Dr. Carney and his staff are extremely professional and made the entire process as stress free as possible. Every appointment I was made to feel at ease and comfortable. Most importantly Dr. Carney does great work.

On Tuesday, I’m scheduled to reduce my chubby cheeks with buccal fat removal. In addition to buccal fat removal I will also undergo a bit of micro lipo for my jowls. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been insecure about my face. No matter how much make up I apply, it never appears to make any difference. Over time it became quite apparent that I lack any natural contour on my face. I would often try to compensate for the lack of natural contour in my lower face by adding darker make up. In the end “contouring” only made my face look extremely blotched. I’m so tired of covering up my lower face with makeup in an attempt to define my cheekbones. So, three days from now, I will be undergoing an outpatient procedure at The Cearny Center in Virginia Beach. I’m excited and ready to finally look at myself in a new light. I’m so tired of caking on makeup. I hope that buccal fat removal and the micro Lipo will make the difference I so desperately need. Updated on 24 Oct 2020: I’m in love with this result! Her face shape is quite similar to mine. The above patent also had a over pronounced lower face. This outcome wold be lovely. A girl can only dream. Updated on 28 Oct 2020: Pain was not bad a little woozy after sedation. So much swelling. Couldn’t move bottom or top lip. Updated on 1 Nov 2020: Still swollen. I’m noticing, with the lipo to the jowls, that I can really see my double chin (front and side profile). With under the chin, I hope that I’m simply swollen from the surgery. I’m praying that it will go down eventually. Another note: before the surgery, I had pronounced temples. They stuck out so much. I never liked putting my hair in ponytails. It appears that the fat extraction, maybe, included the temporal extension of buccal fat as well? I’ll ask the doc during my follow up next week. I’ve been applying ice to the affected areas and I’ve been taking the anti inflammatory meds. My face is changing everyday. Updated on 1 Nov 2020: I still have a lot of swelling in my jowls. Swelling under my chin seem to have gone down a bit (but not much). I’m starting to look like how I looked before the surgery. From what I’ve read... I should see final results in a few months. Updated on 28 Nov 2020: I have slight pains in my jowls and cheeks. I’m still very swollen! I apply ice every few days when the pain becomes annoying. The ice therapy feels great. There is a slight difference in definition within my lower face. But it looks a lot better than before. I’ll prob need cool sculpting for the bit of fat under my chin as well as a chin augmentation to finally balance my face.

So Day is my first Emsculpt treatment. I am 43 years old. 5'7" and 155 lbs. I have 7 year old twins. Ever since giving birth I have had muscle weakness in my core area and a csection shelf of fat/flat tire. I am hoping this procedure helps to strengthen my core, stomach muscles, and provide some flattening in my stomach area. Before my c section I didn't carry fat in my midsection and had a very strong core. I also was an athlete in High School and College, so I'm hoping some muscle memory will come back. I'm realistic that I will not get well defined abs sense I have about 10-15 lbs of extra weight on me. (My ideal weight is around 145lbs.) But I'm hoping the muscle benefit from this procedure will help me up my workouts and help create a more stable core.

I had heard lots about EMSCULPT, watched videos about it, and read testimonials and was very curious to try it myself. I workout regularly, eat clean, and do not have much "fat" to lose but I have NEVER had ab definition. I am 54, have delivered 2 kids, and have had several abdominal surgeries. I have to admit I was skeptical about the results but I am pleasantly pleased. Some results can be seen immediately but I have definitely noticed a change in my abs in the last month. Emsculpting: if you’re considering it but worried it may be just another gimmick, or perhaps painful or unpleasant, let me allay your fears. It does have a sound, but the contractions are painless and almost like a little massage. You can definitely feel it working from the moment the treatment begins. After the rounds of muscle contraction, there is a tapping: the tapping I described as a reflex hammer kind of feeling (or what I imagine a woodpecker would feel like pecking at your tush). Results are best seen after 4 treatments. I’m sharing the video to show it’s easy and effective. Unlike some of the painful, torturous procedures that didn’t work, the slight muscle “soreness” (it was not anything like when my trainer kills me) immediately was evident. The day afterwards, there was no prohibitive discomfort at all. I was able to work out as normal, knowing I’d done some work to lose a bit of fat and hopefully tone up my backside! Updated on 8 Feb 2019: I’ve been trying to work on my lower body for years: after over 120 pounds of weight loss with diet and exercise, I’ve been left with some fat pockets that defy all my attempts at diet and squats. I was thrilled at the prospect of Emsculpting building muscle and burning fat, as I need both to avoid sagging skin. However, I’ve been fooled before by the latest treatments. One was so ridiculous and absurd, I was embarrassed to have bought into it; they essentially strapped flashlights to my thighs, then stuck me on an elliptical for a half hour, and finished with a wobbly plate that was supposed to magically abolish all fat. The lady tried to cheat my after measurements, and denied it when I pointed it out that the two inches of “loss” only happened because she measured differently for the after. Anyway, after a few wonky and expensive treatments, I was wary of Emsculpting. My doctor assured me that its science is solid; he took the time to explain the procedure and what to expect. Essentially, it is not painful at all. It was almost relaxing. There are rounds of contractions that are not unpleasant; the contractions are followed by a tapping to release lactic acid. The process takes about 30 minutes, and anyone can resume normal activities afterward. I imagined I would be sore afterward, but surprisingly, I was not, even after working out. I’m looking forward to sharing my before and after photos, as I’m confident this process will be worth it! Updated on 7 Mar 2019: I saw a huge difference even after the first week. Started when I was 30 and been doing it every six months since (I’m 36). Used to last 5+ months, now I’m down to 4 months. I think it’s worth every penny. Just make sure you find a good provider who understands how to maintain a natural look with some expression

Dr. Carney took lots of time at my consultation, the staff was friendly and easy to approach. His patient coordinator is lovely so kind and genuine! I have seen three other doctors and he listened to my concerns without making me feel uncomfortable. Plastic surgery can be a little intimidating, so when I get my time off at Christmas I know the surgeon I will have perform my procedure! His staff has been working with him for years this speaks volume of the type of doctor he is!

I have been to Dr Carney for multiple procedures. He listens to what I have to say and does give unrealistic expectations. I am aware there are limitations to things that can be done. I’m not 25 anymore but he is helping me age gracefully. Love the surgical staff and the entire office.

I had CoolSculpting on my upper and lower abdomen on September 6, 2017. The treatment went exactly as explained. I felt very pampered during the treatment and have not experienced any pain or side effects so far. I had my first follow up appointment 2 days ago. The change at this point has been gradual but since I am 67 years old, I didn't have unrealistic expectations. So far, so good.

I have loose skin above my knees. I had a 100 pound weight loss, and had a thigh lift, but it did not correct the lumpy, crepey skin above my knees. My doctor did not believe a thigh lift revision was called for, although pulling up the skin to imitate a thigh lift created the results I wanted. He convinced me to try Thermitight, as he said it was the only option for the knees. After the procedure, I had two giant burn blisters on my left knee. They were dime sized, but very deep and took over two months to heal. I was able to walk without too much difficulty several hours after the procedure, but the front of my thighs felt very tight, as if the skin was re-draping. I was very hopeful. I wore a compression garment 24/7 for 2 months. I still have some swelling, but there is very little improvement to the area. All I wanted was to be able to wear shorts or dresses that hit above my knee. There is still no way I would don a Sparkle Skirt (running skirt) now. I see my PS on Monday, and I plan on letting him know how unhappy I am. There is no visible improvement. If there was a knee lift, I would have chosen that option instead.
