Raman Malhotra, MB ChB FRCOphth

I went to see Mr Malhotra as I was concerned about a long, strange bulge under one eye where previously I'd had a lower bleph. I was wondering if I needed more skin removed or fat repositioning. Mr Malhotra was very likeable and I felt completely at ease talking to him. After examining me, Mr Malhotra said that he thought my bulge was FILLER, not eye-bag fat which was quite a revelation to me. Actually not until I came to post this today did I remembered I'd had Profhilo in the past, so I'm wondering if it was that that had made the lump! Mr Malhotra offered to try and *move* or lessen this lump of filler for me by pressing it (hard!) against my orbital rim. Naturally, being a cynic I never really thought this would actually DO anything. ;) BUT it has improved the lump under my eye by about 70% I'd say! Bonkers! Plus I had been scheduled (with someone else) to have Morpheus 8 into the lump/bulge which I won't need to have now - huzzah! Very pleased all round. :)

I had Asian blepharoplasty in Dec 2019 that unfortunately resulted in ptosis in the left eye, this was with another surgeon, not Mr Malhotra. There wasn't a lot of reviews on ptosis surgery but fortunately I found Mr Malhotra. I consulted with a number of oculoplastic surgeons in London, one of them actually said it wasn't worth undergoing ptosis surgery unless the correction was at least 2mm. My left eye was only 1mm lower than my right eye but it bothered me immensely and made me look tried and old. I found it assuring that during consultation Mr Malhotra said that he had devised his own technique for ptosis correction and was comfortable correcting for small amounts of ptosis. I had the surgery at the Centre for Sight, even though the ptosis on the right side was minimal, I decided to have surgery on both eyes. The surgery was under sedation and pain free; I did look like I had been in a fight for the first 4-5 days but by 1 week post op I looked pretty normal. I am now 2 months post op and I'm very happy with the results. The lid height and eye shape are very symmetrical and I no longer look tried. I've included a photo - the top is before, bottom is after. Mr Malhotra's secretary, Gill is also very efficient and always responds to any emails very quickly.

Raman Malhotra carried out my bilateral eyelid surgery because I felt reassured by his skills, knowledge, and clinical expertise, which was evident in the manner in which he carried out his assessment. He is approachable, empathic, highly professional and meticulous when carrying out a number of tests to ensure that he could achieve realistic results, and I felt that everything he did was in my best interest. His pre and post op instructions and advice were clear and concise and he made himself available for me to contact him in the event I had any further questions or if any issues were to have arisen. It is apparent that he is a highly skilled surgeon who is inclusive when working with his team in order to get the best results for his clients. From the moment I met Mr Malhotra I felt relaxed, and confident. And by the time I left his office to the time that I walked into the hospital for my operation, I felt that I could totally put my trust in him. The results are brilliant. Having procrastinated about having my eyes done for many years, I am thrilled to say that the process couldn’t have been easier and more painless under the extraordinary care of Mr Malhotra. From the initial contact with his exceptional PA Jill, to the post operative follow up, I cannot fault the treatment and care I have received. I was extrnely well prepared for what was to happen, the procedure itself was smooth and painless. The support given to me throughout was second to none. The most inconvenient thing about it was the desperate boredom of staying indoors and tryimg to sleep upright for a few nights! If you are looking for a surgeon to perform any procedure on you, I can not rate Mr Malhotra more highly.

I've seen Mr Malhotra about 4 times for botox and fillers over the years. I always want higher cheekbones and fewer wrinkles! He did a wonderful job every time and is a very pleasant and patient man! There was a nurse who sat in on my visits - he described her as his "quality control"! She was also a very nice lady. All in all, I am very happy to recommend Mr Malhotra!

