I recently underwent breast explant surgery with Dr. Wu, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! From the moment I walked in, the staff treated me with kindness and respect, easing my nerves and making me feel comfortable every step of the way. Amanda, the anesthesiologist, was incredibly attentive and reassuring during the procedure, which was a huge relief for someone as nervous as I was. Dr. Wu’s expertise and care truly shone through, and the results are beyond amazing! I’m so grateful for their professionalism and the exceptional level of care I received throughout the entire process. Over 10 years ago I had surgery for 350 cc saline implants, sub-muscular with a donut lift. Those implants took me from a B to a DD and at first they were, but then I realized these last few years I have put on some weight with age and reverted to hiding them, wearing mostly minimizer bras or high neck sports bras. When I looked in the mirror all I saw were giant boobs and I decided it was finally time for me to remove them. In March or so I had a consult with Dr. Wu. I saw some of her before and afters online and was impressed with her work. I like how she has extensive experience with post mastectomy breasy reconstruction. I met with Dr Wu and after that consult decided to schedule surgery. Dr Wu has 3D imaging technology in office and can give you an idea of what your breasts will look like after surgery. A couple weeks after my consult I came back to have my saline implants deflated. The plan was to deflate, then come back in 4 weeks to assess. That would give the breast tissue time to retract or settle (not sure if I’m using the right terminology). I had my surgery last week and am really happy so far. The pain associated with the lift is pretty bad, but after 5 days I’m feeling somewhat better. Still tired. The body healing takes a lot energy and I small outings currently exhaust me. Updated on 8 Jul 2019: Recovery has gone well. I’m using my silicone treatment, scar massage when I can remember, sometimes using micropore tape. I have a post op appointment this week and will ask my surgeon about my areola on my right breast. My nipple seems so slightly off center and the areola is elipse shaped. It has gotten better over the last few weeks and I know areolas are not perfect. My husband noticed it as well. Other than that, I loooove them. So happy to have no implants and be so lifted. It feels amazing.

After being uncomfortable with my boobs for a long time, I thought it was time to take the steps towards the body I wanted. Dr. Wu was very informative and helpful along the way. Her 3D imaging system helped me choose exactly which implants I needed and showed a simulation of how they would look after surgery Updated on 20 Apr 2019: Still in love with my augmentation. They have healed so well and feel great. Dr. Wu really assisted me in making the right size choice for my frame and body type. Bra shopping was interesting, definitely recommend going to an establishment with someone that will do the sizing because trying to figure it out alone is way too hard! Updated on 31 Oct 2019: I am about 1 month out from my 1 year mark! My implants feel so natural and have settled so nicely. I often forget that they are actually in there. Over the year, I will I was kind of constantly worried that something was going to go wrong because the whole process seemed so seamless I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop! But, it never did and I am so happy with my results. My biggest advice after all of this is having a surgeon and staff that will 1) take all your phone calls when you are worried about little things and explain the process of settling over and over, but also 2) someone who is willing to work with your timing and your needs. This process is so exciting and I did not want to feel like I was being rushed or pushed to do something in a time frame I wasn't ready for. I absolutely think that this process is worth it if you are considering it! Photos to come!

Dr Wu was there for me from my initial diagnosis of breast cancer to my reconstruction. I had a skin saving mastectomy with immediate followup reconstructive surgery and i could not have been happier with the outcome or level of service. She not only is an artist but she is one of the most caring doctors I have ever been to. She has always been there for me whenever I needed a question answered or some reassurance. You will not find anyone more qualified or skilled and you will not find a nicer or more caring doctor.

I absolutely love Dr. Wu. She’s a true professional who genuinely cares about her patients. I was a little concerned because she’d never done my Botox but as soon as I met her, I knew my concerns were unfounded. She was very thorough in her consultation, she listened to me, and ensured that she understood the outcome I was looking for. I did not feel rushed or pressured into getting anything else done. She did my Botox last week and I could not be happier. Highly recommend her.

Dr. Wu was one of my doctors when I had my breast reconstruction after my mastectomy. She is caring and considerate and makes you feel comfortable throughout every step of the process. I would highly recommend Dr. Wu. She knows what is best for you and your body.

Dr. Wu did a Fantastic job!! If I ever get anything else done I will go back to Dr. Wu. She is the best! Although, the recovery time takes a while I have noticed drastic changes in one week now to six weeks and i can't wait to see what it will look like in 6 months. Every day the body changes and it looks better and better. I love it.

Dr. Wu was one of my doctors when I had breast reconstruction after my mastectomy. She was absolutely wonderful! Kind caring! She went above and beyond what most doctors would do. I feel so blessed she was one of my doctors!

Fantastic work on a double upper-eye lift. Faster recovery than expected, practically invisible scar and double the visual field I had before. UNC was also a great facility, professional, personable and thorough. I only wish I had done this earlier! I look like a photo-shopped version of myself.

Dr. Wu was with me every step of my breast cancer journey. When I was first diagnosed (months before I would even need her services), she clearly explained my options in regards to reconstruction. Once it was time for me to have my surgeries, she was compassionate, precise, and always ready to hear my concerns - everything you want in a doctor. I liked best that she thought about my case after I left the office. Multiple times she would call me after a visit, with a way to tweak what we had discussed. I always felt that we were working together and would highly recommend her!
