so she made an extra effort to comfort me which I so appreciated. About an hour later I woke up with new boobs! I was moved to a recovery area for another hour or so and then I was headed home. I lost so much sleep the nights leading up to surgery, I wish I would have known it was going to be so quick and easy! I'm only ten days into recovery but so far it has been pretty smooth. I took a prescription pain medication before bed the first four nights post op but other than that the pain has been manageable with Tylenol and Aleve. Dr. Wheeler explained that it takes around six weeks for the implants to 'drop and fluff' and for the swelling to subside. I'm anxious for that to happen so I can really get a feel for what my final result will look like. In the meantime, I am loving them already! I truly cannot recommend Dr. Wheeler highly enough. He is thorough, kind, highly skilled and simply the best in the business in my opinion. His staff is an extension of his excellence - responsive, compassionate and eager to serve their patients. I am so thankful I found Dr. Wheeler and chose him for my augmentation! I will give additional photo updates as the drop and fluff process takes place!
Dr. Wheeler and his team guided me through a transverse upper gracilis (thigh flap) breast reconstruction following a double mastectomy. Dr. Wheeler explained each of the available reconstruction options and went through the pros and cons for my situation. His explanations were very matter of fact, which I liked. He says it like it is. I knew what my choices were and what to expect from each regarding surgery, recovery, and healing down the road. He did not try to sell any option over another. For me, the thigh flap procedure allowed me to keep my nipples, use my own tissue (which is warm compared to implants) and get a thigh lift as a side benefit (not that I was looking for that.) I did not have belly fat to use so had to go to thighs. Once the decision was made, Dr. Wheeler and his team coordinated all of my care including after the mastectomy. The surgery went off without a hitch and I was in the hospital for one night. As long as I could get up, walk around and use the bathroom independently, they were fine letting me go home. I was on prescription pain medication for 10 days and then only used Tylenol for a week or so after that. The healing process was a little bumpy. I developed an infection at the incision site in one leg which was dealt with promptly. Later, I had a large seroma in one breast and had to have a drain reinserted by a radiologist and then developed an infection. Again, Dr. Wheeler and his team were very responsive and took care of the issue right away. I was always so relieved to be able to talk to someone at Plastic Surgery Northwest without having to be put on hold or wait for a call back. It has been 9 weeks (ish) since reconstruction and I am back to doing pretty much whatever I want. I have not yet been able to start running again, but will do so in the coming weeks. I am currently doing a 30-day plank challenge to rebuild arm, chest and core muscles. :) I am very happy with the outcome of the surgery. My breasts are a different shape than they were originally but close to the same size. There is numbness on the breast mound which is to be expected following mastectomy. I have a bit of fat necrosis in each breast but it isn't painful and will get smaller over time - it's just a thickened spot which you can't see or feel unless you press on it. I can't recommend Dr. Wheeler highly enough. His staff is absolutely the best. They genuinely care about me and my medical adventure. Medical appointments are always very efficient. I rarely had to wait. They encouraged me to ask questions or share worries. They always explained what I should expect each step of the way. I had breast cancer. Now I don't. I am comfortable with my breasts and scars. I'm super grateful for the care received from Dr. Wheeler and his team. I'm moving on with my life now!
Dr Wheeler is the best of the best! He did my mommy makeover 5/19/2022 and my results are incredible even at 2 days post op. He truly is an artist and made my dream body come true. I am forever grateful and highly recommend him!! Updated on 17 Jan 2023: I am now 8 months post op and seriously loving my body. The healing has been really great, no problems and I freaking love how sexy I feel!! My scars look great and my belly button is super cute. Wheeler is the best if you want a real looking belly button. I was super hesitant about my breasts because I wanted round and really big lol. But really wheeler does textured, anatomic. I'm so in love with them. They look so real and I'm glad I didn't go so big. If your looking for the best go to Dr Wheeler Updated on 17 Feb 2024: Freaking in love with my results! Have been working out 3-5 days a week heavy lifting and have further improved my over all results. Absolutely in love with my body and so confident. All thanks to Dr. Wheeler
I have worked really heard to heal from the inside out from many things. Excess skin was in my way and no longer needed. I decided to get curious about plastic surgery to remove it. I am so grateful I made the decision to have the surgery. Two days after surgery I took m compression garment off and saw the excess skin was gone and was overcome with thankfulness and joy. I am worth the procedure cost and love the result!!! Dr. Wheeler and his team were amazing from start if inquiry to where I am now - almost 6 months out
I had a breast augmentation done by Dr. Wheeler & it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From the first consult to the post-surgery follow up visits, Dr. Wheeler & his team are amazing. I am so happy with how natural looking the augmentation results are! I would highly recommend Dr. Wheeler.
I found Dr. Wheeler in July and immediately fell in love with his bedside manner and his passion for his patients. I scheduled to have a Tummy tuck, muscle repair and lipo to the flanks Sept 9th 2021. He made sure I understood everything there was to know about the procedure and never made me feel rushed. He made me feel heard and understood with exactly what I wanted. Too many doctors push you in and push you out these days, but not Dr. Wheeler. My surgery day came and Dr. Wheeler came to visit and check on me before I went under anesthesia to make sure I was OK and see if I had any last minute questions. I asked if he would mind taking photos and video of the surgery and he was very accommodating. He went above and beyond in my request. I am now 8 days post op and I am absolutely thrilled. He did an amazing job on my belly button (the best I've ever seen), my incision line is small and straight. I look great! Dr. Wheeler makes sure his patients are well cared for; he and his staff have the best bedside manner of any doctors I've ever been too. I will be back to Dr. Wheeler for anymore of my plastic surgery needs. If you live across country, he is absolutely worth a flight or a road trip. You won't regret it.
I had a lower body lift with Dr Wheeler in 2020. He did an amazing job. I also see him for my botox and lip/cheek filler. He has helped to give me a transformation that I never envisioned as possible. He is an artist and I trust him. His staff are all very wonderful and attentive. A great dynamic.
My surgeons (Wheeler and Williams) at Plastic Surgery Northwest were phenomenal! They took every opportunity to make sure I was informed, safe and cared for. The results have been amazing and my entire experience was top notch! I’ve been healing well and have minimal pain, especially considering how extensive the surgery was. It’s still early in the healing process, but I would 1000% recommend and I’d do it all over again.
This is a common question for most people who want a rhinoplasty. Given your pictures you are not far off from an ideal female nose and hence why most people say you don’t need one. If you got a rhino the results would be subtle and most people would say you look the same but maybe that would be enough to make you happy with it. Go see a board certified plastic surgeon who has a 3D imaging system that can mimic what your result could look like and upon seeing that simulation if you are not 100% convinced that is what you want then don’t do it
You are thin and I would not recommend liposuction in isolation. It is likely to leave you with a lumpy appearance. My guess is you could have a combo of some lipo and a tummy tuck but this is hard to tell without assessing your skin laxity in person.
I agree with you. If you have a short scar tummy tuck you will be left with uneven fullness on the sides.
Yes we deal with this all the time and yes it is more difficult and the results less predictable when you have had lipo in the past. Your PS is correct on the recommendations. You don’t appear to have much laxity in the lower abdominal skin and maybe consider a reverse tummy tuck.
You can add fat to just about anywhere on the face and done judiciously it will look very natural. This is especially true for weight loss patients
