Congratulations on your surgery.  You are looking great at this point in your recovery.  It is still early, and I think that your implants will continue to get better with time.  Be patient, and I think you will have a great result.

I think that you should get more than one consultation, and if you are told the same thing by more than one surgeon it might be your anatomy that is limiting the volume.  We determine high profile, moderate profile, etc. based on your breast measurements.  These same measurements as well as tissue quality etc. also help us determine the maximum volume.  I would not recommend an additional surgery to go 75 cc larger.  There are risks with every surgery, and the small increase in size does not make it worth the risks.  How much you fill an implant doesn't determine the profile, it is the type of implant you decide to go with.

You need a dedicated breast MRI with implant protocol.  This is the best imaging to detect a rupture.  It is not uncommon for ultrasound and mammogram to show no rupture even when there is.

Congratulations on your augmentation.  Thanks for the question and pictures.  I think that you will look amazing.  You just need to give it some time.  Breast Augmentation typically doesn't start to look good till about 2-3 months after the procedure.  Be patient, and they will look great.  Your tissues just need some time to relax and get used to your new size.

Thanks for the question and photos.  It is always harder to tell from photos how much tissue needs to be removed.  I think that 500 grams would make you a smaller than a C/D.  My guess would be around 350-400 to get you to that size.  Make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon, and go with the amount that they recommend to get you to your desired size.  Don't force the 500 grams just to meet insurance criteria.  You will not be happy in the end.  Also, if you try to force more tissue resection than your body will allow, the risk of complications will go up.  Congratulations on your decision to have a breast reduction.

Is 440cc the right size for me? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thanks for the question.  I always think that it is helpful to do an implant sizing day where I have my patients bring in a D/DD bra for instance, and come in and try on the actual implants in different sizes.  This way you can see #1 how they look on your body, and #2 see what size you like.  Call your surgeon and see if this is an option for you.  Congratulations on your breast augmentation.

This does happen sometimes.  You can always have your doctors office appeal the decision, and you can call your insurance yourself and see what you can do to further appeal their decision.  I have found that patients have more influence on decisions from their insurance than they think.  Ultimately, they have the final decision.  Thanks for your question.

Thank you so much for the pictures and question.  This is something that is seen with breast reductions.  It is usually related to poor blood flow, but you can't tell everything from the photos.  This is seen at the T junction because blood flow has to get to those tips of skin, and tension from the weight of your breasts further disrupts the blood flow.  Make sure that you have close follow up with your surgeon, and follow their wound care instructions for your particular situation.  I usually have my patients wash this area with only soap and water, NO peroxide/alcohol.  Sometimes they need dressing changes, and sometimes just some Bacitracin.  It depends on how it looks in person.  Make sure to discuss this with your surgeon.  These heal, but they do take some time to heal, and can get larger before they get smaller.  Usually, they heal, and don't change the cosmetic result much.  Congratulations on your breast reduction.

There are a lot of different techniques for a breast reduction, and I use different approaches in all patients depending on tissue resection, excess skin, and nipple location.  Ultimately, the most important thing is that you have found a board certified plastic surgeon that you are comfortable with.  Look at their before and after pictures, and if you like their results, that is what matters.  You can get good results with all different incisions and pedicles.  Every patient/surgeon is different, and you should trust your surgeons judgement.  They will do the approach that they feel will give you the best result in your particular situation.  Remember that different surgeons will always have different opinions on what they think will work best for your situation in their hands.  Thanks again for the question and the pictures.  Congratulations on you decision to have a breast reduction.  It will change your life.

Thanks for the question and photos.  It looks like you are still very early after breast reduction, and most of these things get better with time.  If you are concerned, make an appointment with your surgeon for evaluation.

So happy - my recovery was easy and I had not one complication

Dr Lovelace and her team are wonderful! It took me 27 years to get the courage to do the surgery. Dr. Lovelace and her team are very professional, compassionate, caring and answered every question thoroughly and put my fears at ease. They truly care about their patients and love what they do.I had a TT, MR, Lipo and a cute new belly button! My recovery was easy and I had not one complication. She did an amazing job. My only regret is I didn’t meet her sooner and wait until 52 to have confidence and feel good about my body.

Botox, lasers & injections - I love my results!

Dr. Lovelace has helped me to loose 54 pounds, operated on me, done lasers, and injections. I love my results. I get complements all the time. I passed up multiple plastic surgeons to get to her office, and I am so glad I did. I highly recommend her. She treated me like family. She was very professional and knowledgeable. She made sure I understood exactly what to expect.

