Mahira Tanovic, MD

I have had the privilege of having Dr. Tanovic as my doctor for over 15 years. She is a brilliant surgeon, and a lovely and compassionate human being. There is NO ONE Better. As some of the other reviewers wrote, I too was disfigured by another doctor’s error. Dr. Tanovic worked tirelessly to put me back together physically and emotionally. She is awesome.

The Doctor is very pleasant and appears nice. She held my hand right before the surgery. At the consultation she told me that she did not use drains and would take about 1.5 pounds off. Dr. Tanovic told I would have anchor incisions. When I woke up I had drains and extended excisions. I did not find out that 3 pounds were taken off until 6 months after the procedure. I am still trying to get use the small size. My left breast kept opening up. The Dr was attentive when I saw her and restitched each time. I was in a lot of pain the first week after surgery. Unfortunately my aeola partially died on both breasts. When I first mentioned it she told me it was fine when it was not. I developed fat fibrosis in both breasts and was told to keep massaging them. It did not work. I went for a second consultation after my last visit she kept saying she could fix after I questioned her. A couple of weeks later I called her office to speak with her and her nurse wanted to know what the issues were and defended the Dr. She told me I had to come in to talk to the Dr. I did not go in because I felt uncomfortable because I have not been able to state my full concerns without being cut off and told she could fix everything. I wrote an email to her with my concerns and she did not respond. My reduction was paid by my insurance and she was paid $66,000. I went for consultation with a second Dr. Who said she try to fix some of the scars for $2500 and that is what the insurance company will be charged. There were dog ears and extended excisions started to keloid. The incisions under the breast were not in the crease. She said the fibrosis is large and if taken out would leave the breast malshapen because they are so small. She said she may can take it out and put in implants. Hopefully, I will get the revisions in a couple of months and will be happier with the results. Updated on 10 Aug 2022: I spoke with the a week ago and today she did revisions. The dog ears are done. She was able to break up the fat under the nipples. No other PS knew how to do this. The Doctor did not want anyone else to fix her work. I think we had some misunderstanding earlier. I am happy that she was able to address my concerns.

Dr. Tanovic, her PA Andrea, and staff are all amazing!! I went to her to treat my acne scars which I have been dealing with for years. I have tried many treatments which never worked. With just 1 treatment of the vivace micro needling that she offers, it made such an improvement and my skin is so much smoother. I was only red for 1 day after and super happy with the results. 10/10 highly recommend going to her!!

As mothers we put everyone else before ourselves. For years I've been uncomfortable with my chest, but never even thought that I would take the time, have the time or even have the courage to have a breast reduction. One day at 46, after having three kids and just not being able to fit into anything properly anymore and having shoulder pain- I realized that I just didn't want do it anymore. I didn't want to put myself last and feel uncomfortable for the second half of my life. I was always afraid of any sort of surgery or cosmetic change to my face or my body; I have not even done Botox. But for some reason I just took a leap of faith and found Dr. Tanovic through a friend. The staff took care of all the paperwork and I had to do nothing except show up for my appointment. My results were unbelievable. Dr. Tanovic told me prior to surgery that she could not give me a cup size that I would be- which made me nervous. But she said that my breasts would be perfectly proportioned to my body. She was right. They are EXACTLY what I wanted for years - the shape and the size are perfect for my frame. Even the way Dr. Tanovic sewed me back up has left me with minimal scarring just after eight weeks. She is amazing! I have recommended her to every woman that has considered a breast reduction. And what I have to say are women yes do it you're worth it and if you're lucky enough to have Dr. Tanovic do your surgery- you won't be sorry!

After dealing with much pain having diastasis recti and an umbilical hernia, i decided to book a consultation with Dr.Tanovic. From consultation to surgery day through to post op appointments, she and her staff have been nothing but wonderful. I was very nervous about the surgery but they did nothing but help put my mind at ease.They are all so caring and make you feel so comfortable and safe while in their office. I had a tummy tuck with lipo and am in love with my results! I feel like myself again and am able to lift my kids without anymore pain. I am able to wear clothes i thought id never be able to wear again because of how my stomach looked before surgery. Yes recovery is lengthy but it is 100% worth it if Dr. Tanovic is doing it! I would recommend anyone to her and i would use her for any future surgery. Forever thankful for her

I can't say enough good about my experience with Dr Tanovic and her manager, Senka and nurse, Diane. I was greeted with caring warmth by all. They all made me feel so welcome and comfortable. This has continued with all of my appointments. Any questions get answered in a timely manner. I can call or email. Very convenient. Dr Tanovic made me feel so supported, positive and comfortable. There was no question that she was the doctor I wanted to do my mommy makeover. ( Tummy tuck, breast lift and liposuction). Dr Tanovic sat with me like a friend to explain everything and answer my questions. She was totally focused on just me and would give me as much time as I needed. She is a professional, warm, funny, caring person with a great bedside manner. I would confidently recommend her to anybody, especially friends and family.

Went to Dr. Mahira Tanovic to have my silicone injections removed on 12/14/2020. Its going on 3 months and I feel great. Dr Tanovic was God sent. I had this pain/problem for a very longtime. I did some research and went to 3 different doctors one denied services to me, another suggested lipo which was far from what I needed done especially to correct or attempt to remove, which could never be done by lipo or cool sculpting, if anyone suggests this run from their office. After all this I found Dr Tanovic, what an amazing Dr and woman, she understood my problem, my concerns this Dr. cried with me. I was embarrassed and ashamed of what I had done to myself. She said she understood and that I needed not to be embarrassed about this. I cried and she ensured me everything was going to be alright. Her staff is super supportive as well Senka is very sweet and welcoming she is the office manager & helped make this procedure possible. I've been going to her office every week since my surgery and not once have they turned me away. They've being super supportive. Diane her RN treats me with kindness and so much love. I'm truly bless to have found Dr.Tanovic and her staff.

My breast reduction experience with Dr. Tanovic and her amazing staff has far beyond exceeded my expectations. From start to finish Dr. Tanovic was detailed and thorough in her explanations of the pre-op, surgery and the recovery process. As someone who was extremely nervous and apprehensive to have the surgery, the empathy and calming temperament of Dr. Tanovic, Diane and staff made my experience that much easier. I will forever hold their team in my heart, and am indebted to them for changing my life. I have no hesitations to refer future patients to them!

I went in for a consultation and booked my granulomas removal with Dr. Tanovic. She is so informative and genuine. She made me feel at ease and safe. I still don’t know why the actual substance is that caused the granulomas but I guess we will know after surgery. The first surgery is set for July 23. I joined this site for support and guidance from people who have had similar surgeries. I look forward to sharing and learning from you guys. I am Very nervous but i will leave it all n Gods hands. Yesterday I went in for a consult with Dr. Tanovic since she is the one who taught Dr. Mir the removal technique. (He was her resident and rented space in her practice). She was very understanding and reassuring. She really knew her stuff. I was injected with what I was told was growth hormone basically. It was a substance that would make my own cells multiply and was natural...lol. Stupid me! Then I began to have so many mysterious illnesses. My ANA markers were high and clearly I have an autoimmune issue with no cause until Someone brought it to my attention that what was injected in me may have been some other substance. I don’t know what it is but it is hard and painful 10 years later. I am terrified and hope get guidance and support from this group throughout my journey. I’m terrified of the pain and scares. I will share my story with y’all the whole way through.
