Dr. Ramineni definitely knows his stuff. He's very informative and is more than happy to answer any questions you have, though you might have to catch him before he runs out the door! He's very busy and tends to move and talk very quickly. He did a very good job of reassuring me when I had a complication that send me into panic.
Dr. Ramineni understood the assignment. He has excellent bedside manner and his staff are friendly and professional. I love the results already and I'm only less than 48 hours post op. I love that he does his surgeries at GWU hospital. Updated on 20 Jan 2023: Coming along. Day 2. I’m gonna love the results.
This is my full honest review of Dr. Praful Ramineni from West District Plastic Surgery, who performed my double incision mastectomy at George Washington University Hospital on March 16, 2022. I had my consultation with Dr. Ramineni on January 20th, after scheduling it about a month earlier. Chavonne at the front desk was super kind and helpful. The consultation was much quicker than I expected - I think I was only in there for half an hour. Dr. Ramineni very briefly went over the basics of his practice and how he typically performs DI mastectomies. He looked at my bare chest for maybe 2 seconds. After answering the questions I had prepared, I got to schedule my surgery for March 16th and that was it. I was expecting to talk with Dr. Ramineni for longer during the consultation as it seemed somewhat rushed, but I’ve also never had a surgery consultation before so maybe they’re usually like that. We’re also still in a pandemic, so I actually did appreciate the limited social contact. Over the next several weeks, I made all of the required phone calls to make sure I was registered and scheduled for my surgery, and Dr. Ramineni and Chavonne answered any questions I had. After reading mostly positive, but some mixed reviews of Dr. Ramineni, I started to worry about whether I had been clear enough to him about my desired results during my consultation. I asked him if I could send some pictures of the way my chest sits (I had very loose skin after binding for so many years) and how I wanted the incisions, scars, and nipples to look. I annotated the pictures to tell him exactly what I was envisioning, I’ve included an example with the rest of my photos. I believe that this is what ensured my happy results. Dr. Ramineni is an incredibly skilled surgeon but performs as many as nine (I believe that was the number he told me) surgeries a day, and with that kind of schedule, it’s possible for small details to be overlooked or forgotten. I paid completely out of pocket for my surgery and I needed to be 100% positive that he would do everything in his ability to give me the results I wanted. Being able to share those pictures with him, and receive confirmation over email AND right before my surgery, boosted my confidence. The day of my surgery came and went, and my healing has been going at the standard rate. I had my drains in until March 24. They were not comfortable, but not as painful as I expected. They did actually put me in the wrong size compression vest, which was way too painful to wear and cut off my breathing, so I had to order a new one online from Marena for $100. Besides that, my physical recovery has been pretty smooth. I’m now at 6 weeks post-op and mostly back to my normal routine. My incisions and nipple grafts are looking great, according to other people who have had DI. There are some stretch marks and puckering around the incisions towards the center of my chest, but that’s where a lot of my loose skin and stretch marks already were so that wasn’t surprising. It also looks like slightly more tissue was taken off of my right breast, so it looks a bit flat/concave on the left (my left) side of my right nipple, while my left breast looks more like a natural pec. That doesn’t bother me, but if that’s something that would bother you I would make sure to talk with Dr. Ramineni (or whoever you decide your surgeon to be) beforehand. I haven’t had any issues with dog ears, which is great. Honestly, I’m a lot happier with my results than I thought I would be, and I still have a lot of healing to go. My biggest takeaway from this whole process is to do as much research as possible on your surgeon, what their abilities are, what their top surgery style is like, and communicate all of your desires to them with as many specifics as possible and make sure you feel heard. Show them examples of what you want so you don’t end up surprised or disappointed by your results. Overall I had a very positive experience with Dr. Ramineni and his team and I’m so grateful and relieved to be physically recovering well.
He's amazing! I researched doctors for 2 years before choosing him. He's low key and doesn't do much on social media so he was able to book my surgery within a 2-month timeframe. I had a tummy tuck with muscle repair, breast lift, arm lift and lipo in one surgery. My breasts and arms started off as asymmetrical but Dr. Ramineni evened them out perfectly. I was considering implants and he talked me out of them telling me I would look very proportional after the surgery. He was right! I plan to return to him for a thigh lift soon.
Dr. Ramineni was knowledgeable, professional with great bedside manner and did amazing. I highly recommend him for all surgical procedures. Still in awe at my breast reduction and lift. The entire staff was professional and helpful along the entire process. Choosing a doctor is key in this process and I can definitely say Dr. Ramineni surpassed my expectations!
He was very informative! He listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions making me more comfortable with choosing him as my doctor. I was impressed. I’ve Ben to navy other surgeons trying to pick the best one for me and I know it’s him!
My BBL 360 experience on 4/9 with Dr. Ramineni and Shavonne was wonderful! I would definitely recommend Dr. Ramineni for lipo. His bedside services were great and he made me feel comfortable and he was confident that he could achieve the results I wanted and he did.My prescriptions were put in prior to my surgery so I had everything I needed. I saw him the next day which was really nice. I loved that I was able to make payments on my procedure up until the week before and everyone was really sweet!