Having never had a cosmetic procedure before and being an NHS healthcare professional myself I did a great deal of research before finding Mr Malhotra. I was reassured by the fact that he is an oculoplastic surgeon who also practices in the NHS. I also wanted someone who specialised in this area and knew the anatomy, rather than someone who does a whole range of cosmetic procedures. I was particularly put off by some of the glitzier websites that said all the right things but somehow seemed overly focussed on drumming up business. Mr Malhotra was perfectly professional, kind, understanding and keen not to do more than was necessary. He set out what he thought I'd need at the first consultation and the fillers were done in a two stage process. I am utterly delighted with the results and with the care I received. Mr Malhotra was keen to do what I wanted, to address my concerns while guiding me as to what would look most natural. Does he offer the cheapest service? No, but I don't believe it right to expect highly skilled and experienced professionals not to price their services accordingly. If I had wanted it cheaper and been willing to take a greater risk with the outcome I could have. I am delighted I have found someone who I can trust and can revisit in the future as and when needed to maintain the result. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

I had considerable fat atrophy around the eye due to long term use of Lumigan eye drops for glaucoma prevention. This had caused hollowing and also drooping at the juncture with the cheek with some asymmetry. I didn't want to undergo surgery for personal reasons and so opted for dermal fillers in the tear trough. i visited Dr Malhotra last year and had a top up a couple of days ago. I probably could have waited a further 6 months at least for the top up, but since I had deliberately not gone for total correction first time round, the top up enabled me to go for a more defined result after having had time to evaluate the results of the original filler. For all visits the procedure has been totally painless. At the most I've had a small bruise. Dr Malhotra has a very good capable manner which gives me confidence in the procedure (I'd read up all the risks beforehand and was initially quite concerned). I am very satisfied with the results.

Mr Malhotra performed bilateral ptosis repair and upper eyelid blepharoplasty on me on June 15th 2017 at Gatwick Park Hospital and I could not be happier. In the run up to the surgery, after my initial consultation, I was quite anxious about the ptosis procedure and had lots of questions. These were answered immediately by Mr Malhotra, in good detail and I was reassured. The actual surgery took me completely by surprise as it was totally pain free. Thanks to Mr Malhotra and his incredible team ( nurse and anesthetist) the whole procedure was also completely stress free. I was sedated for the first part and then awake for the second while Mr Malhotra did adjustments and the stitches. It was not an unpleasant experience in any way and I felt in very good hands. After 5 quiet days at home following the after care instructions to the letter I began to see how the surgery had turned out and I couldn't believe my eyes - literally! Mr Malhotra is obviously an extremely talented surgeon as I am so happy with the results. HIs skill is confirmed by the very quick recover. I had very little bruising and no complications at all. It is now just under 3 weeks after surgery and my eyes are still a little puffy in the morning but are looking amazing! My husband can see a big difference but nobody else has noticed - although lots of people have said I look really well - which I am enjoying. I cannot recommend Mr Malhotra enough. An extremely nice person who has a superb reassuring manner and is obviously at the very top of his game.

He is simply amazing. I have seen him three times for tear trough filler, and the results were consistently good and pain free. I am quite scared of doctors usually, but he makes me feel really comfortable. I could not recommend him more.

