Master of the perfect pout

PERFECT POUT, NO BRUSING and a PRETTY COOL GUY to boot. I'm extremely picky, I would NEVER want me as a patient. I will notice if something is 1 millimeter off. When I confessed this to Dr. Whitfield he responded "Millimeters count", I immediately knew I'd found my guy. Dr. Whitfield plumped my lips using a candula which prevents damaging blood vessels and results in no bruising and...

Explant Surgery...So Glad I Did It!

I am so glad that I was referred to Dr. Whitfield, he is the best! A lot of Doctors don't believe in breast implant illness and not to say that he does. But he really listened and heard my concerns. I feel like that's important and it's what I needed. Any questions I had, he was more than happy to answer them, even if I asked them a hundred times. He assured me everything would be fine, and it was. I not only had my implants removed, but I also had a lift. I was told that it's probably not best to have bot procedures done at the same time, but we did. And he was great at being able to gauge and sculpt me soon to be itty bitties. The surgery center was very clean and welcoming, and so was the staff. They were friendly, helpful and took great care of not only me, but my mom who flew into town to be with me during the surgery. After care was just as great as during. I had some problems because the implants were actually too big for my body type. But Dr. Whitfield saw me through that also. Over all I am very happy, and would recommend that whatever your needs are The Breast and Body Center and Dr. Whitfield will take care of you.

BRCA-2 Positive, Breast Reconstruction Following Prophylactic Mastectomies - Austin, TX

I was diagnosed with the BRCA-2 gene mutation in May of 2014. I immediately started consulting with geneticists and a surgeon who specialized in mastectomies. From every consult came one overwhelming recommendation for my reconstruction options: Dr. Robert Whitfield. When I called to schedule a consultation, I was rushed in when most practices would have booked me months later. While their...

Fillers - Austin, TX

I asked Dr. Whitfield what fillers he would recommend to make my upper lip fuller and to smooth some of the lines above. I also wanted more fullness in my cheeks. I'm 59 years old and felt my face had begun to look too thin. He used Restylane Silk and Lyft and I'm very please with the results. Dr. Whitfield is very personable and made me feel comfortable throughout the procedure.

52-year-old Mother of 3, DIEP Flap Reconstruction--SO Happy with the Results! - Austin, TX

I couldn't be happier with my DIEP results or with my choice of surgeons. I knew from my first appointment that I had made the right choice. Dr. Whitfield clearly explained both the DIEP and implants procedures in terms my husband and I could understand. I've been his patient for about nine months and have learned a few things: he cares passionately about his patients and wants us to have the best possible outcome. He is a perfectionist and an artist. He is warm, personable, and fun…there have been times I’ve had to remind myself that I was in his office because I had cancer…what a gift he gives to his patients to be able to help them forget that for even a few minutes! Dr. Whitfield can generally control what happens in the OR but can’t control how a patient’s body will respond or how a patient behaves during recovery. He is human; he gets understandably frustrated when things don’t go as planned or when a patient doesn’t follow his advice but his bedside manner is exemplary. He is amazingly gifted and my reconstructed body is evidence of that! One of the many blessings that have come from my cancer journey has been the privilege of getting to know him. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Whitfield and his excellent, compassionate staff and have and will continue to recommend him to anyone facing breast cancer reconstruction.

Explant and DIEP Flap Reconstruction - Austin, TX

I went to Dr. Whitfield to get implants that were causing issues, removed, & have the DIEP flap reconstruction. I have been so impressed with him and his staff. While it's been a BIG surgery and recovery, I'm so happy with the results....he's a very skilled surgeon. I highly recommend him!

DIEP Flap Reconstruction After Double Mastectomy - Austin, TX

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August, 2013... 31 Jul 2014 10 days post I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August, 2013. Shortly after being diagnosed, my world turned into a series of doctors appointments. I had a bilateral mastectomy in September, 2013, followed by 6 rounds of chemotherapy, and 33 treatments of radiation. After this, the biggest decision I had facing me was whether to undergo plastic surgery or not. Unaware of how to even go about choosing a plastic surgeon, I was referred to Dr. Whitfield via my breast surgeon. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Whitfield, so much so that I did not feel the need to get a second opinion. His staff were friendly, and efficient. The wait times were minimal, and plenty of reminders were given for appointment times (which is a huge plus considering the effects of "chemo brain" and many other appointments that come with the diagnosis!) Dr. Whitfield recommended a DIEP flap for reconstruction. Initially, this scared the life out of me. I was apprehensive, and wanted to learn more about it before committing to the procedure. Dr. Whitfield was extremely patient with me during this time, and allowed me all the time I needed to make a decision. He was helpful and very informative. I decided to go ahead with the procedure. I am now 10 days out of surgery, and could not be happier. My initial hesitations were further nullified upon hearing the nurses at St. David's say that his patients typically recover very well, and are easy to deal with! He is very highly regarded by them all! Hearing this was very reassuring knowing I had the following few weeks of recovery ahead of me. Thank you Dr. Whitfield for the time and patience you gave me. I look and feel great again!