First, thanks to all that have shared their experiences here! I followed this site for months and found my surgeon on this site. I chose my surgeon based on a few things in addition to the normal things eg board certification - 1)proximity to my home ( I didn't want a long car ride to from surgery/follow ups), 2) reviews & pictures that I found on RealSelf and Facebook groups, 3) competent & responsive office staff, 4) surgeon's ability to explain his/her procedure and plan and to do it in a way I'd understand, and 5) just a genuine connection/gut feeling. Dr. Ramineni was my second consult out of 5 originally planned. I felt like I knew immediately, but I still did the other consultations which is good bc I learned more and could ask more questions. Fast forward and it's done as of 1/6/2021 so I'm almost 4 wpo. I am so happy with the results, but my recovery has been SLOW. I still feel like I'm moving SOOOOO slow. My PS says that I can lightly jog now and I'm like I can barely walk! LOL Some tips- 1) make sure to talk about scar placement. We didn't talk about it as much, but I'd seem pictures of his work. I meant to show him with a garment I brought in day of surgery, but I forgot. My scar is beautiful so far, but the ends are a little higher than I'd wanted. I wanted more of a curve down vs up. 2) get a recliner for post op and make a list of all the stuff you need and make sure your got it set up ahead of time 3) eat healthy before and definitely after. I kinda suck at this myself, but I really believe it helps with healing and minimizing swelling. I took Juven for the first couple weeks post surgery and I generally try to get 75g-100g of protein a day. 4) Find whatever ur remedy you want for swelling bc it WILL happen!! Drink LOTS of water!! Updated on 5 Feb 2021: I feel like I’m finally turning a corner where I feel like I’m moving more and not as sore. This week’s milestones- 1) returned to bed for sleeping (thank you for your service lift recliner!) AND sleeping on side which is my preferred position. Doing it by stacking pillows for my head, folding a blanket into a roll to support front and back and pillow between legs. 2) showering completely by myself and able to reach lower legs if I sit and cross them over one another. 3) moving better!! walking better and faster up and down stairs. Plan on taking my first outdoor stroll this weekend. ????
This procedure is not to be taken lightly. You really have to do allot of research and kind of figure out on your own how to get yourself better after having this done. You also need to communicate with your doctor to find out what garment he's putting you in after surgery. I think had I been in a better garment early on, I would have been able to do more walking. My issue was that my binder prevented me from walking. I was in so much pain just getting up, the cotton padding had my stomach feeling as if I was getting poked by something really hot every time I moved, and so after getting put into a medium sized faja the next day that took all the feeling out of my legs, and i ended up cutting off me, I still was not walking as much as I should.I barely walked for the first 7 days after surgery and that was really, really bad because I ended up passing out at my doctors office after my 7 day post op, then was rushed to the hospital to find out I had Pulmonary Embolism, and had to have emergency cardiac surgery to remove the huge clot on my lungs.I am now almost 30 days post op and I am finally starting to feel like myself again, even though I still need help. I have not slept on my stomach or my back, to try to preserve what the doctor did. My abdomen is finally looking nice and flat, but this is due to me wearing my compression garment 24 hours a day with lipo boards in the front and the back. For those of you thinking of doing this, I want you to please do your research. All in all my doctor did a fantastic job on me. I am loving my results even though I know I still have a long way to go. Changing my eating habits is also something I said I would do afterwards. I definitely appreciate the love and care Dr. Ramineni and his awesome staff gave me.The fault was mine for not communicating appropriately and asking the right questions from my doctor, not researching till it was too late and definitely not ensuring I was in the right garment the first time around. 1. You definitely need someone who can physically lift/carry you (this person should also ensure that you are WALKING)2. I purchased a few compression garments from amazon and was in them within the second week.3. You need Lipo boards for your front and back (This will keep your skin smooth and help with the compression)4. You need to be taking vitamins 5. You need to be eating healthy afterwards for sure. Eating healthy helps ensure that you don't get inflammation. I've seen reviews where people say that they are really swollen at night. It's what you eat during the day. Stay away from salt, processed sugar, milk products and carbs. Eat lots of good protein, fiber, fruits and vegetables.6. Drinks tons of water to stay hydrated. These are the things I've purchased that has helped extremely well with my recovery: - Lymphatic drainage drink- Shapewear tummy control faja - i purchased about 3 sizes, xxl, xl and l - every week, I lost inches so i went down in size pretty quicklyAbdominal Lipo board for the front)- Post Lipo back board for your back - this is a lifesaver, my back felt torn to shreds, but using this! OMG, my back doesn't feel any pain- HealFast - I started these vitamins 5 days prior to surgery then 10 days afterwards Updated on 25 Jan 2021: Pictures of after my surgery to include tummy tuck scars. I am only 7 weeks post op. I just took off my compression garment with the lipo boards in order to take these pictures. I usually keep this garment on all day and only take off to sleep after I shower. The marks you see are of the lipo boards. However, if you leave the lipo boards off for almost 24 hours, the marks fade away. I really have no more swelling, but i still like to wear the compression garment and lipo boards, and I am still not sitting on my butt, even though the doctor says I can.
My surgery is scheduled for June10th with Dr. Ramineni. I will post before and after pics. My experience so far with the Dr. R and his team has been awesome. Dr. R offered to fix my doggie ears free of charge from a previous surgery (breast reduction) done by a different doctor. He is very nice and caring. I feel like I am in good hands.
To slim down your lower face and jawline, botox can be used to decrease the muscle volume of the masseter. For a more dramatic result, the mandibular angle (bone) can be reduced in addition to removing some of the masseter muscle. This is a more permanent result and the incisions are all made inside your mouth, so there is no external scarring.
It's definitely possible to use your own fat to fat graft the labia to give them a more youthful appearance.
In general, silicone is injected into the shallower layers of the tissue. Since it's a fluid, it can migrate down as far as the feet. It can be safely, however not all the silicone can be removed. Most of the time, symptoms improve and the aesthetic result is better (and less material means less potential migration in the future).
Unfortunately, there is no way to selectively remove silicone (or all the silicone) after injections. Generally liposuction is done to debulk the area and to avoid over resection. If a patient has enough fat, a second stage can be performed to add fat if needed.
If you are at least a year out and still have filler in the malar area (or scar tissue), this can be manually extracted though a lower lid incision.
