Rhinoplasty

My results were & still are shocking

**AVOID RHINOPLASTY** I had a septorhinoplasty with Ken Stewart in 2019, I know now I was naive in my selection of surgeon. Further consultations with rhinoplasty surgeons have expressed its best to choose a surgeon who specialises in a specific surgery & not a “Jack of all trade” offering multiple surgeries. My results were & still are shocking, highlighted early on my post op concerns & attended early post op consultations but it was apparent there was no plan to correct my concerns & consistently told my results were within reason, I now know that is because my revision surgery is a complex one, involving rib grafts. After my last post op with mr Stewart I started the official complaints process via spire (which is not easy) I was then offered £500 from spire as a goodwill gesture & £1400 from Mr Stewart in the agreement I removed my negative/honest reviews. I declined. I have since consulted with Mr Charles East & his colleague Mr Abdulkadir Goksel both rhinoplasty experts, who agree my revision surgery will be complex. Also highlighting disbelief my primary surgery was carried out by a ENT surgeon. 4 years on my results are awful, I have a deviated septum which was never repaired, breathing issues I did not have pre-surgery & a deformed looking nose.(see photos) I have yet to find the courage to undergo revision surgery, having had it booked multiple times. If you are considering rhinoplasty I hope this review helps to give an insight as to what may happen if it does not go to plan.

Masculinizing Top Surgery

dunnett1998

Very, very good masculinizing top surgery 2 months ago

I went through Spire Healthcare with Mr Ken Stewart and I had a very very good experience. He’s very straight forward with how the procedure goes/results and in a nonchalant way so that you understand everything properly which I really enjoyed. It also made it more comfortable and didn’t feel as surgical if that’s something you aren’t too keen on. The day of the surgery itself went well all the staff that came to speak to me and the nurse that looked after me afterwards were all really kind and polite and just very attentive. I’d rate Spire 10/10. I’m 2 months post op now and my results are more than amazing in my eyes it was worth every penny. I also had zero issues with contacting Spire, paying and every follow up has gone smoothly and has always been on time never had a late appointment.

The work he did on my ears was phenomenal - very happy

Ken was my surgeon in November 2022. He was great to work with, very clear and concise with the information and exceptionally personable. The work he did on my ears was phenomenal, I'm very happy with the end result which was pinning my ears back to a more aesthetically pleasing position. Many thanks Ken

Ear Surgery

An Absolute Godsend :)

I had ear reduction and one pinned back in early April. All my life I haven't been able to tie my hair back, walk with my head up when it's windy or go swimming without embarrassment (to name a few)....all the things people take for granted I couldn't/wouldn't do. I can't express enough how much Mr Stewart has changed my life, I actually can't stop looking at my ears now and even had my hair up on holiday. I want to shout from the rooftops how happy I am. If you are looking to get this kind of cosmetic surgery carried out with Mr Stewart I can't recommend him highly enough. Care and treatment was (and still is) second to none. Thank you so so much for everything Mr Stewart, at 55 I can now hold my head up high. Kindest Regards Linda

Breast Augmentation

10/10 Breast Augmentation. Complete Confidence Boost!

I had my breast augmentation with Ken Stewart a little over 18 months ago in late 2019. From the minute I had my initial consultation with him I was 100% confident he was the surgeon I wanted to go with. On the day of surgery Mr Stewart and his team were amazing and put my nervous mind due to it being my first ever surgery at ease. My results are amazing! They actually just keep getting better with time and I will definitely be back for breast augmentation’s in the future with Ken Stewart.

Ear Surgery

My Ears Are Now Perfect, Thank You!