In November 2014 I became ill with pernicious anemia causing me to loose a lot of weight, and so I gained dark lines under my eyes. My looks have changed a lot since having the illness, so I have lost a lot of confidence and been very unhappy with how I look. I now appear much older and always look exhausted, unwell and undernourished. I researched for over a year to try and find a solution to the problem with my dark under eyes, and finally after reading many stories I found Raman Malhotra on Real Self. I noticed there were a couple of bad reviews on him which started from one girl's thread, so I was a bit 50/50 to whether or not I should proceed with my consultation as it cost £200 which is pretty expensive. I couldn't find any other professional surgeon specialising in eyes that I liked the work of, so I thought I would take a risk because the good reviews out weighed the bad. I was SOOOO happy I did choose Dr Raman Malhotra , because I couldn't have even dreamed of a more perfect consultation. The moment I stepped inside his office I felt welcome and greeted in a genuine way. Everything was very professional and detailed. I have a big medical history and a lot of medical problems, but Dr Raman Malhotra took his time to address everything. Because of my allergy to bees, he told me that it was best to under fill the eyes on my first time so the dissolvable solution would not be needed as it was too risky. Dr Raman Malhotra was very patient of my needle phobia, and kindly played some background music to calm my nerves and let me close my eyes so I didn't have to see the needles. The nurse was so lovely and really helped to take the edge off of my fear. She talke to me the whole time and I didn't pannic and cry like I normally do with needles. I had to ice under the eye area before the restylane was going to be injected. It was a very strange feeling when the solution was going in. It wasn't a typical sensation of needles. I heard weird clicking and crunching noises. It was very bizzare for me since it was my first ever experience of any injectibles to the face. It wasn't really painful like I expected. Just weird!!! Overall the experience was pleasant and calming. I was allowed to get up in between each session to check how my eyes looked in the mirror. I could see instant results. It was amazing. My mum came with me and she was impressed too. I was in the clinic for 1.5 hours, so that just shows how much care was taken with my consultation and procedure. I cannot wait to go back again for my top up in a couple of months time. I will add some images of my progress so you can see the results. I would highly recommend Dr Raman Malhotra to everyone based in London and the UK. He is the lovliest guy I have ever met, and I hope my review will help others that may have been put off by the negative comments on here. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions. Updated on 17 Apr 2016: I have noticed less lines under eyes now. Even though I have slight bruising, I dont have the hollow areas any more. My eye area looks much fresher. Cant wait until all swelling / bruising has gone. All my images are without make-up to show the true results. Updated on 18 Apr 2016: Ive had a headache everyday fromt he swelling, but paracetamol has helped. My cheeks feel less sore today. It hasn't been too painful overall, but main hurt to blink and sore around the nose, and cheek area. Feeling much better today. Updated on 30 Apr 2016: Quite a lot of improvements each day. I have continued arnica and not too sore today. Just a bit tender under the eyes, but not wearing any make-up. Updated on 30 Apr 2016: My last update for a while as I'm having a rhinoplasty done. I took a photo of myself with no make-up in the same location as my very first photo before I had my treatment done. I noticed in good lighting you cannot see any darkness what so ever. I am verrryyy happy with my results and it's only 1 week. I do have slight raised lumpy areas but I was told I can massage them on day 10. I think I was extremely lucky with my results & picking a top dr. Updated on 30 Apr 2016: Side by side photo to compare results after 7 days. Updated on 23 May 2016: Just a quick update for you all.... So I have had a rhinoplasty which is the reason I have not posted any updates for a while, as I have been recovering from that. Luckily I didn't get too much bruising, but it did effect the results of my eyes slightly as they appeared quite dark again for a while. They did remain looking good in terms of no hollowness, and now that 99% of the bruising has gone, I am really happy that I can see the results from Raman Malhotra's injections. I am meant to go back in one month for a top up but I am already happy with the results already. I do have slight lines under my eyes which is fromt weight loss and maybe improved with the 2nd injections so I will have to ask him on my next visit. I have uploaded an snapshot of how my eyes look outdoors now. Updated on 23 May 2016: Updated on 12 May 2017: I went back to see Mr Malhotra after 6 months of having eye fillers and he told me my eyes looked much darker since my rhinoplasty. He explained this seems to happen to a lot of rhinoplasty patients. He told me to return some time in the spring to see him which I did yesterday. I felt that I needed a top up as my eyes looked fairly dark and indented again. When Mr Malhotra saw me, he said he could still see filler in my eyes but noticed it had moved due to the swelling around my nose from rhinoplasty. So instead of having more fillers he just re-moulded what I already had under my eyes. I felt slightly dissapointed at first as I was looking forward to getting a top up, but when I looked in the mirror after his re-moulding technique, my eyes looked amazing. I instantly felt like I had more filler in my eyes. I bruise easily so I applied an ice pack when I got home, as he pressed quite firmly under my eye area. When I woke up this morning I couldn't stop looking in the mirror. My eyes looked so much smoother and even less dark. For the first time since before my rhinoplasty I went out of my house without make-up on ;-) All I can say, is Mr Malhotra is the most lovely guy ever and does not try to take money from you. He is very honest and told me I wouldn't need any more filler for 1-2 years. I am so happy with my results and after care. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! ***************
