This procedure is not to be taken lightly. You really have to do allot of research and kind of figure out on your own how to get yourself better after having this done. You also need to communicate with your doctor to find out what garment he's putting you in after surgery. I think had I been in a better garment early on, I would have been able to do more walking.

My issue was that my binder prevented me from walking. I was in so much pain just getting up, the cotton padding had my stomach feeling as if I was getting poked by something really hot every time I moved, and so after getting put into a medium sized faja the next day that took all the feeling out of my legs, and i ended up cutting off me, I still was not walking as much as I should.

I barely walked for the first 7 days after surgery and that was really, really bad because I ended up passing out at my doctors office after my 7 day post op, then was rushed to the hospital to find out I had Pulmonary Embolism, and had to have emergency cardiac surgery to remove the huge clot on my lungs.

I am now almost 30 days post op and I am finally starting to feel like myself again, even though I still need help. I have not slept on my stomach or my back, to try to preserve what the doctor did. My abdomen is finally looking nice and flat, but this is due to me wearing my compression garment 24 hours a day with lipo boards in the front and the back.

For those of you thinking of doing this, I want you to please do your research. All in all my doctor did a fantastic job on me. I am loving my results even though I know I still have a long way to go. Changing my eating habits is also something I said I would do afterwards. I definitely appreciate the love and care Dr. Ramineni and his awesome staff gave me.

The fault was mine for not communicating appropriately and asking the right questions from my doctor, not researching till it was too late and definitely not ensuring I was in the right garment the first time around.

1. You definitely need someone who can physically lift/carry you (this person should also ensure that you are WALKING)

2. I purchased a few compression garments from amazon and was in them within the second week.

3. You need Lipo boards for your front and back (This will keep your skin smooth and help with the compression)

4. You need to be taking vitamins

5. You need to be eating healthy afterwards for sure. Eating healthy helps ensure that you don't get inflammation. I've seen reviews where people say that they are really swollen at night. It's what you eat during the day. Stay away from salt, processed sugar, milk products and carbs. Eat lots of good protein, fiber, fruits and vegetables.

6. Drinks tons of water to stay hydrated.

These are the things I've purchased that has helped extremely well with my recovery:

 - Lymphatic drainage drink

- Shapewear tummy control faja - i purchased about 3 sizes, xxl, xl and l - every week, I lost inches so i went down in size pretty quickly
Abdominal Lipo board for the front)

- Post Lipo back board for your back - this is a lifesaver, my back felt torn to shreds, but using this! OMG, my back doesn't feel any pain

- HealFast - I started these vitamins 5 days prior to surgery then 10 days afterwards

Update on my procedure

Pictures of after my surgery to include tummy tuck scars. I am only 7 weeks post op. I just took off my compression garment with the lipo boards in order to take these pictures. I usually keep this garment on all day and only take off to sleep after I shower. The marks you see are of the lipo boards. However, if you leave the lipo boards off for almost 24 hours, the marks fade away. I really have no more swelling, but i still like to wear the compression garment and lipo boards, and I am still not sitting on my butt, even though the doctor says I can.

looks really good!.. So you had to stay in the ER that many days? Also did your clothes not fit anymore? Im a big shopaholic I love to buy clothes, im scheduled to have a tummy tuck and lipo 3/25/21 however, I am about to go crazy because I really can't buy clothes like that until after the procedure bc I don't know if it drastically reduces the pant size (SZ 11/12) or if it only effects it a small bit? I'm thinking I wont be able to fit the stuff I have now. I'm 5'4 and 185 lbs, I'm thick built wit a nice backside! I want to lose weight but much! Being skinny (120-125) all my life made me appreciate my weight after the birth of my son. How was the pain afterwards and what did they give you for pain?

I was in the ER for about 4 days total. So the waist line of my clothes does not fit anymore. I used to wear a size 14, but now my waist is like 11. I'm currently wearing a size medium faja, but can go down to a small if I wanted to. I wouldn't suggest purchasing clothes until after about 2 months. Go into a store and try on clothes. If you're buying online you have to look at the elastic percentage. The more percentage in elastic means the more stretchy it will be. So if you're wearing a medium now, you may be wearing a extra small by the time you're done with surgery. The pain was terrible. That was something I really underestimated. See if your doctor can give you the xparel shot, this is an injection they put into your abdomen that will take the pain away for 72 hours. My dr hospital didn't allow it, so I couldn't get it.

THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK. I HAD A C-SEC WITH MY SON, AND THAT HURTED LIKE HELL..MOST PEOPLE COMPARE IT TO THAT. IM NOT LOOKING FOWARD TO THE PAIN, BUT I AM EXCITED ABOUT HAVIN THIS BELLY FLAT. DID YOU TAKE BEFORE PHOTOS? MY DOCTOR SUGGUESTED THAT I HAVE LIPO AND TUMMY TUCK BUT I DONT THINK I NEED BOTH, WAS IT YOUR IDEA TO DO BOTH LIPO & TT OR DID THE DOCTOR RECCOMMEND?

I am just now seeing your comment. I had 2 c-sections, and let me tell you it really does not compare. My c-sections did not hurt at all. Like I didn't have any pain. There is really nothing to compare a tummy tuck to; you just have to know that the pain is worth it and it gets better and you will look fabulous when you're all healed up. Just know and be prepared to get up and walk around throughout your pain, because walking around is paramount to not getting a DVT.

You look great. Im strongly considering seeing him. These tummy tucks are so expensive. After 4 c-sections. I want my flat tummy back.

My Dr is good and definitely worth every penny I paid. You just have to follow the instructions he gives you and know that every day gets better and better. Make sure you have a great support system in place. Someone that will force you to get up and walk even through your pain. It will be intense for the first week, but every week gets better and better and you will be loving the results and being able to wear whatever you want to wear and look fantastic.