I have been putting off writing this for months as I know it will be quite long.. I had otoplasty (ears pinned back) and an ear reduction at the same time in Aug 2020. I had met Dr Stewart (Ken) online and in person prior to this to discuss my requirements. I have hated both the size and prominence of my ears since being a teenager. I was bullied. I didn’t realise there was anything wrong with them until I was told by others. It’s sad really, but kids can be horrible little gits. My left ear was by far the worst and I found out from Ken it was actually a good few cm longer than the right one. This bothered me most. The consultations were thorough and Ken was rigorous in checking this was going to benefit me psychologically as it’s quite an invasive procedure and obviously the reduction isn’t something you can easily reverse. I was in two minds about whether to do the combined procedure as the reduction seemed like a bigger risk than straightforward pinning back. I decided due to cost and travel and the fact that I didn’t in all honesty feel that simply pinning back would fix the issue, to have the combined surgery. His secretaries are brilliant and miles better than that of other ear specialist surgeons I had consulted with. Prompt and polite. Refine surgery were really great. Most importantly: he is in a league of his own when it comes to surgical skill. Totally unrivaled in my opinion and I’m very happy with my ears and that’s what matters most. I was actually recommended Ken by another otoplasty surgeon. I had it without a general anesthetic so that I could leave hospital quicker. I travelled from the North East to Stirling for the surgery and went home the same day. I had local anesthetic in both ears. I won’t lie it did hurt being injected there, but felt nothing after that pain-wise. Ken is amazing once you’re in surgery. I’ll say that I didn’t find his bedside manner in some of the consultations to be the most warming.. but I think this is to make sure you really definitely do want it done and are sure it’s the right decision. Once in the surgery room he chatted away and made sure I was comfortable and at ease. His colleagues were total professionals too and some of the nurses there were lovely to me before and after. The main thing is - he just knows what he is doing with a scalpel. I wasn’t sure what I was going to find once the bandages were removed. I won’t lie, the anxiety is real having it bandaged a few days and you wonder what they look like. Sleeping for the first few days is almost impossible. I needed the codeine I was given and took it all. There was quite a bit of blood for me because of the reduction part but it stayed within the layers of bandages. When I eventually did remove the bandages myself my ears looked close to my head but pretty perfect. This evened out after a few days and now they are just amazing. They were very very tender for weeks. I got my stitches removed about 10 days later I think, at my local GP. Ideally I’d recommend going back to see Ken if given the choice, and having him or an experienced surgical nurse remove them, as the local nurses where I am actually missed one or two of my tiny butterfly stitches and I had to go back and they were unpleasant. So go back to Stirling if you can post-op to have them removed properly by Ken or one of their nurses. Ken recommended a good scar gel too which has helped to minimize scars. I don’t think they’re even noticeable at the front and only two small lines at the back but they will probably fade even more yet. The COVID test posed a bit of a problem as I had to have a negative test before going into hospital so they posted one to me but it was a bit confusing as to when to send it to ensure it was processed but still within the narrow timeframe of my surgery. This is the only part that was a bit confusing as to what to do. I’d also say there was no check up or follow up consultation. Had there been, I would have had nothing but praise really. I only wish I’d done this years ago. Ken - a thousand thank yous! You’ve given me my confidence back. I can FINALLY wear my hair up again. First time since being about 13. I can swim and exercise without being full of shame. Talented isn’t the word. Thank you!

Breast Reduction

I have wanted a breast reduction for over 10+ years, after trying on the Nhs and being turned down, I decided I wasn’t going to wait any longer and booked my consultation with ken Stewart. Best decision I have made. Bupa murrayfield were excellent from start to finish. I was treated brilliantly from the original consultation right up to my procedure and after care, has been excellent. Ken was friendly approachable and answered all my questions. He was honest about the outcome and didn’t guarantee a size which I understood. On the day of the procedure the nursing and theatre staff were all kind caring and put me at ease. Had minimal anxiety going into the procedure. On returning to my room I was made comfortable and regular pain medication was administered, nurses were on hand for all my needs. I had drains in which I have to warn are not the most pleasant and very painful when they take them out. I went home the following day. Lots of rest for and recuperation for a few weeks. I had a follow up appointment this week and dressing removed, on examination they look great still swollen and slight misshapen on one side but they will take time to settle so I’m not concerned. Further appointment with mr Stewart next week to have the surgical tape removed.