Optimistic Restoration

I started my search of improving my mid-section after having a sleeve in 2018. I lost over 80+ pounds after waiting so long to be healthy. I lost the weight and still had a body image issue so I went in pursuit of a tummy tuck and breast lift. This I hoped would allow me to get my body back after waiting over 30 years from the kids wrecking my body. Dr. Lovelace was so patient and answered all of my questions which assured me to go forward. I am a nurse so her taking the time to explain and re-explain meant the world to me saying yes. I am healing and was in awe of the major difference seen already. She lived up to her reputation. Updated on 5 Jan 2020: I am thirty days from date of my surgery (12/3/19). Things are still progressing. I am starting to move more and I experience tightness more in the evenings. I assume this is because of the internal swelling that occurs. I still have numbness and don't really have feeling. When I touch the abdomen to high upper thigh areas; it just feels like pressure and not true feelings. So far the incision is healing and looking great. I am just glad to be back to work half days so I don't have to concentrate totally on the healing process. I will provide updated photos from my next doctor's visit on 1/27. I can't wait to get back to a full cardio workout. Energy is still low and so is my appetite. I don't know if anyone else lost their appetite the first month. Maybe that will pick up soon. Updated on 15 Jan 2020: I am going on week 6 post op and healing pretty good. I am still trying to get use to the tightening that occurs at the end of the day. It is more annoying than anything. I have been back to work and able to stay a whole day now so stamina is getting back. I see the doctor next week and hope she will tell me that I can increase the exercise level. I really can't wait to start lifting weights because my muscles are shrinking. Updated on 9 Aug 2020: I am updating my journey from having a Tummy Tuck and breast lift in December of 2019. I am still very happy with the results and have stopped wearing my compression garment finally. With that change I notice that I get very tight in the evenings and slight swelling as expected for the first year. To help with that I eat very little salt and carbs. I eat a lot of veggies and little meat to help maintain my nutrition. I have to maintain focus on this because it is so easy turning to junk eating when I am stressed. However, with my sleeve 2 years ago, I really watch the poor nutrition and eating habits so I can try and stay healthy. Some other things I notice is that I have to try and stretch to help with the constant tightness but I will see if that tightness change eventually. I am enjoying getting in clothes and have to remind myself to not shy away from certain clothing because I now have a flat tummy. The psychological change is hard.

Looking fabulous

Want to look good? Want to feel wonderful about yourself? Well thats the reason for my post. I want to share with everyone my wonderful experience with Dr Candis Lovelace. I had a breast augmentation back in 2012, was told that I was getting lift, more fullness up top yes everything that you would want at nearly 50. I have been unhappy since. You can see in the before pictures there is nothing about those breast that are attractive. You can also see where he moved up my aerola and missed some. Now look at the after photos!! LOVE THEM!! Dr. Candis Lovelace took her time with me at the consultation, explained to me what I needed done and was very honest that she will do her best to give me the breast I wanted. I scheduled right away, I didn't need to think about it or get a second opinion shes that caring, honest, and trustworthy. Post op she explained to me that she had to do more than she thought and fix me up even though it was not quoted to me. She told me what she did would have cost a lot more. That's caring about your patients right there. She made sure that I had the best treatment she can offer. All she had to do was what she quoted and later tell me remember I told you I might can get them as full up top as you wanted. She didn't. I would refer everyone to see her. She makes you feel like a friend forever.

Best Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Lovelace is so professional and meticulous. She has done multiple procedures and surgeries on me. I come from out of state to see her because she is the BEST! I have sent tons of my friends to see her as well, and they look amazing. She takes her time to explain everything and answers all my questions most of the time before I even get a chance to ask. Her staff is so sweet and on top of everything. Her office is beautiful and clean. I can't say enough good things, but if you are considering a cosmetic procedure, Dr. Lovelace is who you need to see.

Better than I could have imagined

My friend who is a nurse at the hospital originally reccomended Dr Lovelace because she's the only surgeon who "truly cares about her patients". She's the only one who comes to the hospital and will physically walk with her patients the day after surgery. Other surgeons will tell the nurses who are very busy with multiple patients to walk with their patients. So then your recovery depends on which nurse you have and if they take the time to do their job correctly. Once I saw her before and after pictures I knew she was my surgeon. She strives for perfection in everything she does. She's honest and will recommend what's best for what you're wanting to achieve. She's extremely personable and has a wonderful beside manner. I promise you will be pleased beyond your expectations if you choose her as your surgeon. I'm 37 and have 3 children. I didn't have a flat stomach before children and really didn't after having them. She did a Tummy Tuck and Lipo of my outer thighs. I've always had extra saddlebags on my outer thighs no matter how small I got. My results are better than anything I could have imagined. I look better now than I did 18 years ago. Before kids. I promise you will not be disappointed

I was highly self conscious regarding the wrinkles to my forehead area and between my eyes, and wanted to do something about them before they got worse. Therefore I had Dysport done to my forehead as "preventative maintenance". My forehead is now smooth, and I could not be happier with my results.
