QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Thank your for your question and photos.  I would recommend seeing a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who can inject hyaluronidase to dissolve some of the filler.  You can also start massaging them home to hopefully help breakup some of the filler.

Good Luck!

Hi-Thank you for your question and photo.  As this tattoo is black, I think it will likely be easily removed.  However, there is always some uncertainty as tattoo inks are not regulated or standardized in any way.  I would suggest a picosecond laser such as Enlighten and plan on at least 4 treatsments.

Good Luck!

Thank you for your question and photos.  I prefer to use Restylane or Belotero under the eyes.  I also like using PRP in this area.  If your injector is more experienced and comfortable with Juvederm then you should be ok.  Be sure to see an expert, especially for filler in this area.

Good Luck!

Will laser removal leave a scar? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your photos and question.  Generally the risk of scarring is very low.  However, some people do develop fibrosis, or thickening of the skin which feels like a scar, after tattoo removal.  The best way to reduce this risk is to see a board certified expert who uses a picosecond laser, such as the Enlighten.  You will require less treatments and therefore have less risk of scarring.

Good Luck!

Thank you for your question. 80 units is a lot of Botox just for the forehead, is is possible it was Dysport.  Perhaps ask you doctor how the Botox was diluted or have the same doctor or another try Xeomin or Dysport.

Good Luck!

Necrosis two days after Juvederm? (Photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your photos and question. The area does appear red and swollen and although I doubt this is necrosis there is no way to tell for sure.  The best thing to do is see your doctor asap.

Good luck!

Thank you for your question.  I would recommend laser tattoo removal.  Ideally you should find a board certified dermatologist that has a picosecond laser.  It will likely not take many treatments.

If the drooping tip is all that bother you, I would advise trying Botox first.  By injecting the muscle that pulls the tip down, the tip can be lifted.  If that doesn't work as well as you would like it to a little filler can also be place to lift the tip.

Good luck!

Excision will definitely be faster than laser as with laser you will need multiple sessions and it will take a few months.  However, excision will leave a scar.  If you have 6 months, I would suggest trying laser first with a picosecond laser such as Enlighten.

Good Luck!

I am so sorry you are going through this but this is very reason higher percentage chemical peels should not be performed at home.  At this point, do not pick at the areas and apply only aquaphor and sunscreen and get in to see a board-certified dermatologist asap to discuss wound care.

Good luck!

Fantastic Treatment

The experience was wonderful. This treatment had little to no downtime and Dr.Shah was great. This microneedling technique didn't even hurt and I saw results right away! If you are considering microneedling treatments, the Vivace is the one to get.

Effective - found it totally bearable

The pain was totally tolerable after numbing and the smoothing/tightening effect can be seen immediately after. will update if any change over time. I went with a high depth/rf level (6) and found it totally bearable. I received this complimentary treatment at the RealSelf House of Modern Beauty

Hair Loss Treatment

Seasiren14

My hair grew in thicker than I could have ever imagined

Seven years ago, I was experiencing severe hair loss. After seeing multiple dermatologists, I was referred to Dr. Shah by one of her colleagues. Dr. Shah was the only doctor that diagnosed my medical condition and came up with a plan to aggressively treat my hair loss. I wore a wig for 9 months and as you can imagine it was a very dark and depressing time for me. Eventually my hair began to grow under that wig and my hair grew in thicker than I could have ever imagined. Dr. Shah is a very compassionate and through physician. She is current on all new medical treatments in the field of dermatology. Dr. Shah, suggested there was an underlying medical problem that was causing my hair loss and referred me to my primary doctor. Through blood tests I found out I had Lupus, an autoimmune disease. I continue to see her for all of my dermatological needs. She is a true professional and I would never see anyone else. She has my trust... SmarterSkin Dermatology also, has a top notch office staff. Whenever I call with a problem they get me in to see the doctor asap.

Looking Like Myself, but Refreshed and Extra Glowy

I love Dr. Shah's down-to-earth nature and natural results! I had Fraxel laser on my face, neck, hands and chest to get rid of some textural issues and sun damage. I feel refreshed and my skin looks glowy and feels smooth.

Dr. Shah is amazing!

Dr. Shah is AMAZING, I would highly recommend her. I saw her recently for my botox treatment. She was very kind + personable and I appreciated that she spent time with me to explain the procedure + all my treatment options. She started very conservatively with my botox and I genuinely believed she cared about my results. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Dr. Shah for botox or other derm services. I have also seen Nicole Lyons, Dr. Shah's PA who was also wonderful. She was the first dermatologist to clear up my acne. Both providers are top notch and I highly recommend visiting the downtown office for both botox + acne needs.

Best Doc

Amazing, smart sweet and educated. She is by far one of the best doctors in NYC. She is patient and tales her time to make sure you’re comfortable and well informed. Gentle, so very little pain is felt throughout the procedures and she doesn’t make your visits feel rushed.

Bigger Lips, Bigger Confidence - New York, NY

**WARNING: after the procedure you wallet will be very upset with the amount of lipstick you buy!!! :) Since lipstick is so popular now, I would always try some on at the makeup counter but was never satisfied with the way I looked with some on. Since I've got my lips done I am so much more confident. I'm unafraid to put on crazy lipstick colors and draw attention to my larger, fuller, beautiful lips. They look so natural and Dr. Shah is an expert in technique which made the process virtually painless. She enhanced both my lips and gave me the exact pout I had envisioned. Her demeanor is of one who truly cares about patient satisfaction. Thank you Dr. Shah for the confidence and lip boost.

Fighting the Good Fight - New York

This time I went to Dr. Shah for Botox and Fillers. (I've been her patient for years) She is extremely well trained, current on all the latest procedures and equipment, and has amazing technique. The fillers softened the overall look of my face while giving my cheekbones more definition. I love the results!

37, Quite Thin and Tones 5'7" 123lbs. but Just Cannot Get Rid of Saddle Bags!!! New York, NY

I'm tired of the saddle bags, but not willing to go under the knife. since it was just saddle bags it was 3 spots on each thigh, 4 passes on each. some pain for sure (intense burning, like being branded), but it was short lived. am anxious to see if it works over the next 3 months! will upload "before" photos when dr sends them. right now, about an hour after, no pain, maybe a little achy. no bruising as yet. I will keep this posted as things develop. Updated on 13 Nov 2015: sorry i didn't clarify, this is my liposonix review and progress. Updated on 19 Nov 2015: pictures of bruises which appeared 4 days post liposonix. one leg had no bruises. the pain is super mild, swelling is mild as well. i did take a few doses of arnica 2 days prior but it upset my stomach, so I did not take all doses and did not continue post procedure. Updated on 19 Nov 2015: not sure these are good representatives of my body, i am a size 0/2...i look so bad in the docs photos!!!! anyway, here they are. will update when I see results, fingers crossed.... Updated on 28 Dec 2015: i see a tiny change! someone else noticed and mentioned unprompted. she knew about the procedure, but i didn't ask her what she thought.
