Hi All, I wanted to share my HT recent experience so far. I decided to have Dr. Ilhan Serdaroglu do my surgery in Istanbul. I had surgery on 25-NOV-2024. The evaluations were done by the Doctor. I never talked with any marketer. I have looked into many other clinics though. I did not like the given options with prices like many clinics do for having a doctor or technicians doing the surgery. I avoided the most expensive and the cheapest in the area. I learned that there is no way for one person to do the whole surgery. A surgeon with his team is needed. I chose one team and one doctor.. Dr. Ilhan recommended doing the front, front sides and the crown with no subsequent surgeries needed. The surgery was done in his clinic. All the stuff made me feel comfortable. There was noone else having the surgery that day but me. Dr. Ilhan did the extractions. Most doctors do incisions but all the parts like extractions, incisions and implants are important Extractions taking the longest and incisions taking the shortest time. Dr. Ilhan was present most of the time and his team did the incisions and implants. The anesthesia shots were somewhat painful. I did not feel any pain afterwards. I had a checkup the 1st day after the surgery due to a minor incident with my head touching a lamp (I was so mad at myself, Doctor answered my call at night). Doctor does not expect issues but if he offered corrections at no expense. The wash was done on 2nd day after the surgery. I left Istanbul on 3rd day after the surgery. I got meds from the Doctor on the day of the surgery: farmisol antiseptic, crebros antihistamine, navaritis voltaren, prednol. I later purchased from his clinic Trixowell shampoo, serum and tables for 6 months supply. I have been on finasteride for years too. I stayed at Elite Grand Istanbul Kuckyali for 4 nights ariving the night before the surgery. I would recommend minimum 3 nights. I rented a car from IST(inexpensive) but I have not used it to go to the clinic and back. Uber/yellow taxis are inexpensive, and you do not have to deal with the parking which is a challenge. The hotel was nice (recommend ocean view) with a Hilltown mall within walking distance (10 -15 min). I have exchanged emails with Dr. Ilhan after the surgery with questions and follow ups. He is very honest and supportive. He offered small corrections of temple areas if I do not like the results. I am attaching some pics before the surgery and 2 weeks after the surgery. The barber commented that I have one of the best looking donor areas after the HT he has ever seen and the hair on top of the head feels full. I am attaching some progress pics. I made a post after the surgery with some details. I got HT in Istanbul with Dr. Ilhan Serdaroglu and his team. I am long on 1mg fin daily that I will continue. I am still taking foam min and vitamins I got from the doctor for another few months. I would recommend this doctor.

Everything was perfect. The procedure went smoothly, and thanks to Dr. Ilhan’s professionalism, I didn’t experience any bleeding, pain, or itching even right after the transplant. I interviewed with many clinics and doctors, and after meeting with Dr. ?lhan, the trust and information he gave me immediately convinced me. As I said, I did not dare for 10 years, I decided immediately after meeting Dr. ?lhan. He and his team did an excellent job. He personally performed the operation for 4-5 hours and came and checked from time to time. He waited until the end of the procedure. The operation started at 9.30 and lasted until 7. The next day, there was no pain, swelling or edema. I have never encountered a situation like I was afraid of. Today is my 3rd day, I returned to normal life and went to work. The operation, which started at 10:30 on Friday morning, 10/5/2024, was completed at 18:30. It was almost as painful as a dental implant. It was almost non-existent. The first 4 hours were spent with preparations and harvesting of grafts, the next 4 hours were a break for food etc. and a grooving/transplantation session. At the end of 8 hours of conversation and music; I left healthy and happy, thanking the whole team. As a result of my research and the clear and detailed explanation/approach of my teacher ?lhan; My 30-year period of baldness is over. The first night passed and there is no pain or swelling. I recently had my first ever FUE transplant on 30 Apr 2024 with Dr. Serdaro?lu. I talked to several clinics but decided on Dr. Serdaro?lu because, although there were some cheaper options, he inspired me the most confidence from those I consulted. I especially liked that he himself responded directly to my email questions (and he did so thoroughly and promptly), there's only one patient per day in his clinic,d the reviews (various sources), his involvement in the field of hair transplantation, and that he's has been trained as a plastic surgeon. The transplant experience was pleasant and professional and realistic expectations were set based on the degree of my baldness and of my donor area. The first part was an initial brief interview/conversation to make sure I was ok healthwise, provide some of my background info, decide on the hairline extent/shape, and setting expectations. Then it was a photo shoot. Then the procedure itself - he handled the approximate first part of it himself and then it was followed by assistants (also pleasant and professional). He was available throughout the entire process if needed. There was a lunch break during the procedure (they provided a meal - I was asked whether veg or not so that's a nice consideration). I would only advice them to be a little more explicit on when one can realistically take a bathroom break so as not to make it disrupt the flow, and also to more actively offer hydration. Overall, I did feel taken care of and that I was the main priority during the procedure (as I think it should be for this). Once done with the procedure, instructions were given on post-op care and precautions. 2 days later I came back for my first wash and further post-op considerations. Also, I was free to ask or comment on anything. Dr. Serdaro?lu emphasized that I can contact him with any questions and that he wants me to be happy with the results, therefore to let him know any concerns now or in the future so that he can do something if needed. He reminded me to please send him updates to ensure that the recovery and growth is going smoothly. The approach felt sincere and it did provide me peace of mind that he will be there professionally if needed after the procedure. It is too early to say this was a complete success, but so far it has been and I feel comfortable with my decision in having done this and chosen Dr. Serdaro?lu and his team - Thank you! I get in touch with Dr. Ilhan Serdaroglu for a hair transplant operation. From the first contact and consultation all the way to the post operation the experience was really professional and satisfactory. This is not a clinic where they do transplants of 5 patients in a row like a factory. You are the only patient they take care, the facilities are great and the staff is super helpful. Dr. Serdaroglu himself handles the design of the hairline together with you than performs the first half of the operation. After lunch break the second part is handled by his assitants. I had a lot of open space at the front and top of my head and we aimed for around 4000 grafts and managed to around 3900. It took around 8-9 hours including the lunch break. Post-operation, they give you all the instructions for the next two days and they even called the next day to see if I need anything. After two days they do the first washing, remove the bandage and teach you how to take care of the hair for the next two weeks and then the following months. You can also acquire all the needed drugs, shampoo, serum etc. from the clinic. All in all I am very happy with the procedure and have no regrets so far. Of course it's not possible to know how the result will look like in 6-12 months time but I am hopeful that it will be satisfactory.

I had my surgery done two days ago. I can say that it was a very wonderful experience. Before meeting I have already emailed Dr. Ilhan back and forth and he have replied to me in a timely manner and answered all of my question prior to meeting him. During the procedure day I had met him briefly discussed everything (as I already wrote to him on email what I wanted) he did the hairline where I wanted. I was taken to take pictures and draw the line for the new hairline. After going to another room to shave off the donor area. Afterwards, he even asked me if I had breakfast and if I wanted to go ahead or want breakfast. I went on with the procedure and rest assure the whole process was a breeze not once did I feel uncomfortable, his work was efficient and he mostly did the procedure. I am pretty sure it will heal as I did not take any pain killers the next day. I will keep him posted and hopefully it should turn out great.
